《Falling for a Star (Complete)》Chapter 32 - Forever

"You said last week you loved me too but you weren't sure how it could work out between us. I figured out a way Bren," Dylan said, looking down into my eyes. "We could buy a house here in Iowa where we would live and raise a family and I could set up a really nice recording studio in it so I could still make new music. We could keep my beach house in Malibu as a vacation home and a place to stay when I need to go to a movie premiere or awards show," he said, brushing his fingers across my hair and tucking it behind my ear.
"And I could cut back to shooting only a couple movies a year so I won't be away from home too often and when I'm not filming I'd be here in Iowa with you and our kids. But I promise I won't accept movie roles that require me to have love scenes. The only woman I want to do that stuff with is you."
My eyes were filling with tears now and I sniffled.
"You would do that Dylan? You would move to Iowa and give up your life in L.A.?" I asked, searching his eyes in disbelief.
He picked up my hands and held them in his, looking into my eyes. "Brenley. From the outside looking in my life there might seem perfect, the mansion, the cars, the fame, but it's lonely and empty. It's full of fake people that want something from me. A life here in Iowa with you, the woman I love more than anything, getting to kiss you and talk to you face to face every day, getting to sleep with you in my arms every night and wake up next to you every morning, that would mean everything to me. Just thinking about it makes me smile," he said, looking down at me with his eyes starting to water and a smile on his face. "I know I could be happier here with you than I've ever been in my life."
Tears ran down my cheeks and I sniffled.
He looked down into my eyes and studied my face for a second, before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a little black box and he stepped back, getting down on one knee. I gasped and covered my mouth with my hands.

"Brenley Jensen. I love you so fucking much it's insane and I want the happy ending with you. Whether it's in L.A. or Iowa or Alaska. I don't care. I'll go wherever you are because wherever you are, that's my home. You showed me that there are still good people in the world and you made me believe that true love, the kind that my grandparents and my parents have still exists, because I found it with you. I want to buy a house here in Iowa and fill it up with beautiful little babies that look like you and spend every day showing you how much I love you."
Hearing that made the tears flow out of my eyes and I started ugly crying as I covered my mouth with my hands and sobbed. He looked down and let out an exhale, before looking back up into my eyes.
"Brenley will you marry me?" he asked.
I nodded and choked out the word "Yes" through my tears and he stood to his feet and crashed his mouth against mine and pulled me against him, kissing me desperately. I kissed him back, catching my breath through my tears and I was so happy I felt like my heart could explode. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face into his chest and cried into it as he held me.
I had been in love with him for months and dreamed of having a future with him but I never thought it could really happen. I never in a million years thought he would move to Iowa to be with me, a normal girl, not a Hollywood actress or an heiress or a famous model. Just me, Brenley Jensen, a poor coffee barista.
He looked down into my eyes and his eyes were red and watery.
"You just made me the happiest man in the world," he said with a smile and a look of pure happiness on his face that melted my heart.
I sniffled and said, "Well you just made me the happiest woman in the world so we're even."
He smiled and leaned in, pressing his lips to mine and lifting me off the ground to spin me in a circle a couple times before sitting me back down.
Then I felt Ellie hugging both of us from the side and I looked over and she had tears streaming down her face.

"I'm so happy for you guys," she sobbed. "I better be your maid of honor," she laughed through her tears, wiping them away.
"Of course you are. Who else would be? Dave?" I asked and we both busted out laughing and hugged again.
Then Dylan took my hand and slipped the huge, sparkling diamond ring down onto the ring finger on my left hand and I admired how beautiful it looked.
"I love it," I said softly, lifting my eyes to look into his.
He gave me a small smile, letting out an exhale and said, "Good because hopefully you'll be wearing it the rest of your life."
I smiled and said, "Yes I will," wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him again.
Finally we pulled back and he said, "Let's go look at this house and see what you think. I found it online and thought it looked like the perfect place to raise a family."
"Ok," I said softly as he slipped his hand into mine and we walked over to the real estate agent that had been patiently waiting for us.
As soon as we stepped inside the house it took my breath away. It was the most beautiful house I had ever seen and I instantly loved it.
This house was perfect. I could picture our kids running through the hallways, teaching them to ride a bike in the long driveway, grilling out on weekends on the huge back porch, teaching them to swim in the pool and fish in the lake and how to ride horses. I could see our future here.
It instantly felt like home, way more than my house in Malibu ever had, but I didn't want to be the one to decide. I wanted it to be something Brenley wanted so I was going to leave the final decision to her. I was so happy she said yes to marrying me. I had never been so nervous in my life. I fully expected her to deny me once again but I was so relieved she didn't this time.
As we walked through the house Brenley was pretty quiet, looking around at everything and taking it all in. I wondered what she was thinking. Maybe she thought it wasn't good enough. Maybe she wanted something bigger or closer to downtown.
When we were finally done with the tour I turned to her and said, "What do you think? Do you like it?"
She looked worried. "It's beautiful. It's like my absolute dream home but I don't know Dylan. It seems like a lot," she whispered. "Can we afford a place this this?"
A smile crept across my face and I looked down at the ground and laughed.
"Babe," I whispered with a smile. "I have a net worth of over $200 million dollars. That movie I just finished filming, paid me $20 million."
Her eyes widened.
"Are you serious?" she whispered. "I mean, I knew you were rich but geez. You're not just rich. You're like rich, rich."
I laughed. "Yeah, I'm like rich, rich. If you want it, this house can be ours."
She looked up at me hesitantly and said, "It's up to you. I love this house but I don't want to spend your money Dylan."
I turned her to face me and took her hands in mine. "Hey," I said softly. "It's not just my money any more. It's OUR money and I want you to help make this decision. The house we pick is going to be the house where we raise our family. I want it to be our forever house we can grow old together in."
She raised her eyes and looked into mine and I could see them starting to get red and watery. A tear ran down her cheek and she sniffled.
"Then I love it," she choked out. "It's absolutely perfect."
That made me smile and I said, "I think so too. So you think this is the one then?"
"Yeah," she nodded. "This is the one Dylan, but I want to put the $55,000 I've saved up towards the house. It might sound silly to you but it's important to me that I help buy it."
"Ok," I nodded. I knew better than to fight with her on it because I knew it was important to her that she helped. I scooped her up in my arms and planted a kiss on her lips with a huge smile.
"We just picked out a house baby," I told her with a smile, spinning her around a couple times before putting her back down and kissing her lips.
