The kiss was a mix of soft but needy. I never knew that a kiss would make me feel so giddy. It was like I craved it and boy I wasn't regretting it one second. My body acted on its own accord, holding the nape of his neck, pulling him closer to my body; closing the distance between us.
His chest touched mine, our breaths racing. The kiss felt utterly good. It was like no other. I find myself taking steps back, feeling overwhelmed by the non-stop sparks. He moves one of hand from my cheek, placing it on my waist. He squeezed me, making a moan leave my lips.
Sooner or later, I couldn't take any steps back as my bum touched the desk, leaving me nowhere else to go. He moves back to cupping my cheek, kissing like there's no tomorrow. His hand moves to my lower back, pressing my front to his. Igniting the fire even fiercer.
With ease, his hand moves south, now caressing the back of my thigh, lifting it off the floor so it was wrapped around his waist. The movement felt foreign but I loved every second of it. He didn't waste a second as he made me take a seat on the edge of the desk effortless.
He leans down, deepening the kiss. When he leaned down I followed lead, my back dipping backwards from doing so. His free hand was busy, using the chance to push objects away allowing more space for us both.
I open my eyes, lips parted from the clatter that he made. I still had a hand on the back of his neck, our foreheads pressed against each other. I looked over my shoulder, seeing the pot that was once filled with pens now all over the place. The telephone disconnected from the server.
His hot breath fanned down my neck, my chest meeting the speed of his heavy breathing. He pulled me away from the distraction, now using his index finger to bring my gaze back to him. He stares at my lips, dipping down for another kiss. This time slipping his tongue into my mouth.
We both fought for dominance and there it was, the burst of adrenaline that exploded through my body. I slightly open my legs resulting him to take a step forward, closing the remaining distance we had.
My hands fall from his neck, now loosely holding onto his waist. The blazer he gave falls off my shoulders from being oversized for my frame. The quiet movement of the blazer made a shiver run down my spine, both from the cold and the heated moment.
He breaks the kiss first looking down at me, me doing so as I look up from my lashes. I turn to the side, seeing the black material of the blazer around me on the desk. His finger trails down my arms making me freeze, his touch leaving a small burning sensation.
A gasp leaves my mouth shortly after but I suppress it by biting my lip, trying to contain the moan that was daring to leave my lips. The willpower was so strong that I had to close my eyes, the feeling too overwhelming.
The feeling was so pleasing that it sent tingles right down to my feet. He break the touch, now using his index finger to lift my chin up; making me stare at his hooded emerald eyes. His thumb brushes over my bottom lip before using his thumb to release my lower lip.
He rubs my swollen lips staring with immense concentration. He parts his lips, the words strained as if he was trying himself back,

"Stop. It's driving me fucking crazy,"
I heed to his words, mind swarmed with countless thoughts. He does the unexpected and dips forward this time burying his face in the crook of my neck. His lips touch my skin and I shut my eyes tightly as another gasp leaves my mouth.
He leaves wet kisses making me throw my head back, giving him more access, now beginning to bite on the skin. Not being able to keep my pleasure at bay, a moan leaves my mouth. I move to grab a fistful of his hair making him grunt quietly but loud enough for me to hear.
I feel him bite the skin, the action making me breath faster. Quicker. He kisses all over my skin, his lips burning my skin. He then moves to the the valley of my breasts sending my mind into a frenzy mode. I arch my chest forward even higher as another moan escaped my lips.
His hand falls on my exposed thigh making me unintentionally clench my lower stomach, feeling both hot and bothered by his touch. He draws random swirls on my skin making me more breathless than I already was.
His fingers reach higher and higher up my thigh, his mouth still attached to my neck. I squeeze my eyes tighter, my body reacting to his. I scoot forward allowing my front to come in contact with his growing bulge. I open my eyes in shock.
He freezes from my action and slowly lifts his head from my neck, lips no longer touching my burning skin. My yes meet his, my lips parted slightly as my breaths come out as short and fast. I watch him as he clenches his jaw, his eyes becoming even more hooded.
Breaking the moment he takes a step away from me, his hooded emerald eyes so dark it didn't even look normal. He mirrored my breathing, both fast and uneven. I could hear my heartbeat ring in my ears, never slowing down.
He randomly clears his throat now taking a step back, fully removing himself from me. I scrunch my eyes in confusion seeing him takes deep breaths from his nose, trying to stabilise his breathing pattern. I do the same but through parted lips.
