"Are you sure?" I asked Jo, raising my eyebrows. "You're not worried that I might lash out and kill everybody?"
Jo laughed and shrugged. "I'll admit, I'll make sure someone keeps a close eye on you." She told me and hugged me again. "But, of course, you have to come Riley."
"Really?"
She nodded and the hug ended. "Yes, as the bride I want you there."
"Alright then." I said. "But I don't have a dress and the wedding is literally in a matter of hours."
"Have no fear." Caroline beamed, appearing in the bedroom with a dress in her hands. "Caroline is here."
I smiled. "How-"
"I figured that Stefan and Bonnie would soon be able to trigger your emotions back before the wedding and when I saw this dress, I instantly thought of you."
Caroline unzips the bag that held the dress and my smile faded. "It's white?"
She nodded and looked worried. "Do you not like it?"
"I like it." I reassured her quickly. "But isn't the bride suppose to be the one in white."
"It doesn't matter Riley." Jo said. "Besides, my dress is way better."
I gasped and she laughed. "How are you holding up Jo?"
"Terrible." She confessed. "I have a hunch that I'm forgetting something. Plus I'm starving, I need to pee and my feet..." I laughed a little and she took a deep breath. "I'm just not okay, Riley."
I rest my hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, it's natural."
"Hopefully because I feel like a mess."
"Everything is going to be fine." I told her. "Don't worry, I'm sure the wedding will be perfect. Something to remember."
Jo nodded and took another deep breath. "It's nice having you back Riley."
I smiled. "It's good to be back." I said. "And to be welcomed back with open arms."
"Okay everybody we have to get ready." Elena announced and sent Jo a smile. "Especially our bride."
"Do you want to help Riley?" Bonnie offered. I shook my head. "Why not?"
I raised a brow. "Bonnie, you and I know makeup isn't my thing." She realised and nodded. "I'll just get myself ready."
"But we're doing your hair and makeup, Riley." Caroline told me and I sighed.
"I guess, if you're like Bonnie and won't give up, then be my guest." Caroline, Elena and Bonnie all cheered before dragging Jo to get her ready.
Jo sent me a smile and I chuckled, walking to spare bedroom in Jo's with my dress in my hand. Ric and the guys were at the Salvatore's to get ready.
I held the dress up against my body, noticing my bump poke out. I pursued my lips together and turned to the side to get a better look.
Shaking my head, I took a quick shower to refresh myself. I was loving the whole vamp speeding, it made my life so much easier and faster.

Once I got myself cleaned, I moisturised my skin before I slip on my dress. Caroline painted my finger and toenails white and it highly complemented my dress.
Looking at myself in the mirror, I raised a brow when I noticed the white lace of my underwear showing through the side of my dress. "Seriously." I whined, debating my options then shook my head.
"I guess we're going without." I decided, taking off my underwear. I ran my hands through my hair. "Very classy Riley."
I sat down the bed with my phone in my hands. I crossed my leg over the other, flicking through pictures of Kai and I. "I miss you, Malachai." I mumbled, staring at my favourite picture of us.
It was when Kai and I were at the beach, I'd snuck up behind him and took the photo. Kai was laughing and I was kissing his cheek. I wiped away my tears.
"Stupid pregnancy." I mumbled, blinking away the rest of my tears.
Soon the door opened and I glanced up seeing Elena, Caroline, Bonnie walk inside. All of them dressed in their bridesmaids dresses and each of them looked stunning.
"Riley, you look amazing." Elena complemented, I thanked her. "Now hair and makeup."
"And heels." Bonnie added, I groaned.
"Do I have to?"
"Yes!" The three of them said and I held up my hands in defence, making them all laugh.

"Matt." I called and took a hold of his arm to stop myself from falling.
He laughed and wrapped his arm me to keep me balanced. I grinned. "I'm guess heels aren't your thing."
I shook my head. "No I like it when my feet actually touch the ground."
Matt chuckled, he look rather handsome in his suit. He kept ahold of me while we walked into the venue, I had already seen Jo and she looked breathtaking in her wedding dress.
I, myself looked decent. Elena has straightened my hair and styled it back. While Bonnie and Caroline applied on very light makeup, because it was what I asked for.
My heels were a light blue, which really went well with my dress. "I'm glad you're back, Riley." Matt told me.
"Glad to be back." I flashed him a smile. "By the way, I'm so sorry about the whole wrong name and cutting your throat and-"
"Riley, it's fine." Matt forgave while we continued walking inside along with the other guests.
It was gorgeous inside and I adored bouquets of white flowers that were decorated everywhere. "Wow, look at that." I nudged Matt's arm and pointed at the chandelier that light's reflected against the massive collection of windows behind.
"It's amazing."
"It's beautiful." I said, looking around the rest of the venue. My arm wrapped around one of Matt's for support. I smiled but it faded when something caught my eye from outside.
I thought, not believing my eyes.
"Kai?" I whispered, sitting at the end of the row next to Matt. I looked around to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.

