Chapter XXXVIII

Trying not to face Leone, you exited the room and hurried to the shower, trying to be as fast as possible so you could go back to your chamber.

But, at the last moment, you ran towards the guard room. You felt too sorry for Leone, you pitied him. He has gone through humiliation and beatings yet all he did was having a crush.

You knocked on the door, hoping to find someone inside

"Y/N? Did something happen?" Bruno cautiusly opened the door and pulled you inside

"Y-yes. Giorno..."

"What? Did something happen to the emperor?!"

"You... You were right. He beated Abbacchio up-"

Bruno continued interrupting you

"Ugh... I thought Trish told Leone to stop his madness. Now he's in danger, Giorno won't stop with simply beating him up.

Y/N! Has Leone, perhaps, tried to romance you in front of Giorno?"

"How do you know all those things?"

"Hm? Wasn't it obvious? Actually, this answers my question. If i noticed that, then Giorno must've understood this right away"

"What should we do Bruno? We can't leave Leone like this-"

"I warned him and so did Trish, the rest is his fault. I can't help it"

"WHAT?! I thought you were friends, we gotta help him" you were quite surprised that Bruno wasn't going to help you. Or better, he wasn't going to help Abbacchio

"Do you even understand your position? You are the emperor's girlfriend, future wife even. He is absolutely crazy for you, thankfully you understood it now. And what do you want to do? Stop Giorno from neutralizing your potential lover?"

You didn't answer; hearing Bruno word it that way really made you see the point. Thus, you only had two options: one was to stay with Giorno and do your best to ignore Abbacchio,but your growing feelings for him couldn't make you act this way. So the second option was to save yours and Leone's lives in one way or another. Maybe to run away, to hide forever or to kill the emperor.

At the thought of the last choice your body covered in goosebumps, but it was also the most effective way.

You never expected to have your feelings changing so quickly, but the incident with Abbacchio really did something to you, it changed you and now you wanted that man to be safe and happy, possibly with you. This was only confirmed by the last turn of events: you didn't love Giorno, you didn't feel as well as you did during that brief scene with Abbacchio and seeing him in pain because of you made your heart ache immensly.

"That's a shitty situation isn't it?"

"Look, i don't know what's your opinion on Abbacchio, but the most i can do to help you is forgetting about this discussion. It's something that never happened and i won't deceive Giorno if he ever asks, which will probably happen" Bruno stopped your thinking and resumed doing his business.

"Alright, i understood. Thanks anyway"

You went to the shower room and thought there as well, trying to imagine some sort of plan, but nothing good came to your mind.... Apart from eliminating the problem itself. He was dangerous, extremely dangerous. Maybe you'd do everyone a favor by killing him? Maybe the empire will be even better without him in power?

You wondered and wondered, until you realised you ended up back into your room.

"No, i have to help him. I've gotta help Leone"

You hurried back to the door, but unfortunately Giorno entered the same moment you were about to exit

"Y/N? Where are you going?" He asked concerned, ready to embrace you in a hug which you carefully declined

"Giorno! I need to speak to Trish right now. Give me a minute please!" You begged with puppy eyes

"Of course, sure. She's now visiting Bruno as i recall, i'll send Mista with you and-"

"! I-i mean there is no need since we're all in the palace right? Nothing bad can happen, besides you're here with me, protecting me. Noone will dare to hurt me"

"Hmmm" he smirked "you're right. I'll be waiting for you here then, so be quick!"

"Of course my emperor!" You happily exclaimed and rushed out of the room.

Obviously your plan was to go to Abbacchio, but you knew Giorno wouldn't leave you alone. You often checked the surroundings to locate the spies and at the same time tried to find the long haired guard.

Thankfully, as you were about to enter the place where Bruno and Trish were to confirm yourself, you found Leone going your same direction. He was hurt, his body bruised and blood still on his face, but when he saw you his eyes still lit up, as if he was relieved for a second.

You immediately took the initiative to take him by the hand and pull him into the room right next to the one you were about to enter, carefully so nobody noticed

"Y-y/n... What are you doing?"

"Shhhh, please rest. I want to help, we don't have much time, but i need you to follow my plan. I want you to hide under this bed here and be ready to attack"

"Wh-who?!"

"SHHHHH. Leone i'm sorry, i'm sorry for what happened between us and for your pain right now. I- i didn't think it would end this way. But i can't let it happen, i can't leave it unpunished. I love you and i realised it too slowly, i should've listened to you when-"

Abbacchio pulled you on him, even if it hurt him he still did, and passionately kissed you while tightly hugging you as if it was his last kiss. You returned the kiss and caressed his cheeks, his hands soon followed yours as he placed them on your hands.

