both of us sat on the sand by the beach beside each other while the sun was setting

"it's amazing" Alex said

"Yup it is" I said looking at the view

"No, I mean something else" he said "I meant being called dad, father, daddy or any other thing, it feels amazing, and I never thought I'd hear it too soon but I'm glad I did" Alex said

"I never thought that she will ever say this word to someone, never" I said "and it's weird and it shocked me when she said it on my birthday but then we talked and I figured out that you deserve this and she does too, so I told her that whenever she is ready she can say it to you and today was it" I said

"Thankyou for accepting this" he said

"It's nothing alex, this means so much to me, Evelyn has been smiling a lot and she is really happy for the past weeks, and this literally means a lot to me. I just want her to be safe and happy, nothing else I swear, she's everything to me" I said giving him a sad smile

"come here" he said opening his arms as I took a step to him and he wrapped his arms around me

"I'm sorry for leaving" he said

"why did you Alex? We could've been a happy family" I said

"They called me in Paris for work and the next week I come back, you're no where to be found, you changed your number, I couldn't reach you and I thought you didn't want me" he said

"I thought that I was just one of your one night stands" he said

"You know that's not true" he said cupping my cheeks

"But that all I thought about is this" I said

"No Becca, I would never think of you in this way, what we had is something I'd never forget, you were one of the closest people to me and after that night you meant more to me and now having a daughter with you is literally something else Becca, you're beautiful, independent, and caring. And I'm serious about this-" before I know what was happening I closed the distance between us and pressed my lips to him making him tense

"sorry, I didn't k..know -" before I could complete my sentence, Alex connected our lips together, my hands traveled to his hair as I clutched into them

soon both of us backed away to take a breath

"your lips is still as good as I remember" Alex whispered as he put a strand of my hair behind my ear

"shut up" I said

"I'm glad I saw you again Becs" he said pulling me to his chest before placing a kiss on the top of my head

" I'm glad too and thankyou for everything" I said as the sun disappeared and we just stayed in a cuddled position watching the view

"I'm really sorry for leaving" he said

"and I'm sorry for keeping this away from you but I did wait a whole week for you and I just thought you didn't want me so I went away" I said

"Becca, from now on, my house is your house, you'll have to sell that trash that I still don't believe that you used to live in and you're gonna work in my company" he said

"thanks Alex but no you're doing enough for eve and that's all it matters" I said

"No, you matter too Becca, and you mean a lot to me so it's nothing" he said as I placed a kiss on his cheek making him smile

"Mommy! Daddy! Look what uncle Nate got me" Evelyn said running to us as Alex took her to sit between his legs

"hey! I got you that! Not Nate!" Ethan yelled

"okay sorry, look what uncle Ethan got me, yay" Evelyn said with sarcasm dropping from her mouth

"Eve baby, you're not being kind" I said

"Sorry uncle E, thankyou for these" she said

"No worries kiddo," Ethan said

"Becca we need to talk" Katie said

"What's wrong?" I asked

"nothing is but this, whatever is happening between you both, I don't just like it but love it" she said

"I hate you! Nate take your wife away from me" I said hiding my blush as everyone laughed

Alex and Evelyn were whispering things to each other while I sat with the rest

"Sophie, would you like to stay with us today?" Alex asked

"mommy, daddy, can I stay?" Sophie asked

"No! I'm taking these two with me today" Ethan said

"No it's okay Ethan" i said

"We can look after them" Katie said

"No you 4 enjoy your day plus the three of us will have amazing time, we're gonna have a movie night and we'll dance to Disney songs, right girlies?" Ethan said as the girls cheered

"you are so weird Ethan" Nate said

"I don't know how you've been my best friend for all of these years" Alex said

"that hurt alex" Ethan said as everyone laughed at them

I enjoyed every single moment with them while just sitting by the beach with people I loved
