《Vanilla Smoke (Blue Exorcist)》Chapter 1

They sat on a train, and stared out at the large city before them absently. With their hood back, their face could now be seen. They had short, light brown hair with the ends dyed a royal purple, hair messy and unkept and was constantly in their eyes, but they really could care less. In his ears, there were four piercings in total. Two silver rings in the cartilage of their ear, and two normal piercings at the bottom, with two, simple, silver ball earrings in them. They had a pair of black earbuds in, tuning out the world. They were in their hoodie, done in black and purple. Most of the hoodie was black with an embroidered dragon on the back, and coming down to the middle of the front of the hoodie. The interior of the hoodie was also purple.
Other than the hoodie they wore a pair of dark wash jeans, and a pair of what looked like normal combat boots. They blew the hair out of one eye, and someone could actually catch the deep green of their eyes, but they lacked light, dull and cold as a winter night. Across the other eye, could just make out a white line that disappeared under their hair, but no doubt went across their other eye. Their hair went back in their eye, obscuring it from view.
By the way they looked and dressed, no one could really tell their gender upon a glance. Was it on purpose, or were they just a guy. They mostly looked like a guy though, and that's what they acted like too. A moody, uncaring kid who ignored the world and gave out free glares of death.
He stared at the city, it rose up in the middle, like some mountain city, with a large castle like building at it's peak. A river isolated the city from the rest, bridges went to and from the mountain city. The view was cut off by a tunnel, and he blinked, but other than that, there was no reaction on his emotionless face. The train speed through the tunnel, and across a bridge into the heart of the city.
The train slowed to a stop, and the doors opened up, and people got up and left. Throwing his hood back up, he got up, a backpack on his back, and got off the train. Walking up the steps, he caught a bus straight to the school, and then got off the bus to look at the school. It was made like some manner, with a large walkway to it's front, and multiple windows, and multiple stories. Ignoring a few curious looks as he walked into the school without uniform. Stopping right at the entrance, he turned around just in time to see a familiar pink limo stop and let off two familiar boys, then drive away.
He smirked in amusement before walking inside and up to a large desk up front, handing his paper the a lady at the front desk and stopped, resting his hands in his hoodie pockets and tapping his foot, the lady verified the paper he had given him.

"Shuku Murasaki, welcome to True Cross Academy, and congratulations on a full scholarship here. Here is your schedule as well as the package for the special program. Hope you enjoy stay." The lady smiled at Shuku as she handed him two envelopes. One had a weight inside it, the other was thick with papers.
"Thank you, have a nice day." Shuku returned the pleasantry stoically before walking off into the auditorium.
It was packed, which wasn't necessarily something he liked. In order to keep suspicious adults from kicking him out, he put down his hood, and kept walking in. Finding a seat in the back, Shuku sunk into the theatre-like chair and watched the stage far below. Ignoring most of what they said, he just let his mind wander. His curiosity for that idiotic kid still in his mind.
"Meet your freshman class representative, Yukio Okumura." The man on stage announced, and Shuku looked up. Yukio? Wasn't that the kid with glasses? Yeah, it was.
"Yes sir." Yukio stood up, and Shuku let out an amused huff. So Glasses was that smart, huh.
A few murmurs about how smart Yukio was passed through the crowd of student. Shuku smirked, guess that made Glasses Mr. Popular right from the start? Hate to be him.
"To be able to join you at True Cross, a school I've long admired, is something both thrilling and sobering." Glasses began. Nope, sorry Glasses, Shuku would much rather go be doing something illegal and getting in trouble for it but never being caught. He blinked, then went back to listening to Yukio's speech.
"... standards of this special place. I'm your freshman class rep, Yukio Okumura." Glasses finished. After Glasses finished talking, Shuku slipped an earbud in from under his hoodie, and zoned out. He had heard all he wanted to, the rest was just yesterday's dog shit. No need to pay attention to that.
After the assembly, Shuku flipped his hood back up over his head and casually walked out, hands in his jacket pockets, his papers in his jacket pockets. Student's were being sorted into little tour groups so they could get a good look of the school without getting too lost. Shuku thought a moment about ditching to go grab an ice cream or something. Glancing around, he spotted Glasses and Idiot. Yukio was being asked question's by a few childish looking girl who were obviously fawning over him. Shuku scoffed, like that would get them anywhere.
The girls had found out that Glasses was in the Advanced classes, and Shuku looked down at his schedule. As it stood, he would probably share most his classes with Yukio, whatever, more time to be entertained, though he would much prefer it if he was in the same classes as the idiot. That guy was definitely going to make all sorts of disturbances. Those where the best kind to watch.

