Standing where the water met the shore your gaze was trained among the calm surface, a small almost miniscule wave would brush past nipping away at the tips of your shoes. The beach was certainly much calmer in comparison to the plane, but you also knew that anything could happen in the blink of an eye.
The conversation of the three behind you merely blended with the subtle wind till your name was called, "(Y/N), keep your guard up and stay with Abbacchio. The two of you will remain here." Calling that out and waiting or you to give a nod in understanding both Bruno and Narancia ran off.
Remaining by the waters edge for a bit longer you let out a hum peering back towards the silver haired man and his stand. The two stood quietly both deep focus while you just lingered off to the side.
"(Y/N), you should get away from the water. We don't know when an enemy will attack." Flickering his gaze towards where you were he crossed his arms seeing you ignore what he'd said opting to stick your hands into the water.
"Hey, do you think after everything's said and done we could all go swimming or something?" Swirling your hand around in the water while asking that you reached below the surface picking up a small rock and tossing it across the surface. "I haven't swam in a long time."
Letting out a deep sigh at what you were saying he answered, "Depends if we make it out or not." Staring at your back for a good few seconds he could make out you cupping your hands together, capturing some water in them. A mischievous look casted itself onto your expression.
"Don't even think about it, if you throw that water I'll throw you into the ocean." Right away opening your cupped hands and letting the water fall out a huff left through your lips. Wiping the palms of your hands onto your pants you trailed towards where he stood, eyes moving across the surrounding area before landing on Moody Blues.
Your fascination with the stand was something Abbacchio couldn't seem to wrap his head around. Sure you've talked about Mista and Narancia's stand as well as Giorno's, but it seemed as though no matter what situation it was, you were always fixated with his whenever it showed up.

"Is there something about my stand that makes you look like a kid in a candy store or do you just look at every stand like that?" Leaning onto the stone column behind him Abbacchio's two toned hues focused in on your expression.
Not realizing that you were staring so intently at the stand a sort of awkward laugh left your lips, "Aha well I mean I just think it's really interesting. Having the ability to replay the embodiment of a person during a specific time-" Explaining that you then motioned a hand towards the stand. "I think that's really cool."
Nodding along to what you were saying it felt nice that you viewed his stand in that sense, he knew it wasn't the most useful for fighting but it had value in it's replay ability.
"You think if you touch it while it's searching, it'll stop?" Absentmindedly asking that you couldn't help but wonder what the stand had felt like, sure it was a weird thing to think about but curiosity is curiosity.
Pondering over the question himself he let out a hum, "I don't think it would, why do you ask? Wanna touch it or something?" He seemed to have hit the nail right on the head with that seeing the way you pursed your lips outwards similar to that of a fish.
"Well go on then." Blinking at the man as though you didn't quite hear him, he merely just jutted his head towards his stand. Bounding quickly towards the stand and stopping just parallel to it, you stared at it's iridescent skin.
Watching you reach up and rest a hand on the stands arm trailing it down, you grabbed onto Moody Blues's hand turning it so that the palm was facing upwards. Pressing on the center of it's palm the stands fingers folded inwards before returning to their opened state.
Finding it interesting that the stand's palm had the same if not similar markings to a human palm, the gears in your head began turning. "Abbacchio give me your hand."
Now it was his turn to blink slowly, processing what you'd asked. He saw no harm in complying with what was asked and held out a hand watching you grab hold of his wrist tugging him forward till his hand lined up with Moody Blues.

"Cool, you both have the same lines." Pointing that out and letting go of Moody Blues's hand you trailed your pointer finger over Abbacchio's hand following one of the lines. "And did you know this one here is called your lifeline?"
Moving his hand in place you let out a hum, "I'd say it's pretty normal save for this gap. Though I'm not much of a fortune teller as I am a medic." Moving your gaze up to meet his own, a rosy hue dusted across your face seeing how intently he's been observing you.
It wasn't at all in a creepy manner, but it made you feel a bit embarrassed for bringing up something as weird as palm reading.
Letting go of his hand rather quickly you sputtered out an apology feeling like one was necessary. Though in response to that he let out a sigh raising a hand to pat the top of your head, "It's fine. It was cute." Veering off into a mumble by the end his hands fell to his sides, eyes moving towards a group of children loudly playing soccer.
Moving your own gaze towards the group as well you appreciated that they could provide you some sort of distraction. Being called cute by the pale haired man was really the last thing you expected- though it did leave you feeling jittery.
"It's already the 25th. June's going to be over soon. How long is this going to take?" Looking over at his stand impatiently the man let out a groan. "It better actually be June fifteen years ago, damn it."
Clicking his tongue after this his eyes once again drifted over towards the children, they were currently calling out to one another while reaching up towards a branch which their ball had gotten stuck in. "Hey! Pipe down, you little brats! Go play someplace where there's more room!" Doing a quick 180 with his mood, Abbacchio snapped at the kids receiving an abundance of eye rolls.
"Duh, we know that." "Who the heck kicked it up there?" "Hey! Stop throwing rocks!" "Reach out your hand a little more!" Feeling bad that they were struggling to get their ball free you trailed over stopping before the branch to see if you could reach; though due to unfortunate circumstances it was even out of reach for yourself.
Turning your head to peer at the white haired man you could see him let out a groan muttering a few things under his breath before stepping over, leaning just over you raising a hand to knock the ball out of it's branch prison. Each kid right away called out various words of thanks, running off to continue their game elsewhere, a subtle smile was then tugged across the man's lips.
"That was nice of you." Murmuring that out softly a smile of your own had broken out along your expression while Abbacchio just shook his head moving out of the way of one of the kids moving to scamper past.
That was what you assumed at least.
It all happened in the span of a second but your stand had manifested itself diving towards the man in front of you. You weren't even aware it could do that but without much time to ponder over it something had applied the force of a speeding car into your ribs sending you back towards the rock wall.
The air was quickly sucked out of you in the form of a pained groan and you could feel the various sharp rocks digging into your back presumably making lovely holes in your clothing. The pounding of your skull went ignored as your attention shifted towards your silver haired companion catching sigh of him slumped over a rock slab.
"Valkyrie!"

Apocalypse at Mighty Max
God sold us out and the world ended... well, sort of. God may have sold us, or at least, our universe but our world didn't end. Instead, the new owners decided to play, and we all know what that means: Monsters, a System, Magic, Cultivation, and, of course, two new moons! Thanks for reading! I appreciate the interest. This is a rough draft and is intended to flesh out some ideas for a novel that I had. Maybe figure out if I want to do this author thing, you know? If you want immediately OP MCs, fights every chapter, a harem, this is not the story for you. Sorry about that. If you're willing to put up with a long growth curve, an MC that doesn't know what he's doing most of the time but is trying his best both to survive and to help his friends survive, you might enjoy the story. I'm just trying to have fun, maybe create something that in a second draft I can sell on the eBook market. If you're not into that, not into providing helpful comments for revisions, hey, that's cool, but do us both a favor and stop reading now. ** Oh, release schedule For the first weeks, I'll be releasing a chapter (1800-3000 words) a day. Following that, I'll be releasing whenever the mood strikes me. If I get some feedback, the mood might strike me more often, hint! hint!
