《[⚕️] My goddess from the future || Giorno Giovanna》Chapter XXXIII

Destination: Rome
The next day Giorno and his army prepared to reach the halfway point of their trip; just a few weeks away from Rome. Nobody realised the sudden missing of the sender of the army, maybe some of the soldiers did but assumed he was working again. Nevertheless, Giorno's sinister actions have been successful once again, without anyone suspecting of them or of the emperor.
As they reached the middle of their long path, Narancia ran to meet the men, inviting everyone to the inn he was staying at.
"Well Giorno, how do you feel after another glorious victory of yours?" The boy enthusiastically asked his friend while sipping some fine wine
"How do i feel? Well, as an emperor i guess" the blond calmly answered with a small smile on his face. Yes, he was completely content and proud of his achievements and of the army's results, but his mind was still elsewhere.
You, readers, probably know where.
"Narancia, did you know about my letter?" Giorno asked, now focusing on Narancia's face only as if the rest of the inn faded away and it was only the two of them
"Well, i didn't receive anything and that made me suspicious. I rechecked all the path assigned to me and didn't find anything. I was thinking on going towards your way to check, but here you are! Did something happen to your letter?" The boy honestly answered with concern written on his face. He and Mista knew something was up and now it was the right moment to sort the problem out.
"Yes, but it's not important anymore. How did Y/N react? I hope she didn't get too upset..." The emperor asked with the same exact gaze, hoping that the answer will satisfy him
"Well... How should i put it... As far as Guido told me she did not react well" Narancia almost whispered the last part, knowing that it is going to deeply upset his friend. He had no other choice but tell the truth though

"Shit..." Giorno mumbled to himself, his mind becoming blurry for a second before returning to its normal state
"I need to get back as soon as possible" he was about to get up from the table but the black haired stopped him
"Wait Giorno! The soldiers still need to rest. How about you tell me how the battles went? Or maybe about what was written in your letter? We haven't seen each other for a long time, we need to catch up on each other you know"
Giorno knew that his friend was right. He couldn't just ignore his friends because of a problem that still could be solved. Besides, as Narancia said, he couldn't do anything until next morning, so freeing his mind with his friends was the best he could do.
"You're right, Narancia. I'm sorry.
Let's call Bruno and spend some time together"
That night, they all seemed to have relaxed, at least the slightest bit. Narancia was venting about how boring staying in the same place was and how he wanted to go with his friends to the northern adventures, if we can call them as such. Bruno was trying to reassure Narancia that not risking his life wasn't bad at all and that now it didn't matter anymore since they were all returning to their daily lives in Rome, the ones that were still full of adventures, drama and risks.
All of that was pretty amusing to the emperor and he understood how much he missed going out with his friends and having such carefree dialogues.
But his mind kept on darting back to Y/N.
He now knew you were sad, and the more time passed the sadder you were. As for now, Giorno was powerless: sending Narancia with another letter was useless since they decided to go back together. Besides, his second ring was kept in Rome so even if he proposed in the letter it wouldn't have the same effect. He had to master a plan B, and master it quickly.

Meanwhile in Rome
Days were monotonous and dull for you, as a person who was used to the infamous online web and spent a lot of free time surfing the net, watching something and playing games. What was even worse was the fact that you were an extremely important person, hence you couldn't just leave the building and go having fun around the city, not without a few guards following and protecting you. At first, this life seemed like a good experience to have, but it turned to be easily annoying to you. No matter how much you met with your new friends, sometimes you wanted to recharge from so many conversations, especially since half of the time the gossip was about people you didn't know at all.
While, Giorno and his army were on their way back, passed the check point where Narancia was, you were locked up in your room once again with your friends. Not that you minded, but you just wanted to see the man you quickly and unexpectedly fell in love with. It has been so long since you last saw him, but at least you knew he was safe and sound.
"Y/N, i will go to the toilet. I'll come back in a bit" Trish said as you nodded, leaving the room and carefully closing the doors.
"Leone, could you come with me for a second?" The pink haired girl asked one of the guards, gaining a few confused looks
"Well, no. I'm guarding as you can see" Abbacchio sternly answered, moving his gaze back to what was in front of him
"Yeah yeah, save it Abbacchio. First of all these days have been pretty calm" Trish started complaining
"But this doesn't mean-"
"SECOND OF ALL, don't interrupt me please, there is still Guido here" she continued and pointed at Mista, who awkwardly waved as he didn't know what to do or say
"So unless you think he's a useless idiot, i don't see why you shouldn't take a moment to talk with me"
"Hey that was rude!" Mista whined, feeling a bit under pressure, but before starting to complain further he was interrupted by a heavy sigh
"Fine..." Was the only thing Abbacchio said as Trish took him farther from the room and where anyone else couldn't hear
When they arrived to a safe point, they both stopped in their tracks
"So what did you want to talk about?"