Shuku saw a pissy look on Idiots face, and blinked. What had gotten his panties in a twist all of a sudden? Then Idiot noticed Shuku for the first time. Shuku averted his eyes, and looked down at his schedule, like he hadn't been watching, or noticed anything at all. Idiot narrowed his eyes and walked over to Shuku. He looked up from his schedule and met idiots gaze cooly, and stared at Idiot's outstretched hand.
"Rin Okumura, hope we can become friends." He introduced with a beaming, closed eye smile. Shuku blinked in slight surprise. Not expecting that.
"Shuku Murasaki, good luck with that." Shuku returned, but didn't shake Rin's hand. He looked back down at his schedule, and Idiot peaked at it, without persmission.
"Wow, your in the same level classes as Yukio! You didn't seem like the smart, ugh...." Rin trailed off as he met a cold stare from Shuku. This guy gave off a bad feeling, but Rin didn't let it bother him.
"You're too close. And that's stereotyping someone. You shouldn't judge like you know someone based off their looks, that could very well lead to you ending up dead in an alley." Shuku hooded his eyes and walked off, he didn't feel like playing along with Idiot's conversation.
Rin blinked, definity not the friend type.
*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*'*
Shuku gave the scenery an indifferent stare. Rich kid school, rich kid looks. On the inside, he was genuinely impressed that a place like this was a school. It seemed more like some high end mall or a mansion rather than a place from learning, but he wouldn't know that. Shuku sighed, navigating this place later was going to be a pain in the ass. Every room had big windows and was big enough to hold several of the places that Shuku had lived in inside them.
A staff member that had previously been giving them a tour told the students that they could go back to their dorms to settle in. After giving the general direction of the dorms, everyone seemed to disperse.
Shuku stopped outside in one of the schools courtyards and opened up the other envelope. An odd looking key fell out along with a single slip of paper, putting the key inside his jacket pockets, Shuku open the paper and read it:
Welcome to True Cross Academy's top of the line Cram school.
You have qualified to attend this magnificent program to train to become an exorcist. The key you have been provided with is one of many. Use it on any door you'd like and it will take you immediately to your new learning experience. At our Cram school, you will learn pharmaceutics, demonology, magic circles and seals, summoning and sorcery as well as many other useful skill that just might save you life will fighting demons as an exorcist. School starts directly after classes at our normal school and last until 6 in the afternoon. Best not be late!
Your director, Yoann Pheles IV
The sheer enthusiasm of the not left a bad taste in Shuku's mouth. Head perking up at the sight of the Idiot being dragged along by a little white dog caught his attention. Slipping the note along with the key into his hoodie. Shuku darted off to follow Rin and the little white dog out of curiosity. They ran through the school and Shuku was not too far behind them, but just enough not to be heard or seen, easily keeping pace.
The dog and Rin stopped at a forested road like area near one of the city's garden's. Shuku darked into the bushes to watch. The dog jumped up onto a light post pillar like thing, and then disappeared in a poof of smoke, to be replaced by Clown.
Rin jumped back in surprise while Shuku gave the clown a WTF stare. Shuku was pretty sure people couldn't turn into dogs.
"Pardon me, but it would be unseemly for the director of the Academy to be caught prowling around the halls during the day." He stated.
Idiot said something stupid and unheard of, and clown turned him down. Shuku scoffed in the bushes. Idiot's still at it!
Clown tossed Rin a key, and he caught it and looked at it in confusion, it was the same key Shuku now had in his hoodie pockets. Didn't that mean that Idiot was going to cram school? Wow, was he going to get a reality check real soon.
Clown explained the key's purpose, and how it went into the cram school.
"Cram school?" Idiot asked, he got a key but didn't know what the cram school was? Yup, dead meat for the cat.
"It's where you'll train to become an Exorcist." Clown explained, and Shuku blinked. Idiot was gonna be an Exorcist, interesting, wonder what a doofus like that wanted to be an exorcist for?
Clown continued to explain about the cram school, with Rin listening intently. Hadn't that guy gotten the letter?
High school classes start next week, but cram school, that's starts Today." Shuku blinked. What? Today? Damn it!
Shuku grabbed hold of his key and prepared to leave.
"It would be best if you kept the whole 'Son of Satan thing' confidential. " Shuku froze, and looked back at Rin before disappearing.
Yup, definitely interesting. Now that Shuku knew who exactly he was following. The son of Satan.
