"Well, this is it, girls." Your mother says as you arrive at your new home. The house is gorgeous! Your eyes widen as you admire every bit of detail. It has two stories with an attic, it's grey and white and has the most gorgeous garden. It's big but not too big, it's everything you dreamed of, you just wish your father was here with you...
"Come grab your bags, please. Be careful not to squash them!" Your mother says to Ashley April. "Y/n, can you please take Tatum." Your mother asks you as she hands you your sleeping baby sister Tatum. You grab her and take her inside. You put her down on a couch as she sleeps. You rush back outside to help bring in the bags.

Once you finish bringing in all the bags you sit down next to Tatum. "No time for sitting y/n. I will show you to your rooms." Your mother says as she walks upstairs. You and Ashley April follow her.
When you get up the stairs you see a long hallway with doors and empty picture frames hung along the walls. Your mother points to the first door, "This will be Tatum's room." She walks down the hallways further and points to a second door, "y/n this is your room, it is the second biggest room." Your mother says as she smiles at you.
You look down at your sister and laugh. Ashley April pulls an angry face and storms to your mother, "and what about my room?" She says with a pouty face. "I was just getting to that. This is your room." Mother says as she points to a third door. "It is right next to me and your father's room." Your mother and father's room was the last door at the end of the hall.
You quickly rush downstairs to grab your bags. You bolt up the stairs and into your room. Once you open the door you drop your bags. You stand there in awe. It was gorgeous. It had a window with a gorgeous tree outside. It had a small, white wooden desk. And the bed was massive! You walk over to the bed and fall back and sigh.
After laying on your bed for a few minutes you hear your mother call you. You go downstairs and see your mother in the kitchen, "yes mother?" You ask.
She looks up at you, "what would you like for lunch? I'm making Ashley bread with jam and Tatum is having a bottle of milk." She says. You were so overjoyed with excitement you had lost your appetite "thank you, but I'm not very hungry." You say.

You see your mother's head shoot up. "Well, you must eat. Here" she says as she digs into her pocket and pulls out some coins and passes them to you. "you can take this money, you can go to Carmody and buy some fruit, that way you can explore Avonlea and get something to eat." You smile before taking the money and leaving.

As you're walking around looking for Carmody, you see a tall boy walking ahead of you. "Excuse me!" You shout to the boy. The boy stops walking and turns around. Your face goes red with embarrassment as you walk up to him. You see his gorgeous sparkling eyes meet yours. "Hi, I'm so very sorry to bother you, but would you happen to know how I can get to Carmody?" You nervously ask.
He smiles "I'm actually going there now, I can accompany you and show you where to go."
You sigh with relief. "Thank you so much, that would be a great help." You say with a smile.
You blush. "Oh, I'm sorry, how rude of me. I'm (y/n) (y/l/n)" you say to the Handsome boy.
He grabs the edge of his hat and slightly bows his head. "Gilbert Blythe, it's a pleasure to meet you." He says. You blush and turn away. You desperately try not to show it, but you're about to burst over how extremely cute you find him.
While walking to Carmody you try to make small talk with Gilbert. "What are you going to Carmody for? If you don't mind me asking" You politely ask.
"Oh no it's alright, I'm getting some flour. I'm trying to cook." He says. "And you?" He asks.
"I'm getting some fruit but also because I wanted to look around Avonlea and see what Carmody has." You say.
You look over to see Gilbert intensely staring at you. You blush. "What?" You ask.
"I've never seen you before, are you new here?" He asks.
You look down to the ground then look up. "Yes, I moved here today. I came from a big town called East Hillwood."
"I don't think I've heard of East Hillwood. Is it far?"
"Very far." You say while
"That must suck having to leave everything and move far away."
You shrug. "Honestly, it's not all that bad."
"Well, will I be seeing you in school?" He asks with a playful smile.
"Yes, unfortunately, I'm starting tomorrow." You say.
He laughs "what do you mean 'unfortunately'? Do you not like school?" He asks.
"No, I love it! It's just that I'm worried about starting at a new school." You say. You go red. "Oh my god, did I really just tell this handsome, charming boy that I love school!?" You say in your head.

You finally approach Carmody. "Well I hope you're as smart as you seem, it could be fun to have someone who actually challenges me." He says with a cheeky smirk. "And no need to worry about starting at a new school, you've got me. Besides, I know a loud redhead who is very friendly and I'm sure you two will be great friends" Gilbert says laughing. You smile as you wonder to yourself about who the redhead was that he was talking about.
As you two walk into Carmody, you see a stand selling fruits. You tug Gilbert's arm and walk over. You grab out the money your mother gave you. "One mango please." You say, smiling at the man at the stand before passing him your money.
"Have a good day." The man smiles as he passes you your mango. You take a bite into the mango. Gilbert smiles as he watches.
You and Gilbert explore Carmody, making a quick stop at a store. You walk around while Gilbert goes to the counter with his bag of flour. "Y/n let's go." He says to you across the store, as he opens the door. You walk over, as you exit the store you flash a smile to the man behind the counter and wave.
When you and Gilbert leave the store he turns to you. "Would you like me to walk you home?" He asks. You blush as you feel soft butterflies fluttering around your stomach. "That would be lovely if you wouldn't mind." You say as you smile.

