"Lily sweetheart come on, we're running late! We haven't got all day!"

"I'm... coming... just..."

I trailed off as I stood at the top of the staircase. I just managed to close the back of my earring as I looked down, seeing everyone stood at the bottom. Dad and Leo wore black suits and a dusty pink tie. Mum wore a similar coloured, long, dusty pink evening dress. She looked stunning.

Upon hearing my heels, dad looked up and gave a smile as he commented,

"You look beautiful sweetheart,"

I look down at what I wore, feeling somewhat unconfident as I tucked away a strand of hair behind my ear. To complete the family, I also wore a silky, copper pink dress. The dress had thin straps showing off my shoulders and collarbone.

The dress cupped my breasts perfectly despite showing skin. Below my bust, some of the material hung against my waist, before the remaining material flowed down to the floor. I wore baby pink heels to match the dress.

My hair was flowing down my back in soft waves. My makeup done lightly, the highlight applied on my cheekbone standing out the most. If I was honest, I didn't want to do anything but dad had a way with his words and here I was... stood at the top of the stairs, ready to set off.

It had been a good month since I left work... a month since I decided to come home to my parents... a month since I haven't seen his face or heard his voice... a month for my heart to shatter...

My parents and Leo knew that whatever happened back at work really did take a toll on me. I'm pretty sure that it was the worst ones they've seen out of all my previous break-ups. Even I would call it bad. They knew that every time I smiled it's an empty.

Since I came back, every night when I slept my heart ached for him. Sometimes I found myself sat on my windowsill, gazing out; wondering if he thought about me to like I did with him. As days passed my heart became empty.

It hadn't been long since I started working at King Enterprise yet I was caught catching feelings for someone who I least expected with. There were days when mum couldn't keep it in. She complained about eating less or not eating at all.

Half the time, I spent being cocooned in my room replaying the words over and over until I felt numb, coming to a point where I closed my eyes letting the words alive in my mind once again.I shake my head as I find myself in my own little world.

I blink away the faint daydream that I lived in and now came to stand in front of my parents as they now stood in front of me. Mum was stood away a little, holding a camera in her hands as she smiled widely,

"Lily baby I want to you stand next to Leo. I want a picture of you both"

I looked over at Leo seeing him distracted by texting someone. He sucked his lips in as he walked over towards me. I watched him carefully as he stood close by. Before I could see who he was texting, he turned off his phone. He placed his arm over my shoulder, phone away in his pocket,

"Move your ogre thigh like arm of me. It's so heavy. You need to go gym man"

He turns his upper half, giving me a raised eyebrow. He uses his other hand and places it over his chest as he spoke dramatically,

"Ouch little sis, that hurt right there"

My heartache slipped away as I smiled widely at his fake pained face whilst he pointed at his heart. I only respond back by wrapping my arm around has waist. On instinct, we both face our parents who stood by each other smiling happily at the both of us.

I come to see both my parents mirror us in front of us. He had his hand also wrapped around mum as she leaned her head on his shoulder. I could see as her forefinger kept on pressing down on the camera. Mum was a pro, she didn't need looking when taking multiple slips of us both,

"Mum I'm guessing you're just taking loads of pictures right now ain't you?"

She only smiles wide, her faint wrinkles showing around the corner of her eyes,

"More than I need baby. Matt our kids are growing up to fast, make time stop for me"

"Now now Sarah, no tears remember"

He says as he turns his head to kiss her on her temple. I give a genuine smile as I remove myself away from Leo and walk towards them both,

"You know I'll always be your little girl, your princess"

"And you know that I'll always be your little boy, your prince"

Leo spoke as he stood by me once more, repeating my words. I roll my eyes muttering to myself but since everyone was in a hearing distance, it just came out like a statement making everyone laugh,

"What prince? You mean more like Shrek who has been living in our house"

I gasp seconds later facing Leo, my hands covering my mouth as I say in a dead beat tone,

"Even worse! An oompa loompa from Charlie and the chocolate factory!"

"Hey!"

I don't wait any longer as I make a beeline to the front door, a laugh leaving my mouth. I don't look back as I throw my head back, a small sense of happiness taking over my body. Opposite our path Claire comes out holding Ruby in her arms.

Jake runs out shortly after Claire. He stops in his track as he looks our way his mouth wide open. I smile widely as I bent down to his level,

"Hey handsome, where you off to?"

Since our paths were open he ran straight to me, wrapping his arms around my legs that resulted me to stumble back a little. I give a small laugh before getting down to his level. He wraps his arms around my neck and I take cue to stand with him in my hold.

Once we were stood, he instantly pouts. The blue in his eyes bluer than usual as it caught rays of the setting sun. He moved around before placing his small palms on my chest making me raise an eyebrow,

"You need to cover up..."

He mutters to himself. I only smile wide at his sincerity. He taps his hands all over my shoulders as I look towards Claire who was now standing next to mum. Everyone all watched in fascination. Mum still held the camera, once again taking pictures I presume.

Leo also fished out his phone also recording I guess. Who could blame them? He was a young gentleman stuck in a toddlers body. Jake moved around under my touch before he started taking off his small, black blazer and places it over my chest,

"There we go! All better"

The material barely covered my shoulders. It only covered my boobs before the material started slipping away. Little by little. Luke came close as he cups a hand around my ear and whispered,

"Don't want anyone to make you cry"

At his words, I felt a shiver run down my spine. He pulls back as he smiled, his eyes sparkling. I mirrored his smile as I pushed his hair back, revealing his forehead,

"You know handsome for someone who's only 4, you're really smart and precious"

He pushes his chest forward smug at my comment, I roll my eyes before facing both our parents,

"Let's have a few pictures of us hmm? My handsome man who never fails to make me smile"

We both turn our heads to the adults as they awed at the sight of us both, I wave my free hand speaking so that everyone could hear me,

"I want some picture with handsome"

Claire nods quick as she blinks rapidly trying not to cry at the sight of her son. 10 minutes later we finish taking pictures,

"Wait one more! Please mummy!"

"Okay baby, last one"

I give him a questioning look as he instructs me,

"Lily look at everyone!!!"

I shrug and I did what I was told. At instant, everyone was already looking at us both with smiles on my faces. It was then when I realised. Even though I had been through a break-up last month, I still had people who tried to cheer me up.

I look down, biting my lip as he popped up in my mind. It didn't last long though before feeling small, warm lips pressed against my cheek. The action alone takes a little while for me acknowledge what's happening as my lips part slightly, my eyes widen a little.

A small chuckle leave from the men's mouth as they all shake their heads, their lips saying along the lines of heartthrob and he;s gonna steal so many hearts when he's older. I turn my head to face Jake as he looks up through his lashes; his cheeks bright red,

"A-are you angry at me Lily?"

I smile at his sudden timidness as I lean towards him kissing his forehead. I pull back, seeing the faint outline of my red lipstick as a whisper leaves my mouth,

"Never handsome, never"

I crouch down as I placed him on his feet. I hold both his small hands in mine as I question in a soft manner,

"Now let's go to that business party of my dad's shall we?"
