"It's ok, we'll get you out of here." He reassured me.
He finished off the last knot.
"Can you stand?" He asked.
"I t-think so." I responded.
I tried to stand up from the chair, but I was too weak to even do that. He picked me up and started to carry me outside. I started shivering, badly.
"What did they do to you?" He asked angrily.
He let himself heat up more and I immediately got warmer. I stopped shivering after a few more minutes.
"D-Do the teachers know you're here?" I asked.
"We were supposed to wait for them to arrive, but Bakugo charged in so we just had to follow him." He explained.
Once we were a safe distance away, Todoroki stopped walking.
"You should go back and help. I'll be fine." I told him.
"No, I'm not going to leave you. You're already weak, and if I left you out here you might die of hypothermia." He said.
To be honest, I was kind of glad he was staying. I didn't want to be alone again after all this time.
After a while, the noise and explosions died down.
"Do you think it's over?" I asked.
"Let's go see." He said.
We started walking back towards the hideout. Most of the place was reduced to rubble. I saw heroes checking around to see if any villains or survivors were left. Ambulances had arrived started taking the injured away. Todoroki brought me over to one and I was taken away. The last thing I remember before drifting into unconsciousness was Todoroki's warmth fading away.

I woke a brighter room and warm air, although not as hot as before. The mattress and pillows were a lot more comfortable than the chair I was kept in before. I blinked a few times and looked around. The room was basically empty except for some chairs, a small table by the bed, and a window that was letting daylight inside. I heard the door creak open.

"Oh, good. You're awake." The nurse said.
She checked my vitals and IV.
"Are you hungry?" She asked.
"Yeah, a little." I responded.
She went back out of the room to get food. I let out a long sigh. The last week had been terrible, I was so happy I was finally gone from that awful place. There were a few moments I had just sat there and wondered if this was how I would die. The whole situation had made me realize just how important my life was. I knew I would have to train harder and become strong enough to prevent something like that from happening again. The nurse came back in with a tray of food.
"Thanks." I said as she set it down.
"Do you need anything else?" She asked kindly.
"No, I'm ok." I replied.
She smiled and left. I started to eat.
I was almost finished when I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." I said.
The door opened and almost all of the class poured into the room.
"Oh wow."

The greatest foe that man shall face lies within himself: his own mind. It can contort the world around him and make friends seem like enemies. Windwalker
Having subdued its surrounding enemies, the former Sulic Empire is faced with unrest brewing from within. Society is torn in two. The reigning mentalists constantly persecute the subjugated elementals under the pretence of curbing the explosive potential of their destructive powers. Meanwhile, schemes and political interests clash as different groups within the Governance military elite vie for control. And in the shadows, Sulic’s old enemies have been lying in wait a long time, looking for the first sign of weakness to make their move. Against this backdrop, two ordinary individuals fight to maintain stability from opposing sides: a low ranking telepathic recruit with nothing to his name but good intentions, and an unregistered elemental contractor with a murky past. Can they reconcile their differences and help steer Sulic away from tearing itself apart? Windwalker explores themes of societal struggle and self-discovery. Book One: Rising Wind Kal has trained to be a soldier his entire life. His days are simple, and his duties clear: enforce the rules, upkeep the peace, and most important — police the elementals. If they step out of line, the Governance system corrects it. But when Kal encounters a young boy whom he suspects might be an illegal earthborn, he can’t bring himself to report him. Despite his training and the advice of friends, he decides to help him onto what he believes is the right path. This choice lands him in more trouble than he bargained for, and he soon discovers that the veneer the Governance is built upon an ugly and crumbling foundation.
