Mufasa was always my number one rival. But he never thought so. He just thought we were friends when we were younger. Princes are all the same. The word hate is very strong for me and Mufasa's relationship. I mildly dislike him, but know him when were cubs is not the worst of it. We're betrothed!? Didn't know there was anything worse could happen.
I never really liked him. Did I? My father is on good terms with Mufasa's dad and as a result we're betrothed. I was in the Pridelands taking shade underneath a tree. As I heard footsteps coming my way. It was the lion that I disliked the most, Mufasa. "Hello, (Y/N)." He greeted me. I didn't answer him, I acted like I was dead to the world.
"You can't ignore me forever you know. When I'm king, you're going to be my mate, (Y/N)." He said. My eyes widened. 'Does he actually care about?' I thought to myself. Mufasa sounded so sure of himself but my feelings still haven't changed towards him. Or did they? My mind wondered off for a bit, questioning my feelings towards Mufasa.
"What makes you think I wanna be queen. Its something that I don't know if I'll be able to do." I said to him. "Really? Well, I'll be right be by your side, (Y/N). No matter what." He said with a grin. I turned to face him as a light tint of pink washed over my face. "You're serious on this?" I asked him. He nodded.
"I've never said this to you before but do you know how much I liked you when we were cubs?" Mufasa asked. I could not believe what I was hearing. "Huh?! Me!? Why?" I asked. "Well, I don't know really. But you stood out to me more than anyone else. You're pretty, smart and independent. That's what I like about you the most." He confessed.

I blushed deep red as I looked away from him and said. "I hate you, but I love you at the same time."
"I love you too". Mufasa said nuzzling me softly.
'Maybe this whole betrothed thing won't be such a bad thing after all.'
