Y/N POV:
I know what you're thinking. Who is that girl, with the weird accent? The way she walks is nothing like the others in fang. She should be ashamed!
Well I'm Y/N and I'm from Talon. Well, originally. I was mistakenly taken to Fang when I was 13.
We had all gathered at heart, but someone broke the crystal and all tribes took a piece of it. As the druun were creating havoc in heart, I got lost in the crowd. You see, I was chief Dang Hai's niece. My parents had died of a cruel sickness when I was just 4 years old. But Dang Hai had taken me under his wing and had taught me all about Talons culture. But in the crowd, he had left me behind. I was left to fend for myself. But at the end of the bridge, I saw people waving for us that was left standing to join them. I ran as fast as my little legs could take me, before I finally got into the boat. As it started floating away from land, away from the druun, I caught my breath and looked around. Everyone around me wore white clothes. Everyone except me. Then I see the chieftess of Fang and her daughter, who were both looking disgusted at me.
-who are you? The chieftess sneered.
-I'm sorry, I didn't have anywhere else to go! I defended myself.
-But you're from Talon right? Why didn't you go with them? The daughter asked.
-P-please, I- they left me alone I couldn't do anything! Please just take me to talon and I won't be a problem anymore, I promise. But the chieftess softened her features and... smiled at me?
-It's ok child. You can come, live with us. Become a part of Fang, she says and puts a hand on my shoulder.
-Mother? The cheiftess' daughter asks.
-What? I ask.
-Well your uncle Dang Hai left you there, didn't he? Along with everyone else in your tribe? The cheiftess asks.
-Y-yes...? I say.
-Then stay. You are better off with us than with Dang Hai. Or so it seems. It's up to you, the cheiftess says. Her daughter looks hesitantly at me, before looking up at her mother. She just looks at her daughter before looking back at me.
-So what is your decision, child? The cheiftess asks.
-I-I... I'll stay, I say. The cheiftess smiles.
-A wise decision. You are a smart child. You will fit into fang flawlessly, she says.
-I am chieftess Virana. And this, is my daughter Namaari, she introduces herself and her daughter.
-I'm Y/N, I say.
-Say Y/N, what is your preference on cats? Namaari asks smugly.
And here I've lived since that day. They dug a canal of water to stop the druun from entering the city of fang soon after my arrival. I've been trained in military combat and also gained a security, a friend in Namaari. In the beginning she used to tease me with scary stories and empty threats. But she soon realized that I am more of a friend than the enemy. Although chieftess Virana had to push Namaari to realize it, it still happened. We train a lot together, but she doesn't let me go on missions with her after the times she's been out of fang. She tells me it's too dangerous for me out there, even with my level of training. Although I don't believe her, I trust her word for it and I stopped asking to go.

Her and I have rooms next to each other. In the highest tower of the palace. Her room is bigger though, but I don't complain. I'm glad for a roof over my head and food on the table.
I knock on her bedroom door.
-Come in! She says. I walk in with my surprise behind my back and smile largely at her as she turns around to see who just stepped into her room.
-Hey Y/N! She smiles.
-Hey Namaari. What are you up to? I ask and sit down on her bed.
-Getting ready for the next mission, she answers and straps her belt on to secure her swords.
-And I'll miss youuu, I drag out. She laughs.
-I'll be gone for two weeks max, she says and walks over to me.
-I know but I'll be so bored. What am I going to do without my buddy here? I ask.
-I don't know, you'll figure something out I hope, she teases and I push her slightly and she laughs once more.
-Anyways, this is not the reason I came in here, I say.
-No? And I thought we were having fun, she says jokingly and I roll my eyes. I hold out the surprise from behind me and she takes it.
-It's some Y/N made snacks, so that you still remember me when you're away, I say.
-I won't be gone for that long, she says again.
-I know... I can still come with you if I could, I say.
-I know you would. But it's too dangerous, I don't want you to turn into stone, she says defensively.
-I know, I know, I sigh. It turns quiet and I frown.
-But hey. I'll still have the snacks with me and I don't think snacks turn into stone, she says happily to bring the mood back up, and I grin.
-And I'll think of you with every bite, she says and takes a few of the snacks and pop them in her mouth.
-Hey save a bit for the mission! I protest and immediately stand up to grab the box they came in again. Namaari is taller than me and holds up the box in the air so I can't reach it. I chase it around as she spins and throws it from hand to hand, before I give up. I pout like a child at her and she only grins back at me, making me blush. Then she takes down the box and closes it carefully, taking a step towards me so that she is only a couple of centimeters away from my face.
-Thanks though. I'm definitely gonna need more of these when I get back, she says. I smile and blush a bit more.
-It would be my pleasure, bà chúa (princess), I say jokingly and bow deeply.
Namaari POV:
I blush as she bows, and I scoff and gently shove her shoulder. I quickly calm myself as she looks back up and stands straight again.
-Yeah yeah yeah, I wave her off.
-Now you gotta get to your mission! Go go! Y/N shoves me towards the door. I laugh as I stop in the doorway and look back at her.
-And you'll be here when I come back? I ask.
-I always am, Y/N reassures me. I smile and nod, before walking towards the cats stables.
