《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 48-Endeavor

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rest of the week went by fast, and soon enough it was Monday, the first day of my internship. I was waiting in the common room for Todoroki, since we had agreed to go together to get there. Plus I had no idea where the agency was.
If I was being honest, I was actually kind of nervous. Endeavor seemed very harsh, especially from the way Todoroki described him. With everything I'd been told, it was getting harder to predict how my internship would go.
Todoroki finally arrived and we left.
"Don't worry, I won't let him be too hard on you." Todoroki assured me as we walked.
I just nodded. Was I really that readable? He always seemed to know what I was feeling.
After a few buses and some walking, we arrived at the Endeavor Agency. I stared at the entrance for a few moments before following Todoroki inside. One of the assistants greeted us as soon as we were inside.
"Welcome! Endeavor has been waiting for you, right this way." She greeted us.
She led us through one of the hallways and stopped at a large set of doors.
"Right inside there." She said.
Todoroki nodded and thanked her before opening the doors. I had seen Endeavor in person once before, at the Sports Festival. He had intimidated me then and he still did now. He was just sitting at his desk waiting for us.
"You're here. Good." He gave a short welcome.
I stood there and waited for him to say something else while Todoroki had a sort of angry aura around him. He definitely didn't seem that happy to be here. I couldn't really blame him though.
On the way here, I had asked Todoroki why he seemed to hate his father so much. He didn't tell me everything, but just a little about his childhood and how he'd gone to see his mother recently. It took me a little while to process it, but it was a pretty long bus ride. When he told me about how I had helped him accept his power at the Sports Festival, I was glad. I was just happy I was able to help him through what he had been going through, even if I hadn't known about it.
Endeavor talking again shook me out of my thoughts.
"Before we begin, I'd like to talk to y/n alone for a few minutes." Endeavor said.
My breath caught in my throat for a second. Todoroki glared at him, obviously not wanting to leave me alone with him. They had an intense staring match which only lasted for a couple of seconds, but it felt like decades. I looked back and forth between them, waiting to see who would back down first. Finally, Todoroki looked away.
"Fine. A few minutes." Todoroki conceded.
He walked out and closed the door behind him. A few moments later, Endeavor began to speak.
"Hmm. He seems quite overprotective of you. I wonder why. Well in any case, you're probably wondering why I wanted you to intern here in the first place. I was watching you at the Sports Festival. You were able to get him to use his fire, something he's been refusing to do for a while now. Seeing this, I began to wonder if it was just a one time thing or if he would continually use it. I've decided to take a rather cautious route, I want you to make sure he-" Endeavor explained.
He was cut off by the doors bursting open. Todoroki came back into the room, he seemed more furious than ever.
"Is the only reason you wanted her to come here to convince me to use my fire?! I should be able to make that choice on my own, without you bribing my friends persuade me! Y/n was going to an internship to learn, even if she came to this one by mistake! You're supposed to be teaching us, and I won't use my fire until you agree to train both of us equally here!" Todoroki glared directly at his father.
I was a little surprised at Todrooki's outburst. Endeavor seemed a bit shocked too. There was no way I would do what Endeavor had wanted, but I was still glad Todoroki was sticking up for me. I definitely felt everything he had said was true, for me at least. Even though I came here by accident, I had hoped I would learn at least a little bit while I was here. I should've seen this coming though, I didn't really think Endeavor would want to take me on for the sole purpose of teaching me.
Turning my attention back to the situation at hand, I watched Endeavor do one of the last things I expected him to do, he laughed. It was more of a sarcastic laugh though, like he was laughing at our stupidity.
"You must've been listening through the door. I should've expected that. Very well, I'll teach you both. It wasn't like I was going to completely ignore y/n anyway, I just wanted to see if she'd be willing to do this as well." Endeavor said.
Todoroki sill looked kind of angry, but he seemed to have calmed down at least a little.
Meanwhile, I was just stuck in the middle of them, not really sure what to say or do. There was silence for a few moments as they both glared at each other again.
The silence was broken by a different assistant coming in.
"Sir, those special clients have arrived." The man said.
Endeavor nodded.
"I have some business to take care of. Shoto, take y/n to the training room and begin working, I'll be there as soon as I can." He ordered.
Endeavor left and Todoroki looked at me for a few moments before turning to leave as well.
"Follow me."
