《His Precious Girl》Chapter Six

Sunday morning, I woke up to a sweet good morning text from Lee. We spent the rest of the day texting every chance we got and when night came he called me and we spent almost two hours talking and flirting before he fell asleep.
On Monday Lee and I hanged out after school at the same cafe we had our small lunch date the previous week but this time we ate muffins and had a study date. It was mostly me studying and him resting his head on my shoulder while listening as I recited the information to him.
On Tuesday he picked me up in the morning and brought me a beautiful red rose which he managed to tuck into my hair. He had kissed me on the cheek telling me I looked beautiful and then drove me to school. Despite the looks my classmates gave me I kept the flower in my hair the whole day.
On Wednesday we didn't really get to see each other since he had soccer practice in the morning then at lunch I had a study session with Anissa in the library and after school Lee had to pick up his little brother from school. We only managed to have our nightly phone conversation.
But other then that we spent a lot of time together but it was okay because we both loved spending time together and getting to explore this new feeling we were experiencing.
When I stepped into the cafeteria on Thursday I was swarmed by Anissa and her questions about Lee and I. We had texted about it but apparently she wanted every single detail.
As we were talking I noticed something was going on in the middle of the cafeteria. When I looked over I saw a girl in my math class asking Jasper a quiet shy nerd in our year out to prom.
One of her friend was holding a sign over his head that said: Prom? with a huge grin on his face.
The sign was decorated with a lot of cute stuff that probably only the two of them knew the meaning of.

We moved over so we could hear what she was saying.
"Um yeah so do you wanna go to prom with me?" I was so shocked to hear her stumble over her words.
She's usually so confident and outgoing.
I looked at Jasper and saw he had a look of shock on his face and he was a flustered mess.
"Me?" He asked dumbly pointing at himself and I silently laughed.
"Yes you, you dummy! Who else?" The girl I think her name was Mia exclaimed.
"Um okay. I'd uh love to go with you." Jasper said, still in a daze and I heard a few chuckles here and there.
My heart suddenly felt heavy and I looked over the cafeteria and spotted Lee and Marcus who were sitting with some other boys amongst the crowd also paying attention to the promeposal.
I looked at Lee's expression and he was just smiling like everyone else. No hint of distaste.
Still I couldn't get it out of my head that maybe I should just go to prom with Lee.
What if he was right? I would definitely have a blast if I went with him. And it's not fair to him either.
I didn't think Lee was going to take another girl after we started going on dates and talking.
At least I hoped not.
We went back to the table and I sighed.
"What's wrong?" Anissa asked.
"Nothing it's just... do you think I should go to prom with Lee?" I asked unsure and she smiled brightly and nodded her head.
"Oh my god, yes! You should come! Marcus told me that Lee said he's just going to go with his friends and not take anyone cause the girl he wanted to take didn't want to go." She told me with a knowing look in her eyes and I immediately felt guilt.
Am I ruining his prom experience? Should I tell him to take someone else and that I wouldn't mind?
No!
I never knew I was so selfish.
I took out my phone and debated if I should do it. After one last glance at Mia and Jasper who both looked like they were over the moon I made up my mind.

Prom is part of high school experience why should I let an ex stop me from going?
And I wanted Lee to have the best night of his high school years too.
I started texting Lee and hoped for the best.
After closing my phone I looked up and glanced at his table to see him already looking at me with a grin on his face. I smiled back and waved which he did too with excitement like a kid.
I laughed and Anissa followed my look to Lee who immediately looked away as Marcus also glanced at us.
"Awwww! You guys are so cute!" Anissa gushed and I blushed.
I was waiting for Lee while scrolling through social media on my phone when suddenly it was snatched from my hands.
I looked up to see Lee who was beaming at me and I smiled back.
"Hi." He said handing me my phone back and wrapping me in his arm. I wrapped my arms around his waist and gave a contented smile as he rocked us back and forth.
"Hey." I replied when we pulled away from the hug.
"No car today?" I asked as we started walking towards my house and he shook his head.
"Nope! Marcus picked me up this morning for soccer practice."
"So why did you suddenly want me to come over." He said with a smirk.
"Just cause." I shrugged and he laughed and grabbed my hand swinging it while we walked.
Once we came home we both took off our shoes and I led him to the kitchen.
"You have a really nice house." He said.
"Thanks. It pays off to have a doctor as a mom." I shrugged and his eyes widened.
"Your mom's a doctor? That's so cool!" He said and I laughed.
"What about your dad?" He wondered as I gave him a glass of juice and sipped on mine.
"Ah my parents divorced a while back and my dad lives out of the city with his girlfriend. I don't really talk to him that much just once a month maybe." I said.
"Oh..." he said awkwardly while rubbing his neck and I smiled at his cuteness. "It's okay I don't really mind as long as both my parents are happy."
"You're such an angel Arabella." He said coming over to me, wrapping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me to him almost making me spill my juice.
"Thanks Lee." I said as I finish my juice and wrapped my arms around him with a contented sigh.
"So I know I said we should watch a movie but do you wanna bake a cake instead?" I asked when an idea popped into my mind.
"Yes!" Lee exclaimed excitedly and we both laughed.
"Can it please be chocolate? I don't like vanilla cake." He said.
"Sure." I said and we took out the ingredients.
"You know how to bake?" I ask and he nodded with a duh face.
"Okay great! Can you start on the cake I want to make our own frosting." I said and he agreed.
We both worked in a comforting silence and after an hour and half we were finally done.
"Hey could you get my phone from the living and than put it in charge in my room. First door on the left upstairs." I asked sweetly and he looked confused but agreed.
As he left the kitchen I hurriedly took the frosting pipe and started writing on the cake.
When he came back I made him stop at the entrance. I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the counter than removed the cover from the cake and nervously showed it to him.
On the cake was written messily with my white frosting:
