《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 32-Calvary Battle

"And now, let the Calvary Battle begin!" Midnight shouted.
Several teams immediately ran for Izuku's team.
"Don't go for them yet. We'll get to them after the dust settles and they've been worn down." Todoroki said.
I still felt wobbly on my skates and worried I would fall and take the whole team down.
"Let's go for one of the smaller groups while we wait for a chance." Todoroki said.
We looked around for a small group with less defenses. Momo pointed out Rin's team from Class 1B. They only had two people, Rin and Shishida. They should be easy to take out. We glided closer to them, and Todoroki took the initial attack by freezing them in place. Shishida broke out using his quirk and charged head on at us. Todoroki formed a low wall of ice, close enough to the ground that Shishida didn't see it and kept charging at us, his full attention still on our team. He tripped over the barrier and sent the both of them into a sprawling heap. We glided by and stole their headbands with ease.
"Nice job, Todoroki." I said.
"Let's see if we can get another team before we go after Midoryia." He barely acknowledged my comment.
We nodded and looked around for a target. Iida pointed out Kamikiri's team. They only had two people as well, Kamikiri and Tsunotori. We headed straight for them and they saw us coming. Todoroki and Kaminari battled against them. I was about to attack, but I saw something in the corner of my eye. I turned around just in time to see Mineta's team coming up behind us. They clearly meant to ambush us while we were distracted. My reflexes kicked in and I sent a blast of ice at them, freezing them in place. The rest of the team had already stolen Kamikiri's team's headbands.
"Nice reflexes Todoroki." Momo complimented, thinking it was him who had saved us from the ambush.
"That wasn't me." He said, looking back at me.
I returned his gaze.

"You're getting better with your ice." He pointed out.
I shrugged.
"Well nice job, y/n." Momo shifted her praise towards me.
I gave a slight smile.
"Let's head for Midoryia's team. It definitely seems like they've taken a toll from all the other team's attacks." Todoroki said.
We headed for their team, but noticed several others were doing the same.
"We can't let them interfere. Y/n, I need you to back up my ice so we can freeze all of them." Todoroki said.
I nodded and got ready. Todoroki sent out a strong blast of ice, and I followed his lead. Together, we froze all the other teams heading for Izuku's team. Now it was just us against them. They were against the corner, and had no where left to run. Tokoyami sent Dark Shadow to attack, but Momo made a shield for protection. Dark Shadow recoiled and returned to Tokoyami.
"I have a plan to get their headbands. I can allow my engines to go on overdrive, and go on maximum speed. It will cause them to stall, though. We must grab their headbands quickly if we wish to get them at all." Iida explained.
We all nodded and I braced myself. Iida suddenly shot off, taking us with him. I thought I would fall off, but I held on for my life. In the blink of an eye, we were already past them. But I saw Todoroki holding the ten million point headband. I smiled.
"Nice job guys. Now we can just wait it out." I said.
They nodded and Iida's engines slowed to a stop. We were a far distance away from anyone else, and we could defend if anyone tried to get the headband. I could tell, even from a distance, that Izuku's team was panicking. I looked around the arena and saw Bakugo fighting Monoma's team. The time limit was almost up, we just had to hold the headband a little longer. I saw Izuku's team going after us again.
"Looks like they want the headband back." I watched them come closer.