He takes another step back now being nowhere in reach, almost hidden in the dark. I just about made out him lifting his hand to the back of neck, now looking to the side. It was clear that he was avoiding my gaze. I removed myself from the desk and walked towards him.
Clearly from the corner of his eyes, he saw me approaching him because he raised his hand mid-air, making me come to a halt. We both stand like this until he broke the silence by saying,
"That didn't mean anything. Don't get your hopes up high,"
I freeze at his words, My heart dropping ten feet under. He spun on his feet and looked over his shoulder,
"It was a spur of a moment. Forget that even happened. I'll get Daisy to clarify the meeting instead,"
With that being said he left the room, leaving me all alone in the cold. From afar I heard the elevator ding, open and then close shortly after. I make no move, still stunned by his words. When the elevator doors shut, my body unfreezes.
I take a step back, not fully accepting the truth. What the fuck just happened? I stand in place for a few minutes before I turn on my heels, staggering towards the window now staring at the black skyline.

My eyes shift down, capturing roads filled with a few cars. My heart speeds up as I just about see a figure leave the building. As if my heart couldn't drop any deeper, I realise it was Noah. The car pulls up and he turns his upper half, head tilted backwards as he looked up.
He knew. It was clear like the nights sky that he knew I would be standing here. That stupid jerk. He waited a couple of seconds before stepping inside. The car didn't wait long, driving away from the building in seconds.
I watched the car turn around the block. I felt used. Disposed from being used, but why was it that it didn't seem like that? And why was it that this felt like it was the beginning of heartache and pain?
I felt helpless just standing here watching the car drive off into the sight. I blinked continuously at nothing in particular. The power of feeling lonely so strong that it was enough to not hide the lone tear that escaped my eye.
The weekend went in a blur and it was now Wednesday. It's crazy how 'a spur of a moment' can change everything in the matter of a few minutes. When Monday came, I made sure that I was there early before Daisy or Tan.
I made sure that everything was done and ready beforehand, giving me a reason to avoid Noah. Every time I came into work, I made sure I had his coffee made and placed on his desk at eight fifty-five sharp. Not a minute late or a minute early. Exactly at eight fifty-five.
I made sure that his timetable was written and placed on his desk so I didn't have to face him to outline what he had. Once he was physically at work I kept put in my office, making sure that I was busy doing something... anything. I was that desperate not to cross paths with him.
When meetings were scheduled, I made sure that I was there early. I made sure that everything was ready from ballpoint pens to papers and bottles of water for each member of staff who were included. In fact, I was pretty sure both Tanya and Daisy picked up on my change of behaviour.
Every time they saw me they always had their eyebrows raised, filled with questions but all I did was shake them off and continued working without taking a break. I noted how he also made no effort either.
He wouldn't question why I wasn't present when I gave him his timetable nor did he complain about receiving his coffee early. He would ask Daisy to pass on messages to me if he had anything that needed to be done or taken care off. We were living in parallel words right now.
Still trying to avoid him I made sure that even if he did send something through, it would be completed. I was that prepared. I walked out of my office grabbing Daisy's attention. I gave her a fake smile speaking,
"I'll be in the conference room for the meeting with the company's board panel,"
I hear her keyboard become quiet and I knew what was coming,
"Lil... what happened? You aren't yourself and neither is Mr King since Monday... is everything okay? Did anything happen between you both?"
At his name, my heart pulls as I loose focus reminiscing the kiss. I blink a few times before facing her, I respond by saying,
"I don't know what you're talking about Dais. I know for sure that I'm fine,"
A sigh leaves her mouth as she just stares at me. I give her another fake smile as I continue,
"Look, I know you and Tan have questions but seriously, I'm fine. Why don't we get lunch together later on?"
I look at my watch as I state,
"The meeting should be done in an hour or so I'll meet you at the cafeteria okay?"
She gives a pointed look still not saying anything other than giving a defeated a sigh. She shakes her head before facing her computer again. I take it cue to turn and leave. I stand in front of the elevator. Just as I press the button to go down Daisy speaks up, breaking the silence,
"I'll see you at lunch then,"
I turn my head looking back at her. I give a nod, a smile making way. In perfect timing the doors open, me now stepping inside. I turn around to face her, giving one final wave. As I do so, the door to Noah's office opens. He steps out and questions,
"Daisy when's the company's board panel meeting?"