You broke the kiss and continued

"I don't know if this will work, but if it fails i won't leave you alone. Hide here, under this bed. I'll call for Giorno and he will come here. At my signal, you need to get out from here and stab Giorno. Do you think you'll be able to do it?" You carefully observed his aching body, but his gaze was as stern as always

"Yes. I will do my best" he whisper yelled and slighlty smirked

This was a crazy plan, almost suicidal. But if it was the last thing you'd do, at least you'd do it together, knowing of each others' feelings

"Great... I wish all of this didn't happen, i wish i'd chose you instead" you hugged Leone again, small tears forming in your eyes as he hugged back and patted your head

"Shhh no need to think of it now. Go, or your absence will be suspicious" he tried to calm you and to make you focus on the plan, which he seemed to really like

"I love you" you whispered

"I love you too"

"Y/N, do you remember i told you i had a surprise for you?" Giorno happily approached you with a loving yet confident gaze

"Yes, but i have a surprise for you too!" You smirked and took his hand into yours

"Oh really?"

"Of course! Let me show it to you" you were about to start pulling Giorno out of the room, but he stopped you

"Can i start? My surprise is uh... It's pretty important for us" he shyly looked away with forming blush on his cheeks

"Please baby, all of your surprises are important. Can i please show your mine first? Please please!"

"Okay okay, you seem to be pretty excited about this huh?"

"You can't even imagine how excited i am" you proudly answered

You dragged your 'boyfriend' out of the room and brought him to the room you previously were in with Abbacchio. As you were approaching the room you spoke

"Baby close your eyes, a-alright?"you whispered

"Alright"

You opened the door and brought yourself and Giorno inside, you made him sit on the bed and kissed his forehead, to what he opened his eyes.

You stared at him seductively and pushed him completely on the bed so that he was laying beneath you. You started peppering his face with kisses as his hands started roaming around your body, then you carefully took the closest pillow, quickly got off Giorno and pushed the pillow onto his face

"NOW" you whisper yelled as Leone got onto the bed and stabbed the emperor a few times, just to make sure he died. Giorno's screams were muffled by the pillow, so the guards wouldn't hear them and, after a sixth stab, he stopped breathing

"So what do we do now?" Abbacchio whispered

"Can we run away? We aren't too high from the ground, so if you do something with the guards we will have time to escape from here right? We need to hide the body though"

"Understood, my lover" Leone smirked as a blush creeped on your face

"You know, when they'll find him, we will be the first suspects together with the opposition" you started another conversation while trying to find a good place where the body wouldn't be easy to find in the room

"I know, but at least it's all over.... Actually... Did he... He came inside didn't he?"

"Oh no" you thought, you knew what Leone was hinting at

"Maybe, maybe he didn't make it..the baby. I hope so. Leone i- i don't know" you whispered as you realised that you omitted one of the most important features of your whole stay, but Leone simply approached you and kissed you on the forehead

"You are mine now and so are your kids"

As you were hiding the body and cleaning the blood-stained mess, you heart a weird sound coming from very close.

"Well well well, greetings Y/N L/N"

"We've finally managed to fix the errors in the system and we came to take you and Jack back to our reality" a man in a suit said as he jumped out of a blueish portal

"So... Where is he? We have to go back immediately. These portals don't last forever"

"WHAT IS THIS?!" Leone yelled in disbelief while your plan was about to be busted thanks to all the noise ongoing.

"Ok we need to get out of here quickly. Jack is dead, the emperor killed him. It's only me now, i'll explain everything in our world"

You grabbed Leone by his hand and dragged him inside, but you were stopped by the recruit

"I can't bring him into our world, he-"

"Either we go together or i'm staying here and for your information we are all about to die so hurry up" you angrily growled and pushed Abbacchio inside the portal, soon following him.

Now, you two were safe. You could finally live your life with no empires, no emperors, no guards, nothing. Just a normal, simple life.

With your return you, firstly, explained what happened to all the scientists participating at the experiment, while the mages were finding a solution on making a temporary potion for Leone, to make him speak english. Sort of what your potions did, but with the oppostie effect.

Then, you spent your time explaining your new boyfriend how things worked in your world. It took you several months and you were still far from explaining everything, but everything wasn't needed. We, humans, still don't know everything and we're far from doing it, so just the essential basics were okay for Abbacchio.

You also did what had to be done with Giorno's 'present', giving some space to a completely new future for you and for your blooming relationship with Abbacchio, for your new family.

"You know what? I'm glad that i'm here. This world of yours is way calmer than what i was used to. I have all i need here, you most importantly, i love you Y/N"
