Arriving at the house you were quickly greeted with a well decorated living room and open kitchen, the two of which were both decorated with different little plants and minimalistic furniture. Now even though you had only met Bucciarati earlier in the day you could tell the rooms décor reflected his personality quite well.
"Let me show you around a bit and get you settled." Hearing the man state that you once again found yourself trailing behind him, his steady strides made it a tricky to keep pace with- eventually led you to speed up falling into step alongside him.
Stopping before one of the many hallway doors he swung open one of them motioning inside, "This is your room, hope it's alright." Gaging your expression he watched you take slow steps into the room, eyes flickering around towards each piece of furniture before a hum left your lips.
The room wasn't as plain as you initially expected it to be, of course there was a bed and desk but there were also little gold trinkets littered around and some more small plants. Your two white cases have also been placed neatly along the foot of the bed. "It's a really nice room, thank you."
Giving a hum at your words he gave you a gentle smile. The man was quickly growing on you.
"Glad you think so, I wasn't sure what you'd like inside so I just put a few things to make it seem...not so bare." Leaning a bit on the doorframe he then added on, "Oh and before I forget, right beside your room to the left is the bathroom, next to that is Fugo's room, then Narancia's and across from that is Mistas." Motioning with a hand out the door and to what side of the hall he was referring to he added on, "Across from your room is my office while the door at the end of the hall is my room."
Nodding to what he was saying you pursed your lips together recalling the members he'd listed, "Does Abbacchio not stay here?" Recalling that the aforementioned white haired man's name wasn't listed you could only assume he stayed elsewhere.

"You'd be correct to assume that, though he does live elsewhere he often occupies the guest room which is down the other hall." Explaining that he nodded to himself observing briefly how you cracked open your suitcases, "Well, I'll let out unpack and get settled in. If you need anything feel free to ask."
You appreciated how attentive Bucciarati was with everyone and merely just flashed the man another smile following it with a nod as you watched him step out softly closing the door. Returning your attention to the two cases before you, you began unpacking them, placing your clothes into drawers. Your second case got moved onto the large desk tucked underneath the room's window.
The array of wraps, bottles and other items which you always thought were a bit overkill were placed on top of the desk and within the drawers, while your study book was quickly kicked underneath the bed hopefully to never see the light of day ever again.
'Good Riddens.'
Sparing a glance towards your cases once more before deeming them unpacked you tucked them both under the bed as to keep them out of the way. Figuring that you'd spend enough time unpacking and putting things away you slipped out from the room into the hallway making your way towards where the living room was.
"You shouldn't be chasing it around! You might accidentally hit it!" Pinching the bridge of his nose Fugo held an annoyed expression, his eyes were closed to further show his annoyance as the black haired teen in question merely hopped around the living room. Both hands in the air as if to try and coax the currently fluttering away butterfly over.
"I won't though! I just wanna get a better look at it." Seemingly whining that out, Narancia let out a huff before tripping over the coffee table, his lack of spatial awareness being the cause of the accident. Groaning from the floor he propped his head up watching the golden winged insect continue to flitter before hovering over where Abbacchio sat amongst the couch.
Perhaps it had decided to take refuge by the man.

Groaning at that revelation he pulled himself off from the floor into a cross legged position, his eyes right away catching you enter the room and a wave was given. "Hey (Y/N), quick question?! What's up with the butterfly? You did say it was yours." His question caught the attention of the others and the three spread out around the room had their focus on you.
Pondering over what to say you figured being outright would be best seeing as these people were going to be your new teammates for a while. "Well It's a part of my stand, you're all stand users too aren't you?" Replying with that then adding your own question you watched each member take in the new information.
Though Mista was the first to break the silence having just taken a swig of water beforehand, currently coughing it up in surprise. "Wait wait wait, you're a stand user?!" Leaning over the counter and wanting to double check what he'd just heard you gave a nod.
"Yeah, that butterfly is a part of my stand. Though it's mostly for support, I can't really fight with it." Responding back with that and pointing over to where the bug was you hummed nodding your head. Though it did seem like there were some more questions wanting to be asked.
"So, if it can't fight what does it do?" Resting over the counter as well Fugo crossed his arms, to hear about a stand which didn't exactly have any offensive capabilities in Passione made him curious as to what exactly yours did and why you were placed on their team.
"Healing. I mean I was placed here as an assigned medic, that's what my family is known for anyways." Almost wanting to facepalm right away at your answer Fugo internally lectured himself. He knew your last name had sounded familiar yet now that you explained that it all made sense.
"Oh, that makes a lot of sense." Both Mista and Narancia nodded at the explanation before the black haired teen piped in. "So then that butterfly is just your stand? Like the entire thing right?"
Shaking your head in response you let out a hum, "Not really, I like to think of it as a more portable version. My stands full form isn't that exciting to be honest." Having explained that you pondered over what else to add. There were some other things your stand could do application wise with its appearance but it's hard to explain.
"Interesting. So you mean to say that the butterfly is a substand?" Inquiring that Fugo rested his chin in the palm of his hand, with what you were saying it seemed like only a small amount of your ability could be used.
"Yeah, I mean, I don't really know what else it would be? Though it does have a mind of its own." Motioning towards the creature it fluttered around the room once more. The golden hue of it reflected the room's light making it seem as though there was a spotlight on it.
"But now you're all making me curious, you never really gave me confirmation that you all have stands but seeing as you can see mine that's confirmation rough." Realizing you answered your own question an airy laugh left your lips while the three gave slight smiles.
It was beginning to feel like you'd been with the team since the beginning.
"Well you hear that Narancia? If it has a mind of its own that means it doesn't like you since it keeps flying away." Commenting on what was happening prior to you entering the room Mista snickered watching the dark haired boy let out a whine.
"Wha? That's mean, I think it's just doing what butterflies do." Crossing his arms and giving a childlike pout you couldn't help but let out a laugh.
Maybe you were anxious for nothing.

An Unwilling Monster
In the city of Kholakel, the highlight of the year for the upper classes is the annual monster pacification of the misty woods. Ostensibly it's a culling of the monster population to prevent them encroaching on urban areas, but it's an open secret that it's actually treated as more of a blood sport, the participants competing to score the most kills. After all, why else would the politicians and elites of the city bother to attend personally? Given the intense competition and high-tech weapons and gear in use, one might wonder how the forest has not yet been completely depopulated. As this year's culling approaches, a group of unfortunate children are about to discover the answer first-hand, but thanks to an unexpected twist of fate, one of them will score the chance to play the role of the hunter instead of the prey. This was an attempt at writing something darker than my usual fare. The story I actually ended up with isn't as mean to the MC as I'd originally planned out, to the point that I'm not sure the story deserves the horror/grimdark tags anymore, but this is still an unfair world with unambiguously evil antagonists. Chapters are short to start with, but get longer once the first act is over.