My blush returns, more prominent this time as I look down at the carefully hand made box with the snacks. I grin to myself as I pack them down with the rest of my stuff in the saddle bags.

-Princess Namaari, are you ready to take the lead? I hear general Atitaya ask me. I turn to her.
-Are you feeling alright? You looked flushed, the general asks.
-Yes I'm just fine, just a bit warm, that's all, I reassure her and she just nods.
-I am ready to take the troops out, I say. The general nods and I take my cat and walk outside.
Y/N POV:
When I'm sure Namaari has gotten down and is ready to leave the city, I walk to her window and hang on the windowsill as I see her waving the troops to follow her. I smile as I see them quickly heading out of my sight. Then I leave her room to meet the chieftess.
-Good morning Chieftess Virana, I say and greet her.
-Good morning Y/N. I am guessing that you just waved Namaari goodbye, she says and I nod sheepishly. But Virana smiles.
-It's amazing how good friends you've become. I can still remember your bickering about how dragons looked and what powers they should've had, she smiles fondly and I giggle.
-So do I, I agree.
-Well, I suppose that while she is gone you are going to handle the welfare of fang, she says.
-Don't I always? I ask sarcastically. Virana smiles playfully and nods for me to start on my tasks. I nod and bow before running out into the city square where I see children playing football.
Two and a half weeks later, Namaari POV:
I leave the deserts of spine, frustrated that I couldn't retrieve Raya and the gem pieces. The company is completely quiet as we slowly ride back home. I open the saddle bag and grab the box with the snacks. I sigh as there's only three left. I pop them into my mouth before looking sadly around. I do wish Y/N came with me at this point. She would've found a way to follow Raya, or at least cheer me up. I put the box back into the saddle bag.
-Let's pick up some speed and we'll be home by tomorrow before noon, I shout at the company before we start soaring through the desert.
A sinking feeling fills my stomach. I just wanted to be home right now. I've never liked bringing mom bad news, especially when I was so enthusiastic in the start. I just wish Y/N hadn't had too much fun or been too bored without me....
And the fact that she won't leave my head! Ugh! I don't understand how I have become so infatuated with her. For the latest two years, she's been the only thing on my mind and I hate it, but I love it... I can't decide, she's just... perfect. I sigh again. I should tell her. Or I should do something... but what?
I mean, I would ask mom to go to Spine to meet Raya there to ambush her and retrieve the pieces... maybe I could go home by talon and get her something from there. I make up my mind... that's what I'm gonna do.
The next day:
I listen to the general and my mother arguing about the expansion of Fang and the dangers of it.
-I might have a solution for that mother, I say and greet her.
-Ah my little morning mist, it's good to see you home, mother says.
-I've located Raya, she's out stealing gem pieces, I tell her.
-What? Mother asks in disbelief.
-I'd like to take the royal army and ambush her in spine, I propose.
-Well if she's going to spine, I bet there won't be much for you to ambush, mother says.
-She's more capable than you realize, she continues.
-We have to stop her, I insist. My mother sighs and puts a hand on my shoulder.
-Walk with me, she says.
-Look around. We made all of this by making smart decisions, not emotional ones, mother explains while gesturing with her staff with her gem piece.
-We are safe here, our canal protects us from those monsters. I don't think it's wise to risk yourself when you don't have to, she explains and I think... that's what I always told Y/N.
-You heard the general, we're running out of space and we need to expand, I stop her in her tracks. I want her to let me go and retrieve the other gem pieces so that we can expand and I can keep Y/N safe.
-If we had all the gem pieces we could do that safely. You're right, this isn't an emotional decision, it's the only decision to secure Fangs future, I explain. Although it was a very emotional answer, I can see that she believed every word I said. Mother looks at the gem piece before smiling at me.
-Namaari, you've truly grown into the leader I raised you to be, mother says gladly.
-General Atitaya, ready the royal army for my daughters command, she hits the stag into the ground and the general does as she is told.
-Thank you mother, I won't let you down, I thank her.
Y/N POV:
I walk past and greet the general as I am on my daily walk through the palace, as I see Virana and...
-Namaari! I yell and they look towards me. I lift my pants/skirt as I run down the small stairs and rush towards Namaari. She looks at me and smiles. I jump up into her arms and embrace her and she catches me. When I let go I fix her hair as I explain.
-Nobody told me that you were back, I smile.
-I just needed to have a quick talk with my mother, Namaari tells me and I hastily greet the cheiftess.
-Sorry my lady, I say and Namaari laughs at me.
-It's alright child, she says and I look sheepishly to Namaari who grins at me.
-Well I'll leave you to alone. Seems like you need to catch up, Chieftess Virana says and walks away, smiling smugly.
-Huh, weird... anyways, I say and turn back to Namaari. Namaari looks weirdly at me.
-What? Did I leave some lunch on my face? I ask and try to smudge the corners of my mouth.
-hmmm? Oh no no, you're fine, she says.
-Why thank you, I tease and she nudges my shoulder and I laugh. I see that her ears turns slightly pink, and she brushes her side cut behind her ear again.
-Bow let's go, tell me everything, I say and drag her arm to take a nice walk along the kingdom.
If only she knew how happy I was that she was back home.....
