The soon to be new first years at Hogwarts stand in the middle of the ancient great hall. One of the kids bounce giddily on their heels.
-Hey, would you stop that? It's very annoying, the kid next to them states. The first kid stops and frowns. The second kid sighs and holds out their hand.
-Slytherin, they say.
-Huh? The first kid asks.
-My name. What's yours? They ask.
-Hufflepuff, the first kid smiles and shakes Slytherin's hand.
-My friends call me Huff, they specify. Sly smiles.
-Sly....
-Hey Sly, can I have one of my hoodies back? You can keep the warm ones, but can I have one? Hufflepuff asks their friend. Slytherin doesn't answer.
-Please? It's getting cold out, Hufflepuff pouts and sits down on the chair beside Slytherin. When they don't answer again, Hufflepuff sighs.
-Please, I-
-I've been keeping them all so you'd be forced to wear the captain America one I got you last Christmas so I could wear the Winter soldier one and we could be matching, Slytherin says quickly and Hufflepuff looks shocked at Slytherin, before blushing and smiling. Hufflepuff runs out of the library and disappears for a while. Slytherin then sighs and begin packing up and leaves. In the hallway on their way to the dungeons, Sly hears someone yelling.
-Sly! Sly! Wait! They hear.
-Huff, no, I'm not real-Sly says and turns around. There Huff stands and has their Captain America hoodie on.
-....So... Matchy matchy tomorrow? Huff asks and Sly tries their hardest not to smile.
-.... Sure, Sly says, not to break Huffs heart. Huff squeals excitedly and runs up to Sly and hugs them. Tightly.
-I swear, I'm gonna make that stupid Gryffindor suffer! Sly yells as they pace through the Slytherin common room. Huff sits and reads this weeks transfiguration homework.
-It's ok, you can do that when you take over the world, Huff reassures as they mark a sentence in their work sheets.
-Yeah... Slytherin huffs as they sit in the couch in front of Huff.
-I mean, I just hate when people judge me because of my family, Sly says and rubs their temples. Huff slams their work onto the coffee table in front of them.
-THEY DID WHAT!? Huff shouts, making the whole Slytherin common room quiet down and stare at them. Sly becomes scared of their friend, that is usually just calm and serene.
-A....Are you ok...? Sly asks as Huffs face becomes red.
-No! I am CLEARLY NOT OK! I will... I'M GOING TO...... Huff says as they stomp out of the Slytherin common room. When Huff is gone, everyone turns to Sly.
-D-Don't worry, that's normal, they say. Clearly to reassure the others, but mostly to reassure himself. When everyone turns back to what they were originally doing, Sly looks at the unfinished homework and remembers Huffs words.

-I... might have to go check on them just to check that they're not commuting homocide, Sly says quietly to themselves and takes Huff's homework with them.
Sly is standing in the courtyard amongst other Slytherins. Sly sees Huff coming running, so they turn away from the group and towards their friend.
-Hi Sly! Huff says and they stop in front of Sly.
-Hi Huff-oh, they say as Huff hugs them unexpectedly. When Huff pulls away, Sly notices something in Huff's hand.
-Whatcha got there? Sly asks them.
-I made this friendship bracelet for you! They say excitedly.
-I'm not really a jewelry person, Sly says as they hear the whispering behind them from the other Slytherins.
-Oh... Well, you don't have to wear it, Huff says, trying to hide their disappointment. Sly could hear the taunting giggling behind them.
-No, I'm gonna wear it forever, they say and snatch the bracelet from Huff and put it on, before turning to their Slytherin friends.
-Back off, they spit at the group, before grabbing Huffs hand and walking away, making Huff blush immensely.
Huff and Sly are sitting at the three broomsticks with Sly's friends, that suggested lunch. What Sly failed to mention is that they were a couple and they were VERY lovey-dovey.
It's winter and everyone is sitting with warm butter beer in their hands. Suddenly the door opens and a very cold breeze freezes everyone in the small pub.
-Oh my, I'm very cold, the girl says. Huff didn't bother learning their names.
-Here you go darling, the boy says and puts their jacket around the girls' shoulders. Huff shivers as another cold breeze slips inside.
-I'm cold too, they says and rub their hands together to create some heat from friction.
-What!? Sly asks and takes off their jacket and places it in Huffs shoulders.
-I thought I told you to bring more fucking layers, but of course you didn't listen, and now-
Sly says and piles everyone's scarves onto Huff's neck.
- I have to make sure you don't fucking FREEZE TO DEATH! But you're allergic to sweaters, so what did I expect, and- Sly leans back and steals a hat off of the person sitting behind them and places it onto Huffs head.
- how long have you been cold? You should've said something sooner! Sly scolds as they receive their warm butter beers. The couple in front of them slightly snickers at Sly's overprotectiveness.
