Hi!

Here is another artwork from recently this year. I wanted to test out a different type of lighting for this one.

The character is of Essik Theylas from Critical Role. I drew this back when no one had really drawn him yet, or knew the correct way to spell his name... i think i'm still spelling it wrong XD... I DID THIS IN JUNE! WOW! That's not very recent... time flies.

Here he is! There is a constant veil over the city to keep it in darkness, and it is lit by hundreds of green illuminated lanterns. That imagery created this idea of him standing before two gargoyles holding two of the lanterns, perched on the castle wall. :)

and here below is a small progression of the artwork. I did this thing where i would save my WIP for that day, then critique it at night as to what i liked, what i still needed to do, etc.

for instances, day 1's night- after 3 hours away from my sketch, i decided i absolutely hated the face i had drawn.

I also at some point decided to change the stars because my original pick were too bright and were taking focus away from Essik.
