《WANDS AND SPELLS | VKOOK ✓》01 | never ending rivalry

filled with fright and uncertainty lingered around the examination hall, thinking about what's gonna happen to his grades― a sigh melted into the cold air as Jeongguk rubbed his icky palms together. Hell, he shouldn't have wasted time on Netflix instead of studying.
"Fuck," he mumbled under his breath, staring at the question paper, answer script totally blank.
Confidence, well let's be more precise, overconfidence is his biggest enemy because he thought he will pass the test with sky touching marks even though he chose not to prepare for it one bit, yeah that's a delusional wizard there.
He didn't want to do this but yet he found himself slowly pulling out his wand (which was of course prohibited in the exam hall) that he hid in his sleeve. No wonder now why he wore that long sleeve shirt in this burning hot weather today.
The blond haired boy didn't know someone was watching him from behind. It was not just somebody, it was Kim Taehyung who happens to be Jeongguk's worst nightmare― his rival.
"Consequir de apantis!"
Jeongguk moved that wand of his in circular motion and little sparkles appeared those trailed down and surrounded the pen he kept on the table. The next moment, he smiled watching the pen write the answers on it's own. He ain't failing anymore.
To not be a part of any suspicion, he gently held that pen in such a way that people would think he is the one writing the answers. He again pushed that wand inside his sleeve and finally breathed in relief.
A wide smile appeared on his face but unfortunately that disappeared quite that instantly hearing that deep, dulcet voice echoing on the gold painted walls,
"Professor Moron!"
Jeongguk flinched and froze on his spot hearing that voice calling out the invigilator. He quickly turned around to see it was Taehyung― well that was very much expected from him.
Taehyung glared at him seeing how the pen was still writing down the answers while Jeongguk was looking at him. Such a cheater.
"Mr. Kim for magic's sake, it's not Moron, it's Moreon!" the one in front of everyone, sitting on the chair rectified but Taehyung wasn't interested to hear about his pronunciation issue, he had more important things to do that includes getting Jeongguk expelled from this exam.
"That's what I said― Professor Moron." he again pronounced it like he always does and the professor just huffed, crossing his arms over his chest, "Nevermind, what do you want?"
"Isn't bringing wands in here forbidden?" he said, a little more emphasis on the last word.

"Yes, it surely is." he informed and that just made Taehyung smirk at the blond sitting rows away from him whose heartbeat just went faster.
"I saw a wand with Jeongguk." the brunet exposed the other who widened his eyes and gulped before looking at the man in front.
"Do you have a wand with you, Mr. Jeon?" he asked, not even caring enough to go and check himself if there was anything like that.
"I do not, sir. I wouldn't dare." Jeongguk with a very calm tone said, his heavenly voice coated with zero signs of nervousness which was blasting inside.
"I don't see a wand and I trust you Mr. Jeon," the professor spoke with that smile plastered on his lips before shifting his gaze on Taehyung, "Mr. Kim I think you should just focus on your exam rather than looking around. You know time is ticking."
"Biased― I see professor." the brunet sighed. Well he should've expected this but still he was hopeful for a second.
"No fair but alright, at least you get your Christmas bonus haha," Taehyung replied, a sarcastic snort could be heard afterwards that didn't bother the owner of that unfairly prejudiced act against him the tiniest bit as he rolled his eyes and again focused on his phone.
Taehyung who was standing and had almost all the attention on him threw himself back on the chair and glared at the one smiling like he won the whole world with that lie.
"Fuck you." Taehyung held out his middle finger in the air resulting the other to send him a flying kiss in return.
Jeongguk was an arsehole.
Well not really― just in Taehyung's eyes (plus a few more) because he couldn't just stand him. The reasons were many.
Jeongguk being the headmaster and mage's (the most learned wizard with the most powerful wand to exist) son and getting all the privileges like the best room in the dormitory, getting extra marks, sitting for retests when no one else was allowed to― that was very unjust.
Taehyung was fuming with anger but there's nothing to do at this point as he is just regular kid here with no special treatments plus him doing anything more might just get himself expelled instead.
The hour passed faster than he thought and Taehyung was glad for that. He just wanted to get out and vent about this to his best friend who was sitting at one of the rows in front.
Park Jimin is all he needed at the moment. He is the only person who can deal with the anger inside without getting offended or irritated.

