《Idol War (VKOOK)》After party

Jungkook and Hoseok show up to the party right at 11:30.
The room is full of people, there's a bar on the far right and a dance floor to the left.
Crew members stand in their own circles, beer in hand as they drink together.
The music blasts loudly and the lighting is dim, causing a sort of- club like vibe as the only real light that shows is purple and an off-white colour.
Jungkook stays by Hoseok's side as they push passed the crowd of people, trying to find some familiar faces.
"Hey there's Jimin." Hoseok suddenly says, pointing to the dance floor.
Jungkook looks over to see the short boy sensually dancing to a bass boosted song while Yoongi watches from next to him.
"Yoongi is eye fucking him, I'd rather not go over there." Jungkook says, causing Hoseok to stumble over his feet.
"Yah Jungkookie, you're just a baby, don't say words like that!" Hoseok says, earning a punch in the shoulder.
"Hyung you just brought me to a party with drinking and people grinding on each other- I think I'm old enough to swear."
With a chuckle from Hoseok, the two boys continue to walk through the big room, deciding to stop at the bar for their first drink of the night. But Jungkook has a little issue.
"I'm not going to be allowed." Jungkook whispers his friend once they arrive to the bar. Hoseok completely ignores Jungkook though, waving for the bartender to come over.
"Can I have 8 shots of vodka please." Hoseok asks, earning a nod from the bartender.
And Jungkook's mouth is open wide as he stares at his Hyung, collecting the shots in front of the younger boy.
"You get four, I get four." Hoseok grabs his first shot, taking it down like a pro and slamming the shot glass onto the table.
Jungkook gulps.
"Hobi I-"
"Drink."
Jungkook nods, grabbing the first shot and tilting his head back as the liquid glides down his throat. It automatically burns, and Jungkook releases a small cough before eyeing his friend.

"Not bad. But you can do better." Hoseok laughs, taking another shot easily.
Jungkook rolls his eyes, quickly reaching for the next one and downing it without hesitating.
It still stings and Jungkook wants to cough, but he tries to hold it in so Hoseok doesn't make fun of him.
Hoseok is already done his shots, putting his last glass down before watching Jungkook.
"Go on! You only have two more." Hoseok says, taking a seat on the chair next to where Jungkook stands.
Hoseok leans his elbow on the table as he watches Jungkook lift up his third glass, bringing it to his mouth.
He downs the alcohol, bringing the glass away from his mouth as he makes a slight face.
"One more." He lets out a breath before eyeing the last cup.
However another hand is reaching for the last shot, and Jungkook is about to tell the man to stop when he looks up.
"Taehyung?"
Taehyung slides the cup across his cheek til it reaches his mouth, cupping the glass with his palm before downing the shot. It all looks too natural and he doesn't even react when putting the glass down onto the table.
"You don't want to get drunk just yet, do you Jungkookie?" Taehyung scrunches his eyebrows together, pouting his mouth.
And Jungkook is taken aback at how strange Taehyung is acting.
"It was just one more, I would be fine." Jungkook complains, however his eyes find Taehyung's chest, slowly skimming down to check the boy out.
He wears a slightly loose, white button up with a black tie. His jeans are tight and black with rips, the rips showing a big amount of the boys thick thighs.
And Jungkook feels his head spinning a little, he licks his lips and looks back up to Taehyung.
Taehyung smirks once he's noticed Jungkook's full eye evaluation.
Hoseok suddenly pushes himself up from his chair and leans over to Jungkook, whispering something into his ear.
"I'm going to go find Jin. I can't stand watching you eye fuck Taehyung." Hoseok slurs his words before pushing himself away from Jungkook and disappearing into the crowd.

