《Rise of the Dark Council (Star Wars x Male Sith Reader)》Chapter 9: The Grave of the Eternal Empire

Y/N POV
Once again, I stood on the bridge of the Revenged, staring out into the void of space.
During the meeting, I had mentioned about the Mandalorians who raided my office and stole the Darksaber. Given how quickly, they neutralized the security in my tower. One thing that was obvious was we would need an upgrade in political security.
And that leads us to now you see. Some time ago, there was a faction in the galaxy known as the Eternal Empire, what happened to them I didn't know, but their soldiers were some of the best equipped in the galaxy.
Our aim was to travel to their supposed homeworld of Zakuul and acquire some of their old technology.
Which is why I was back on my ship. I didn't know what to expect from the homeworld of the 'Eternal Empire'.
I then heard one of my soldiers on the bridge saying "We're coming up on Zakuul now." As soon as he said this we pulled out of lightspeed and entered Zakuul's orbit. I turned to some of the soldiers and said "Keep the ship in orbit, I will take a squadron of troopers down to the planet's surface and see what I can find.
They all spoke in unison saying "Yes sir." I then ordered a small group of about six soldiers to follow me out of the bridge and down to one of the hangars where there was a Sentinel Class Shuttle awaiting.
Image of a Sentinel Class Shuttle:
You may be wondering where I got the shuttle from, and to answer that question, we stole it during the time our fleet was being built.
The shuttle took off and travelled down into Zakuul's upper atmosphere. And it was at this moment I was almost completely blown away by what I saw. We weren't even under the clouds yet there were large pointed structures jutting out over the skyline.

Image of Zakuul:
My focus turned to one structure in particular. It appeared to be a tower, taller than all the others with a large glass orb on top. I turned to the soldier piloting the shuttle and pointed at the structure saying "There. Land there."
"Yes sir." Was all he said as we docked on a landing zone and a tube ejected from the building and instantly latched onto our ship.
We walked through the tube before entering the structure. Once inside I instantly felt a strange ripple in the force. I instantly turned to my soldiers and said "You six, look for anything that may be of use. Stash them in the crates on the shuttle. Set off a beacon when you're done. I have other business to deal with."
They all nodded and walked off down one of the hallways, I went down another, following the strange presence in the force. And that's when I saw it.
An old man, stood at the end of the hallway, just staring at me.
Image of the mysterious old man:
(For those wondering isn't Valkorion dead. That will come into effect as a plot point later in the book.)
I instantly addressed him "Hey you!" Instead of answering, he just walked around the corner, out of view. I broke into a run, trying to catch up with the man however when I rounded the corner, I was surprised to see that he had seemingly teleported to the other end of this new hallway.
At this, I was beginning to get angered as I sprinted in his direction only for him to walk out of sight and seemingly teleport to the end of the hallway. This continued on for some time until I eventually found myself in a large throne room of sorts.

Sat on the throne before me was that same old man, staring at me with a blank expression on his face. I slowly entered into the throne room before asking the stranger "Who are you?!" The old man chuckled before saying "My dear boy, my name is Valkorion. I was once ruler of this Eternal Empire which you stand upon the remains of."
I would have been surprised but there was something else that puzzled me. You see, I had heard stories from the ghosts of both my mother AND Darth Marr about Valkorion, apparently he was the one responsible for my ancestor's death.
My point is, in these stories, I had been told Valkorion had a gruff, deep voice. However here he sounded completely different. Almost as if this wasn't REALLY him and was instead, someone using mind tricks to make me THINK it was him. Regardless, he continued "Our meeting has been a long time coming Y/N. You dress like your ancestor I see. Interesting."
I snapped at him "Cut to the chase, you know why I'm here." He chuckled again "That I do, you are here to take something. You may have it, however you will do something for me in return." Before I could respond, I received a message from my strike team.
"Sir, we've got the cargo on the shuttle and are ready to take off." I spoke "Very well, I'll be there shortly." I turned off the communicator before turning back to 'Valkorion' and saying "I appreciate the audience, but I no longer have any need for your offer. Farewell." With that I turned out of the door.
Entirely unaware of who truly orchestrated what had just happened.
Author's Note: That's it for this chapter, I'll admit, just like the others it was quite difficult to write. But nonetheless, I hope you liked it and as always, thanks for reading.

Two hundred years ago, the Calamity occurred, an event which changed the terrain and climates of the world immensely, shifting continents and regions, developing new religions and altering life itself. The existence of magic and monsters was no longer able to be concealed, and until the Sage came and ended the Calamity, the world lived in chaos. Now, two hundred years later, two primary forces in the globe, united under a single government, oversee all magical and supernatural crime and disruptions, working from the shadows and in the light to ensure the safety of all. Something has upset the delicate balance the Sage created, however, and monsters sightings occur more and more frequently, and the signs of a second Calamity have begun to reveal themselves. At the same time, young superhumans begin training to fight against the forces causing this, to protect the mundane from monsters, and to ensure ancient artifacts are preserved and secured. Transferring to another world and gaining special powers is a dream for some, but if they were dropped into my shoes... they'd probably give up. But I won't. This story has the following elements: Male MC Light RPG mechanics (no in-story stat tables) Non-standard class for the MC Moderate violence A mix of solo fights and group battles with a balance of tactics, skill and ability usage If you're looking for the below, you may be disappointed: Instantly overpowered MC (no prior skills in combat, every bit of growth is earned) Female MC (duh) Explicit sex (may be referenced, but no NSFW chapters) Health bars (damage taken and given reflects reality) Harem Gore and ultra-violence **This story is a First Draft, changes may take place during the process. Three chapters per week at minimum.** **So, this is set up as a GameLit transported to a new world story initially, but it focuses on how such a system would work in real life. There are levels, abilities and mana pools, but damage and health are realistic and combat is fast and frantic. I think that is an interesting mix. If you have any questions, just ask in the comments. I'm always happy to discuss anything in relation to the story.**