Daisy now focused her gaze on Noah. She quickly stands, giving her attention to him,
"M- Mr King I- I,"
She stutters before looking at me. I feel my heart race as she just stares at me. I'm unable to move. I catch Noah scrunch his eyes as he turns his attention towards me like Daisy. My fingers slowly close from the wave, my hand now falling down by my side in defeat.
I hold my breath as my body slowly, teasingly warms up just from his stare. A silence fell between us three as we both held eyes, neither of us backing away. I compose myself as I give a quick glance at Daisy who stood confused. She kept looked between us both.
Without realising I bite my lower lip, now playing with the ring that was on my finger. We continue to stare at each other and for what felt like hours I was the first to break eye-contact, now looking down at my shoes,
"... the doors will now close. Please stand clear..."
The automated voice of the elevator chimes. I look back at him seeing him still stare. My heart beats faster as I just watch him. Everything around him became a blur and fell in slow motion. Even the doors that were beginning to close was in slow-motion. Everything but him.
We both held our stares until the doors became our barrier. As the door closes, everything collapses making my knees weak. I reach out for the wall, holding myself up from breaking down completely.
I blink a few times, the tears pooling up as mere thought of Friday night rushes back. It's official. Friday's kiss was both a blessing and a curse. I crouch down on my knees taking small breaths to calm myself down.
After going down a few floors, I fix my hair feeling a little composed. I stand letting out a shaky breath. Giving a glance at the numbers on top of the doors, I realise I've reached where I was needed. I redo my top, tucking it in my loose black fitted trousers.
I sucked in my lips and waited for the doors to open. When they do, I come to see Luke trail where the meeting was being held since he was part of the company's board panel.
I out of the elevator and speed walk so that I fell in line with him, taking the courtesy of walking beside him. He still hasn't noticed my presence as he was busy texting on his phone. I smile to myself,
"You're here for the meeting I see?"
At my voice he drops his voice, his body becoming one with the wall. He had a shocked expression as his hand cupped his chest from the fright. I let out a hearty laugh, my body folding in half. My hands fell on my knees, replaying his facial expressions in my head.
He lets out an exaggerated sigh, his face turning side-to-side, seeing if there was any witnesses. When he sees no-one around, he removes himself off the wall,
"Dammit Lily, don't scare me like that!"
I stand up, a chuckle leaving my lips. I don't miss the fact that he looked around the hall, seeing if someone would pop out with a camera in hand, witnessing this side of him. I reach down to grab his phone, handing it back to him,
"Not a scratch,"
I say after I was done examining his device. He takes it from me and straightens his black blazer, clearing this throat. I give him a look from head to toe complimenting him,
"You're looking dashing for this meeting,"
He gives a smirk as he speaks,
"Ones gotta dress to impress Lily. Take note,"
I scrunch my eyes together as I speak,
"I don't need the cringe from you,"
He splutters as he looks at me horrified,
"You did not just say that to me!"
I dodge the subject as I hear footsteps from behind. I turn seeing a few businessmen that I haven't seen walk up, briefcases in hand. I look back at Luke as I speak,
"Everything's ready inside. You can go take a seat, I'll escort these men in shortly,"
Luke also looks at the approaching me, giving a single nod. He pats my shoulder, now disappearing into the meeting room. Once Luke was no longer in the hallway, I turn around fully, waiting next to the door. There was a total of seven men who approached me.
They all came to a stop, all speaking amongst each other about the business and the rates. A few noticed my presence and flashed a smile. I returned the gesture. I sucked in a breath before speaking now grabbing all their attention,
"Hello and welcome. I'm Mr Kings PA, Lily Cole. Please feel free to call me Lily. It's a pleasure meeting you all,"
The men all face each other as they nod in satisfaction, looking back at me again. Giving one last look to them all, I direct them all inside,
"Let's go in shall we?"

The chill seeming to stab the nerves in his bottom. Noticing blood droplets splash into the water below him, he felt a familiar sting reach his eyes and his vision faded like the frost covered window beside him. He saw a dull pair of scissors on the sink to his right and decided to get to work.Update: I deleted some of the extremely detailed descriptions in the first chapter because the goal of the chapter wasn't really to gross people out. It was to show detail to what triggered Kyrie to do what he did.