As Gilbert walks you home, you see a group of boys laughing, walk up to you. "Well well well, if it isn't Gilbert Blythe. There was me thinking you liked that weird orphan. What are you doing walking this cute girl around?" A blonde-haired boy asks as his friends laugh. You can't help but wonder, who was this orphan he was talking about?
"I helped her to Carmody and now I'm walking her home if that's alright with you," Gilbert says. You can tell that Gilbert doesn't like the blonde boy very much.
The blonde boy reaches out his hand. "I'm Billy Andrews." He says. You smile. You don't want to be impolite so you shake his hand. "How lovely to meet you. I'm (y/n) (y/l/n)." You say.
"Uhm this is Moody Spurgeon MacPherson and Charlie Sloane. They go to the school here as well" Gilbert says. You felt kind of silly having to have everyone introduced to you, you weren't used to it. You smile at the boys. "We've got to go. I'll see you at school Billy." Gilbert says, sounding a bit unfriendly. You were confused, was Gilbert friends with these boys or not?
You and Gilbert walk off. You hear the boys laughing and talking. "Sorry about them," Gilbert says to you.
"Oh no it's alright they were nice." You say.
"Billy is anything but nice," Gilbert says. Once again you begin to wonder what he means by that. You rub it off and continue talking with Gilbert.
After a while of walking, you arrive at your house. You stop walking and point. "This is my house." You say. "Thank you again. You have been very helpful. I think if it weren't for you I would be lost in the woods somewhere." You say with laughter.
"It's fine, and I didn't mind walking you home, my farm is near this way." He says.
You smile. "Goodbye Gilbert." You say before turning and heading up the steps to your house.
Once you get inside you smile and sigh as you slowly close the door behind you. "My goodness. You took your time." Your mother says as she sits on a seat at the table sewing.
"Sorry mother." You say.
"It's alright, did you eat anything?" She asks. You nod your head.
"Please go check on Ashley, but be quiet because Tatum is sleeping." She says. You roll your eyes and go up the stairs.
You open the door to see her playing with her dolls.
She stops playing with her dolls to look up at you. "I saw you with that boy."
''And how did you see that?" You ask.
Ashley April giggled. "Through the window of course."
"Don't spy on me!" You say.
You walk out of your sister's room and go into your room. You hadn't had the chance to pick a dress to wear for the first day of school tomorrow. You walked over to your dresser and pulled out a light pink and white dress and laid it on a chair.
You sat on your bed and as the day went on you spend most of the time thinking about Gilbert and how kind he was to you.
Finally, the day was over. You tried your best but you couldn't sleep. You groaned before walking over to your window and sitting against the glass. Staring at the tree, you see its gorgeous leaves lit up by the moon's shine. The extravagant stars sparkle in the dark night sky. You admire every single bit of it before going back to bed and finally falling asleep.

Magic system vaguely similar to GameLit ones (no system nor interface to help), with certain elements that are a bit more analogue. Politics, war, looming apocalypse, a tiny dash of kingdom building, and a minor bit of crafting. There is a bit of a progression element as well as both environmental and cultural exploration. The story follows two youths more directly influenced by aforementioned Elder beings than most. Neither lead cares for politics but certain situations force them into participating, forcing them to make decisions that shape their morality. But when his squad is tasked with conducting a routine patrol deep in enemy territory, everything goes to nine kinds of hell, and he quickly sees his chances at survival slipping away. When the radio operators start to pick up some funky, dirty ol’ blues all the way out in the backcountry, it’s a nice change of pace. At least until the men in Yancy’s squad start losing their minds, turning on each other with murderous intent as the music works its deadly power within them. Convinced it’s some kind of new psychological warfare initiative, the squad leader forces the men to push deeper and deeper into the Vietnamese jungle, obsessed with locating the music’s source. What they find, however, isn’t some new technology, but an ancient spirit awoken by the terrible war. Even worse, the music is changing Yancy too, awakening something buried inside of him. Only one thing is certain, nothing is ever going to be the same.See how it all began … *** PRAISE FOR SIREN SONG:Hunter's writing is as low-down, gritty, and insidious as the blues Yancy Lazarus loves.
