After the pain subdued a little, both twins slowly pulled away from Katherine and went to sit behind their desks.

"You two are evil." Draco accused. "I almost lost my baby maker."

Tharion, luckily, encountered a lot less painful hit. Although Katherine literally headbutted his little friend, the blow wasn't that hard. Draco, on the other hand, had a heel dug in his family jewels.

"Sorry for not telling you. But your faces and reactions were priceless." Lyla said cheerfully.

Both twins glared at her and Blaze and then looked at Katherine.

"Is she always like that when she's sleeping?" Tharion asked.

"Unfortunately. I also found out about it the hard way." Lyla said with a shiver.

Both twins groaned and threw their heads back.

"Okay. We'll ignore that for the time being. We have something more important we want to talk to you about." Draco said and looked at Lyla.

She gave them a curious look and nodded at them to continue.

"We think it's time to check if Katie is our mate or not." They said at the same time.

Lyla chocked on air and looked at them in bewilderment.

"What?!" She whisper-yelled.

"I know what you're going to say. She isn't ready. And we agree. But our nature is pushing us to do it and we won't be able to hold back for long." Draco explained.

"So we think it's best to do that while we still have control over ourselves." Tharion added.

Lyla was at a loss for words. Her mouth was opening and closing, but no words came out.

"Keep in mind we're not asking you for permission. We're going to do it whether you agree or not. We just wanted to let you know that we're doing it." Tharion said flatly.

Lyla looked worriedly at Katherine, but slowly nodded.

"Great. Since weekend is in two days, we'll organize a little camping trip for the entire company as an excuse to get Katie to come into our territory. The location of the camp will be at the base of our mountain. Once the night starts to fall, you persuade Katie to come at the top of the mountain where we'll be waiting." Draco explained the plan.

"And then the show begins." Blaze added cheerfully.

Lyla glared at her husband and reluctantly nodded her head.

"I'm just afraid of her reaction." She said worriedly.

"Why? Will she also scream and curse saying she's on fire?" Blaze teased with a playful grin.

Lyla elbowed him and glared at him yet again.

"No. It's just, she always believes in what she sees. Maybe that's why she got scared earlier. I'm sure you sensed that old fart was a dragon." She explained.

"How did you know?" Draco asked in surprise.

"His eyes changed to his dragon eyes for a second when he tried to grab Kate's chin. So I'm pretty positive she thought he was possessed or something." She answered.

Rage coursed through their veins almost instantly. The mere thought of that old dragon had their blood boiling. He dared to touch Katherine like that and he's not going anywhere without facing the consequences.

"I'm used to you guys doing that, so I was just a little surprised, but Kate really got scared. She never doubts her eyes. If she says she saw something, then it's real and she will find you proof if she has to." Lyla continued.

"Meaning?" Tharion asked.

"There's no saying what could happen to her when she sees you in your dragon forms." She said with dread in her voice.

The twins looked at each other worriedly. But they knew they had to do it or they'll go insane.

"Don't worry lil' bros. We'll try to mentally prep her as much as we can." Blaze said and pointed at Lyla and himself.

The twins just nodded their heads and looked at the sleeping Katherine.

'Do you feel confident about this brother?' Draco asked skeptically.

'Yes. I believe she's our mate. And I'm pretty sure she also feels the connection between us.' Tharion answered confidently.

Draco nodded and breathed out.

"Now, please remove whatever magic you put on her so she can wake up. Work hours are already over and I would also like to get some sleep." Lyla said and got up.

Tharion and Draco also got up and approached Katherine. Then they placed their hands on her head and removed the spell which kept her asleep.

"She'll wake up in a few minutes." Tharion said.

Lyla nodded and looked at her friend. Worry was visible on her face.

"Don't worry Lyla. We'll be very careful to not leave any permanent damage in case she's not our mate." Draco reassured her and gently rubbed her back.

She smiled and hugged him.

"As messed up as that sounded, thanks. It means a lot." She said with a small smile.

I slowly opened my eyes and a gray ceiling was the first thing to greet me.

This is definitely not my room.

I slowly sat up and rubbed my eyes. Then I looked around and saw I was actually in Tharion's and Draco's office.

Shit!

I panicked and quickly got up. But then I relaxed when I saw I was the only one here. I didn't waste a second more and immediately left the office. I went back to my desk and saw Lyla packing our stuff.

"You're awake. Perfect. I was about to come and check on you." She said with a smile.

"How did I end up in there? I clearly remember I was sitting with Tharion and Draco in the meeting room." I said in confusion.

"You fell asleep while talking with them, so they brought you in their office because it's more comfortable to sleep on a couch than on a chair." She explained and then handed me my stuff.

"Thanks." I said with red cheeks.

I can't believe I fell asleep in the middle of our conversation. So embarrassing.

I was hitting my head as the two of us headed for the elevator.

"Don't worry Kate. They didn't mind it." She reassured with a chuckle.

Then her words from earlier hit me with no warning.

"They carried me to the office?!" I asked in panic.

"Technically, Draco did. But both made sure you were comfortable once they brought you inside the office." She said and pressed the button for the ground floor.

With that, my embarrassment increased even more.

"Please tell me I didn't do anything stupid while I was asleep." I mumbled in agony.

"Well, aside from almost squashing their family jewels with your head and leg, nothing major happened." She said with a smirk.

"I did what?!" I sckreeched in horror.

She started laughing like a maniac while I wanted to dig a hole and bury myself in it.

Can I just quit?
