《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 50-Strength and Weakness

"Ready? Go!" I started the fight.
Todoroki sent an immediate fire attack, differing from his usual strategy. I dodged it just in time by floating up on a cloud.
"Watch it! We don't have Recovery Girl here!" I warned him.
"Sorry." He apologized.
I floated back down and the fight continued. I sent sharp shards of ice at him. The ice started to slow down though, and then it stopped. The shards started coming back towards me, slowly but it was still going. I suddenly realized what was happening, Todoroki was controlling my ice.
I pushed harder and the shards completely stopped in the middle. It wavered in its position, but didn't get much closer to either of us. We were both in deep concentration while trying to control it. I was actually kind of proud of Todoroki for learning my technique and using it against me. He found a weakness and immediately looked for a way to counter it. I would have a hard time taking control of his ice now.
My concentration weakened and it moved a little closer to me. Todoroki hadn't been doing this for as long as me, and I could see he wasn't going to hold out for much longer. I let a little bit of my control slip, and it starting going towards me again, making him think he would win. It was about three quarters of the way there when I suddenly put a lot more force into it. His concentration broke. He let his control on the ice go and ducked as the ice shards flew past his head. The ice became embedded deeply into the wall. Todoroki stood back up and looked at it.
"I'm glad I ducked." His face was still neutral but his voice held a joking tone.

I nodded. Even though he thought it was a bit funny, I didn't want to think about what might've happened if he hadn't dodged.
I sent a blast of water at him, and he countered with his fire. We went at it for a couple minutes like this, but then I gave out and dodged to the side to avoid getting burned. I made it foggier and sent another blast of water at him. He countered it with fire again, but I let it drop quickly. I got closer to him, intending to surprise him and freeze him in place at contact. I reached out to freeze him, but his reflexes kicked in. He turned to my direction and grabbed my arm, stopping me.
I made a split second decision and put more of my weight against him, making him lose his balance and sending both of us to the floor. I pinned him, but he was stronger than and was able to flip us over, so he was pinning me. I writhed in his grasp, but he definitely had me. I sighed and stopped moving. I was about to announce my surrender when I heard someone clear their throat from the doorway. Todoroki immediately got off me and looked to see who it was. I sat up and cleared the fog.
Endeavor stood there, looking at both of us.

World Revisit
Having no collection of her past, a confused young girl ends up in world unknown to her. A world with the nature as their source of life and magic, but at the same time also the cause of their despair and sorrow. The world seems to be facing a dangerous calamity. Being treated as an intruder, she will have to gain the trust of the people around her and find a way to live through this mess. With not much hope left, what can be done to prevent it? Nobody knows for sure, but a battle of life and death is bound to come. NOTE: Consider this story as the first version. I want to keep working on it so that the story can actually finish at one point for future development. I want to eventually make it a webtoon comic, but the story still needs to be written and the art still needs be improved. So I'll keep writing for now, but expect the final result to be much better than the story now. Until then, I hope we can have a great time together with this writing experiment. Thanks!