When the lunch is over, the four walks outside and Sly and Huff says goodbye to the nice couple. Sly and Huff decides to take a walk through Hogsmeade.
Suddenly Huff stops, making Sly stop too. Huff smirks at Sly.
-I bet you I could fit the whole world in my hands, Huff says.

-Huff, that's physically impossible, Sly says and smiles slightly. The smile quickly gets knocked off when Hufflepuff cups their face.
-Are you sure? Huff smirks. Sly stammers and turns pink.
-Stop it, I have a reputation, Sly says and swats Huffs hands off friendly.
-Oh, you know you love me, Huff taunts. Sly raises an eyebrow.
-Do I? Sly smirks and Huffs smile falters slightly.
-Uhm.... they say. To make themselves less embarrassing, they grab Sly's collar and pushes their lips to their own. When they pull apart, Sly looks confused at them.
-What is this? They ask dazed.
-Affection, Huff answers casually and shrugs.
-Disgusting... Sly says and sneers. Huffs smile fades from their lips and they are just about to walk away before Sly grabs their arm and pulls them towards their chest.
-.... Do it again, they say, making Huff giggle and giddily kiss them again.
Huff and Sly are cuddling onto the couch in the Hufflepuff common room. The clock strikes 10 and almost everyone goes up to bed.
-Sly, it's really late, we should go get some sleep, Huff says and pry out if Sly's arms.
-Oh shit! Sly exclaims and sit up suddenly.
-What? What's up? Huff asks concerned.
-We have a charms test tomorrow! And I haven't studied! Shit! Sly says aggravated.
-Could you help me study? It might take all night, so it's alright if you can't- Sly cuts themselves off as he didn't notice that Huff set up books and worksheets, along with newly brewed tea and blankets.
-What part of the homework was hard? I've memorized it all.... or, most of it, Huff says and wraps Sly in a fuzzy blanket. Sly smiles.
-Did you know that you're the greatest significant other anyone could ever have? Sly says and takes a cup of tea. Huff smiles and blushes.
-Well, I try, they say.
The next day, there had been a boy, a raven claw boy, nonetheless, that walked around, saying that Huff hadn't been helping Sly to study, but to... you know.... do the dirty with them. Everyone knew that was very incorrect, especially all the Hufflepuffs that slept just meters away from them and sometimes had been woken up by Sly yelling out the answers to the test. Huff had only walked up to the Ravenclaw boy and said:
-So what if I did? Fight me. The whole Ravenclaw table 'oh'ed still the roast that the boy had gotten. But news traveled fast and Sly had quickly found out about the nasty rumor that was spreading. They had grabbed the Ravenclaw boy and dragged him into a quiet and unpopulated corridor, far away from Huff.
-Don't ever speak about my sweet cinnamon bun like that if you ever want to see the light of sun again, they said before letting the poor boy leave with his tail between his legs.
In their Seventh year, the pair could not wait until they graduated and left the school to start their own lives. They had already planned on moving in together this summer.
Huff was sharing dinner with the Slytherins and they were all laughing at Sly's silly stories about what they will do when they graduate.
-I'll rule the world! They announce, making Huff laugh loudly.
-And you, my dear, will be by my side! Sly says and grabs Huffs hand.
-Ok, why? Huff asks confused. Sly kisses their cheek.
-You're too precious and I have to protect you, Sly says, embarrassing Huff.
During Christmas break, Sly had let Huff know that they were planning on proposing to Huff. And it was very low key, until the day before school started again. Huff is eating with their friends and suddenly the door opens and Sly comes waltzing in. Everyone stops talking and the whole hall becomes quiet. Even the teachers were looking over at them curiously. Sly stops and points at Huff.
-With the exception of you, I dislike everyone in this room! He announces. Then he casually walks to the Slytherin table, the hall still eerily quiet. But Huff didn't let the small- well, huge, announcement of affection go unnoticed.
-I love you too! They yell as people 'aww' and applaud before going on about their own business.
Their last day at Hogwarts... and it seemed like they started just yesterday.
Now they're standing around and hugging each other goodbye and trying not to poke each other in the eyes with their graduation caps.
Then left is just Huff, Huff's family and Sly. Huff and Sly are standing hand in hand, looking at the castle they call home. The Huff tries to kiss their love's cheek, but failing miserably. Sly notices the attempts and laughs lightly.
-Why do you have to be so tall? Huff asks and pouts childishly.
-It has its advantages, Slytherin shrugs.
-Like...? Huff asks. Slytherin gazes down at their significant other. The they lean down slightly, to leave a light kiss on Huffs forehead.
-That, for example, Sly says and smiles. Huff makes an unhappy face and takes hold of Sly's robe's collar and smashes their lips together.
-There we go, Huff says and straightens our Sly's robe. Sly looks dazed at them and smile as they share one last glance at the castle of Hogwarts.