Todoroki nodded.
"I'll put it in between the other headbands, they'll probably think the ten million one is on top." He said.
Todoroki rearranged the headbands around his neck, and we prepared to defend. It looked like they were heading for our left side, possibly so Todoroki couldn't defend himself. I knew Todoroki still didn't want to use his fire side, and I'm sure Izuku knew that too. There was one thing they had underestimated, though.
I'm on the left side too.
Todoroki saw through their plan and started to speak.
"Y/n-" I cut him off.
"I know." I said simply.
We locked eyes and I could see trust in his gaze. I was a little surprised, but we had been through a lot together. Now it was my time to save him.
"They're coming." Momo warned.
I watched their team advance, coming closer with every step. I got ready to use my quirk. I suddenly had an idea, though. It might not work, but I was willing to try.
Instead of putting my hand towards them to freeze them like I had planned, I put it to the ground. I felt the water residing under, and water around me. I focused, but kept my eyes trained on them. I had to get this timing perfect, or else we would fail.
I suddenly sent a surge of water into the ground, changing the consistency of the dirt into mud. Izuku's team sank into it and I sucked all the water out. The mud changed into brittle, packed dirt, leaving them stuck. The dirt around our team hadn't changed, but they seemed as stuck and astonished as the other team.
"What the heck was that?" Kaminari finally asked.
I shrugged.
"Just an idea I had." I replied.
The time limit suddenly ran out, and we were still in first place. We lowered Todoroki off our shoulders, and I took off the headband that was still around my head.
"Nice job guys!" I congratulated them.
I gave everyone a high-five before we had to go back to the center. Thanks to Tokoyami, Izuku's team was still in the game. He had been stealing points from other teams while they hadn't been paying attention. All the teams that hadn't made it left the arena and went into the stands to watch. Midnight began to explain the next event when Ojiro interrupted her.
"Excuse me? Um, I'd like to withdraw. I don't think it would be fair for me to advance when I don't even remember what I did half the time." He spoke up.
Whispers passed between students.
"Withdraw? Why would you withdraw?" Someone asked, confused why you would want to miss the chance to advance in the Sports Festival.
"Idiot..." I heard someone else murmur.
"Look, I don't want to advance if I can't take credit for winning." Ojiro said.
"Me neither." Shoda stepped forward as well.
They had both been on the same team, was that a coincidence?
"I don't remember anything I did during that round, and I don't want to advance if I can't prove my own worth by my own hand." Shoda further strengthened their resolve.
"Are you sure? You'd be giving up your spot and your chance at winning." Midnight still seemed a little confused at why they would forfeit.
They both nodded.
"Well then, let the game continue! Two students from the fifth place team will be moved up join in the battles. Make your decision quickly!" Midnight said.
It was Kendo's team who had claimed fifth, but she stepped up to say something else.
"I think Tetsutetsu's team should be advancing! They fought much harder than us in the battle. Let two of them advance instead." Kendo cut in.
"Alright...well Tetsutetsu's team must chose two members to advance instead." Midnight seemed a little annoyed at this point.
Tetsutetsu's team talked for a few minutes before responding.
"Me and Ibara will be continuing!" Tetsutetsu announced over-enthusiastically.
"Then it is decided! Let the Sports Festival continue!"

Magic. Math. Not a whole lot of context. Two months ago, I was a wormhole navigator, ripping open a hole in the universe to save a ship of people who only vaguely tolerated me. Two weeks ago, long story short, I threaded an impossible path through the void between dimensions to crash-land into a dungeon. You know the kind: monsters to defeat, corridors full of traps to avoid, and magical powers to earn. I'm not ashamed to admit that it's been two weeks of loneliness, fear, adrenaline, and constant injury. But I'll make it out of here by myself if I have to, or my name isn't Adam Leviathan James. ... too bad the Levi doesn't stand for Leviathan, huh. AN: Expectations should include in medias res, violence, smut, friendship, and powers/progression systems with absolutely an insufficiency of context and (at least at first) no definitions or explanations, and magic-as-programming/engineering (with something of an emphasis on "what if magical runework were an analogue to circuit diagrams"). This story used to be called "Yet Another Godsforsaken Isekai". Discord server: https://discord.gg/dHh3XMMB4T Cover by the amazing Daedalus of The Way Ahead.

Majority Rule
Readers choose from a selection of options for participants of a survival game show known as "Can Anyone Beat Level 10?". Each level has some monsters to kill and a boss at the end. Treasure chests and traps are available. Treasure chests, if opened successfully, give decent weapons, first aid kits, etc. If unsuccessful, treasure chests will either explode, taking some health from player or do become permanently closed. Monsters in dungeon levels depend on the theme of the week. This game show occurs on the first week of every month. The game just showed up out of nowhere and many people were interested in it as they attended the live version of the show. As for its mysteries...well, who knows? Maybe someone will solve them some day. But, for now, let the games begin! This is a story that depends on the votes of the viewers using the poll system. I will probably wait a week or so per poll in order to accumulate enough votes. After the week is up, viewers can still vote but it won't affect the story. This is my first interactive fiction so it might not be on par with the better ones. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed reading this story. Thanks.