"What?" Matt asked. I snapped from my thoughts and glanced at him.
"Nothing, it's just..." I trailed off and bounced my leg. "I'll be right back."
"Riley-"
"I know, I just have to check on something." I told Matt, hurrying outside of the barn.
It was tough to run in my heels and I nearly tripped several times. "It can't be him." I mumbled, looking around but all I saw was the car park in the nightlight.
I spun around and walked to the window, I was certain that I saw him. Sadness and disappointment washed over me when I didn't see anybody around and I bit my lip, blinking away my tears.
"Riley, he's gone." I reminded myself and placed my hand over my bump. "It's just you and your baby."
"Riley." I turned around and looked at Stefan. He raised a brow. "The wedding is inside."
I walked over to him. "Sorry."
He gave me a concerned look. "Everything okay?"
I nodded. "I just needed some fresh air, all I could smell was blood." I lied, the blood wasn't affecting me as much lately.
"Are you feeling okay?" Stefan asked me, wrapping his arm around me while he guided me back inside. I nodded.
"I'm fine, Stefan." I reassured and gave him a warm smile. "But thank you."
I made my way back to Matt, sitting down next to him. "Where'd you go?"
I shook my head and more people filled the seats inside the barn. I pushed aside my own pain to be happy when the music began which signalled Jo's entrance.
Everyone rose to their feet and I held Matt's arm for some support, while Jo was guided down the aisle with her father. I looked at Ric and the smile he held on his face showed that this woman was meant to be with him forever.
His eyes never dared to leave her, almost as if he was terrified to miss a single detail. I inhaled to conceal myself from crying, their love was so pure.
Jo held her father's arm while she walked down the aisle and her eyes stayed locked with Ric's. I smiled at the sight. "They're so perfect for each other." I whispered to Matt. He nodded and hastily wiped underneath his eye. "Are you crying?"
"I'm a man, I don't cry." He teased. I chuckled.
"Men are suppose to cry Matt." I told him, never taking my gaze off of Jo and Ric.
Soon Jo made it to Ric and he didn't hesitate to kiss her softly. We all took our seats and I sat up straight to watch them. "You look perfect." I heard him whisper to her. "I love you."
My hand went to my mouth. "I love you more." Jo replied.
Ric smiled. "Impossible."
I wiped my own eye and then frowned. "Not now." Matt glanced at me. "I have to pee, tell me what I miss."
"Great timing Riley."
I rolled my eyes and hummed. "Blame the baby."
He grinned. "Besides, what's the worst that can happen?"
"Jo gets cold feet?" I joked. Matt laughed.
"Yeah right."
I shrugged and stood up, vamp speeding to the toilets. "Thank you vampirism." I muttered, entering the toilets. I did my business and washed my hands afterwards.
I checked my makeup because a few tears had escaped. I carefully wiped away the smudged mascara before grinning.
"You look perfect Ri."
"Kai." I spun around and was only greeted by no one. I took a step forward and bit my lip.
"I'm trying." I told myself. "Please just get out of my head."
I shut my eyes for a few moments and nodded. "Calm down Riley." I looked back at the mirror and rested my hands on the counter, leaning in to my reflection. "Kai's gone. It's just you."
I paused and my eyes fell to my stomach. "You and your baby."
"You're one special baby." I told my baby, rubbing my bump with my hand.
While quickly doubling checking my teeth for any signs of fangs or blood, the sounds of screams and glass shattering hit my ears. I rose an eyebrows and stood up straighter. "What the hell?"
I rushed to the door and frowned when it didn't open. I whacked it with my hand and cursed. "What the..."
"Jo!" I heard Ric cry and my stomach dropped. I stood back and punched the door, watching my fist break through the wood.
"What?" I wondered, yanking off the lock that I never noticed beforehand. I vamp sped back to the ceremony and gasped, my eyes widened and jaw dropped.
Blood.
It was everywhere.
My throat burned and my hunger itched to be pleased. I could smell it all around me, feeling my fangs extend slightly.
"Riley don't." I told myself, fighting the temptation as I fought the veins that wanted to appear under my eyes. "These people might still be alive. You're not a killer."
I shut my eyes. "You're not a killer." I repeated until I felt any form of vampirism fade away.
"Riley!" I heard someone shout. My eyes opened and I looked up at Damon.
Running as fast as I could in those heels, i made it over to him and crouched down as he was. My eyes widened when I saw Elena was unconscious, blood around her mouth.
"What happened?" I asked, swallowing the desire. "Who did this to her? To everyone?"
"It's was-" I didn't hear the rest of Damon's answer because someone grabbed me. "Riley!"
I struggled, elbowing the person and held them against the wall by their throat. I bared my vampire expression ready to please my hunger with their blood.
But I stopped myself and dropped them into the ground. I took a few steps backwards and brought my hand to my mouth. My face faded back to normal and I just stared in utter shock.
"Kai?"

The Tales of YAP: The Superhero Series
“Listen well, and listen kindly, for my story is a story of contradictions; of the dead becoming alive and the weak becoming strong. Likewise, those nominated as the strong are reduced into the weakest of foes. And lovers, those sweet companions, are nothing but crazed psychopaths. This is the type of story I will tell. The story only I can speak of for it is solely mine. And now, as I recount it to you, thence forth it shall belong to all that hear of it. Listen well, then, for I shall begin.”Sooo, that’s it. The world isn’t what it is. The dead are alive. The weak become strong. And bla bla bla. The normal days of a superhero-in-training, I suppose. I hope you have a bit of patience because my story is a long one, and it starts out in the same old, boring world. My name is Yassi Anne P. Sorento, and this is my story before I became the superhero I am today. (First posted on Webnovel with the same title and under the name, Hua_Li_An.)