Jungkook's cheeks grow red as he watches his friend walk away, leaving him alone with Taehyung.
"So Jungkook, do you want another drink? Since I stole yours?" Taehyung suddenly says, beckoning do the bartender to come over just like Hoseok did before.
"But you aren't old enough to drink? You don't have ID?" Jungkook says however Taehyung is pulling out a card from his wallet just as Jungkook stops talking.
He flashes it to the bartender, earning a nod before turning back to Jungkook.
"So, what do you want?" Taehyung smirks. Jungkook grows hot as he stares at Taehyung, unsure what to say.
"I uh.... I don't know-"
"I'll have two Gin and Tonics." Taehyung orders, stepping back from the bar so he can face Jungkook.
"How did you..."
"I have my ways." Taehyung says before he's taking a seat at the bar, pulling out a chair for Jungkook to sit in.
The black haired boy takes a seat next to Taehyung, anxiously tapping his fingers together as the bartender comes back with their drinks.
He hands one to Jungkook and one to Taehyung. The brown haired boy lifts his own.
"Cheers." He says, and Jungkook lifts his cup up, clinking them together before he takes a sip.
And the alcohol isn't as noticeable as the shots he just took. He hums in approval.
"You like?" Taehyung asks, raising his eyebrow.
"Mm hmm." Jungkook hums before taking another sip of his drink.
~
Both boys talk pretty casually to each other for a good amount of time. Sipping their Gin and Toncis, Jungkook finds out more about Taehyung's past.
And it's strange how they talk so casually, completely disregarding the slight tension they've been holding between each other. Jungkook wants to bring up the competition, or apologize for all he's done, but they're in a good conversation and it's different than their normal talks.
Hell, it's like this is the first time Jungkook's meeting Taehyung. He's calmer, kinder, more mature and definitely less aggressive and angry.
And Jungkook finds it quite intriguing how experienced Taehyung seems with his alcohol and his overall experience at parties.
"Is this your first real party?" Taehyung asks Jungkook, as if reading the boys mind.
Jungkook takes another sip of his drink, contemplating how to answer. He doesn't want Taehyung to laugh at him.
"Mm well.....yeah." Jungkook looks down at the table, laughing to himself.
"It doesn't seem like it." Taehyung says, causing Jungkook's eyes to dart up.
"Really?" Jungkook is surprised to see how serious Taehyung looks.
"Yeah. When I first arrive and saw you taking shots with Hoseok, you looked as if you've done it already." Taehyung says, earning a satisfied hum from the black haired boy.
"Good then. I guess I'm a natural." Jungkook says, downing the rest of his drink before smiling to the boy in front of him.
Taehyung is really glowing tonight, and Jungkook can't seem to take his eyes off of him. And the alcohol definitely isn't helping his situation.
"If you're such a natural, then let's see how you dance." Taehyung is suddenly standing up from his seat, grabbing Jungkook's hand and pulling him off his chair.
"Wh..what!"
But Jungkook is already being pulled to the dance floor where Taehyung is leading him, a big smirk growing on the brown haired boys face.
"Let's dance Jungkook." He says, stopping once they get to the dance floor.
And just as they hit the floor, the song Own It by Drake comes on. Taehyung looks over to Jungkook, licking his lips as he looks Jungkook up and down, from head to toe.
Jungkook shivers with Taehyung's eyes on him, feeling the need to satisfy the boy.
To keep Taehyung's eyes on him as long as he can.

Characters grow their powers with explicit stat blocks presented right in the text, including levels, attribute scores, and unlockable skill trees. Experience is accumulated by battling enormous monsters the size of buildings. Political intrigue and romance elements ramp up as the series progresses. I originally wrote this story after playing Monster Hunter with my niece. She was 12 at the time, already an avid reader, and wanted to read my other published books. I'm a licensed psychotherapist specializing in severe trauma so I tend toward darker fiction. I told her my usual books are too brutal for her but I'd write her something special. The result was this series, which has been praised by both teens and adults for its depth and universal appeal. It begins with an emphasis on cultural elements because I consulted with a trained anthropologist to craft this neolithic setting down to exacting social detail. After these opening chapters, it rapidly shifts to an action-packed adventure. The first 3 books are fully written as of November 2020, totalling approximately 69 chapters. The first book has been professionally edited already. The following two books require some editing which I'll do on a chapter-by-chapter basis as releases progress. I welcome reviews and comments. Writing is a passion, and reader engagement makes my labor all the sweeter.