"Fucking hell, I wanna kill that motherfucker―" Taehyung grabbed the straps of his backpack and started squeezing the nonexistent life out of it as he walked out of the examination hall, Jimin running after him.
"Bro," Jimin called tapping his shoulder once he finally reached the other, "Why do you even try like you know we ain't able to do anything about that whore? You know it's useless."
"I know but he was cheating Jimin, he was fucking using magic to get the answers, that's not how things are supposed to be. I didn't just read whole night and the past week to see that, no!" Taehyung was blabbing while they made their way to their lockers which were just adjacent to each other.
"Okay calm down, wanna go for ultimate daddy Keanu Reeves movie marathon today or maybe we could play your favourite songs―"
"Jimin shut up. I am angry. Will punch you if you don't shut up―"
"I know what you're saying but that's nothing but simply wasting your energy cause that Moron is in love with Jeon Jeongguk; bet he offered his dick for some A's." the shorter male said taking out a book that he was planning on studying today.
"I wouldn't even be surprised if that turns out to be true." Taehyung said, totally frustrated as he punched the locker with and instantly regretted when it hurt like a bitch.
"Calm down, Kim. Will ya?" that honey dripping sweet voice rang in Taehyung's ear and oh how much he hated that tone. He knew it too well.
The brunet turned around to see the privileged Jeon Jeongguk standing with a smirk dancing on his lips, right hand stroking his blond hair locks while another one on the strap of his expensive leather backpack.
"Okay a question," he said letting out a small chuckle, "What did you even hope to achieve there? You know my father pays them? They won't say a word against me."
"Oh fuck off, I know how they lick your father's toes, you don't need to remind me but I couldn't just stay there and see you cheat," Taehyung rolled his eyes, "For fuck's sake Jeongguk, do you have something called morals? Like yeah get it that we all cheat a little by asking or sneaking in some chits if possible but all the damn answers?"
The resentment and disappointment was so evident in the brunet's as he looked down for a moment before again looking up at the other, "You're nothing without your father, darling."
"He is better than yours babe. At least he wasn't kicked out of the Belfort's board of directors for― you know it." Jeongguk laughed bringing out that topic which Taehyung hated to his core.
That was the weakest nerve and Jeongguk just loves to hurt that place over and over again.
Cruel, of course it was.
"I swear Jeongguk, the day I become the mage, get that wand, will banish you―" Taehyung couldn't finish his sentence when Jeongguk walked ahead and pushed him against the locker, whispering, "My baby is so delusional and I love it."
"Please you can't do anything but be a nerd." Jeongguk laughed, taking steps back when Taehyung was glaring at him. If looks could kill, Jeongguk would be found six feet under.
"He is not a nerd you saggy balls, he is smart and there's a difference." Jimin sided, pushing him away from Taehyung who was already ready to throw hands.
God, Taehyung doesn't even know himself how he controlled himself today from punching the other on his face but he did.
However he ain't letting this go so easy. The brunet ain't allowing the other to walk away like nothing happened.
"Descendo!" Taehyung got his wand from his locker and murmured the spell pointing the wand at Jeongguk's pants who was walking ahead, carefree not having the slightest clue on what's coming up for him.
"Hell, I will kill you, Kim." Jeongguk shouted when his pants were dropped down leaving him just in his boxers that too in the hallway which was flooded with students at the moment.
With that Taehyung started laughing and before Jeongguk could pull off some of his magic spells and tricks, he started running to the opposite direction, Jimin after him.
It wasn't new for either both of them or the students of Belfort. It was their regular stuff and this rivalry was never ending.
Everyone knows that and anyone hoping to see them talking like normal people is the biggest fool to ever exist because Jeon Jeongguk and Kim Taehyung being on good terms was nearly impossible.

Witchbone: The Goblins Winter
Themes found in these stories include friendship, found family, defying negative expectations, trying to figure out how to be a force for good in your corner of the world, doing heroic things even if you don't look or feel like a hero, and that being different isn't necessarily fatal. Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
