《Stranded》pt.15

What's happening to my brain? Sitting with the boys at the breakfast table I felt normal. Maybe I'm just mentally ill. We had a nice breakfast, talked, Lester and I ended up laughing about what had happened earlier. Vincent was quiet as I'm finding out he normally is. Bo wouldn't stop giving me shit about earlier but it was starting to become funny to me. I state stirring my coffee and looking at the window. The sky was turning from pink to grey. "Storms coming." I mumble with a small smile on my face. "How'd you know that?" Lester asks me in a whisper. "Learned it from my grandpa. Pink sky at night sailors delight, pink sky in the morning sailors take warning." I whisper back. Lester smiles at me and looks out the window. "Looks like your right." He chuckles. "So," I clap my hands, "who's playing babysitter today?" I ask looking at the three men infront of me. "Can I pick? Or is it gonna be a pulling straws deal?" Bo points at Vincent. "You gotta stay home anyway, you take care of em." He tells his twin brother and I tilt my head. "Looks like I'm your problem now." I smile at Vincent. "Don't worry I'll keep my clothes on." I joke causing Lester to almost choke on his coffee.
"Stop teasing him. Or you're spending the day with me again." Bo smirks cracking his knuckles. "Or, hear me out, I just chill around the town and have a nice day in the rain." Lester nods with a smile. "They didn't run away when you took em to the store Bo, I think they could do it." Vincent puts his hand on my shoulder. "You wanna join me?" The tall masked man nods in response. "Well that's settled. You get ready, Bo." I look him over and flip him off. "Later hoe!" I beam leaving to get my shoes. "Bitch!" Bo yells at me. "Cunt!" I yell back running up the stairs and laughing. "Bimbo!" "Damn right ya American psycho wanna be!" I laugh and slam my door.

Once I had my shoes on I made my way back down stairs. Lester had already left for the day and Bo was sitting on the couch dressed in his mechanics uniform fiddling with his ring. "Vincent! You ready? I'm gonna pack us a picnic!" I call through the house. "Want me to bring you some lunch later?" I asked Bo as I checked my makeup in my compact mirror. "Whatever you feel like doing." He says and I sigh. "What is your problem with me? Honestly? You're more hot and cold than a damn quantum gas." Bo blinked at me for a second. "Than a what?" "If you're gonna talk to me let's do it in the kitchen, I have a picnic to pack for." I said walking in. I started making some sandwiches as Bo walked in and leaned on the door frame. "Than a what?" "Quantum gas, a system made of indistinguishable particals. Not like a classic gas where you can differentiate one component from another. It can take on different temperatures and even be hot and cold at the same time." I explain as I cut the sandwiches in half. Bo stood there for a moment before letting out a small chuckle like sigh. "I thought bimbos were dumb." Bo confesses. "It's more an act. Ya know like you do to get people to trust you before you kill them. Like a persona I put on so people either leave me the fuck alone or so that they trust me with information thinking I don't understand it." I explain as I finish the sandwiches. Turning around I see Bo's face showing an almost pleasant smile. "What?" I ask crossings my arms and leaning back on the counter. Bo walks up to me and smirks. Putting his hands on either side of me on the counter he leans in close. "You ain't any better than me." "Yeah but I don't murder people." I smirk. Looking away I see Vincent standing in the doorway. "You ready to go? I'm keeping lunch in the fridge so we can come back and get it for our picnic." Bo looks over at his brother and quickly gets off me.

Vincent had on a brown unzipped hoodie and had an umbrella in his hand. I smiled softly at the masked man and put the sandwiches in the fridge as Bo stood back rubbing his neck. "Hope you like penutbutter and honey." I grin at Vincent as I walk over to him. Vincent looked at me through his mask and softly put his hand on my face before looking over to his brother. I put my hand on his and lean into his palm. "Soft." I sigh. "Alright, let's get going. See ya later Bo, if you come up with any ideas for dinner find me." I grin as Vincent and I walk out the door.
As we step down the driveway Vincent hums to get my attention. Turning to look at him Vincent motions to the house. "Don't worry about it. Just ruffling his feathers." I chuckle as we stroll. "Hey I didn't make that braid too tight did I?" I ask holding my hands behind my head. Vincent shakes their head no. I smile and take a deep breath. It was perfect outside. A grey sky, slight breeze, and my favorite part the smell of coming rain. I started to zone out until Vincent tapped my shoulder. "Hmm?" I look over at him again. Vincent held his arm for me to take, like people in old movies do. I feel a light blush and slight smile grow on my face. Taking his arm in mine I rest my free hand on his arm. "You have really soft hands." Hearing the words come out my mouth I cringe. "Yeah sorry that sounded creepy." Vincent shakes his head no. "You're good." Those two words were all it took to make me feel better.
