《Irondad & Spiderson》Attack Part 2

Peter woke up with a headache. He reached up a hand to touch the sore bump on the back of his head but was stopped abruptly. He turned his head to see his hands were chained to the dank wall he was leaning against. Memories flashed as Peter remembered what happened. One second he was on the subway taking a selfie with his dad and the next he was here.
Dad!
The teenager quickly began searching for any signs of Steve. Despite the limited lighting, he was able to see with his enhanced eyesight. Thank you, Mr. Spider. The first glance around the room he missed it but the second time around he noticed a limp in the corner of the room. It could've been a blanket or anything really, but when Peter whispered "Dad?", it shifted.
"Dad?" Peter practically cried while keeping his voice down. He felt tears well up in his eyes as he heard his dad groan in pain.
Steve began moving, slowly bringing himself into a sitting position. It was obvious from his clenched teeth and narrowed eyes how much pain he was in. Similarly to Peter, he tried to touch his head but was stopped by chains. Unlike Peter's though, the chains were a little longer, allowing Steve more room to move about the room.
When Steve opened his eyes, he immediately noticed Peter, his kid bruised and scared and chained and worried. He didn't deserve this.
"Peter?" Steve's voice cracked, whether from emotions or pain it wasn't clear.
Both wanted to cry. But both tried their best not to. They couldn't let the other know how afraid they really were.
Steve stood shakily and tried to get close to Peter. He was only two feet away; he was so close. Peter stretched his hands out as far as he could, trying with everything he had to hug his dad.

The chains pulled taut. They were six inches apart. So close, but so far. That's when Peter started crying. Seeing his son's panicked state brought tears to Steve's eyes.
"Hey, Peter. It's okay" Steve tried to console his kid. "We'll be okay. Don't worry. Please don't cry. We'll find a way out of here. I'm sure Tony is on his way right now."
The tears didn't show any signs of stopping, though Peter tried. It didn't take long before his breathing grew shallow and frantic, his heart racing. He began to shake. A panic attack.
Shit shit shit shit shit, Steve thought. Peter needed to be touched, it was how he was grounded. The chains around both of their wrists prevented that. Steve's heart broke seeing Peter so afraid and vulnerable. He was so close. Just a couple more inches.
Steve's face lit up. He had an idea. "I'll be right back, Peter. I promise I won't leave you". It didn't seem like Peter heard.
The super soldier stood up and ran back to his side of the cell where the chains were attached to the wall. It was a stupid plan, but it just might work. Steve took off running. He had about ten feet of chain before he would be stopped. The hope was if he could gain enough speed he would be able to pull the restraints off the wall.
The chains stopped. Steve cried out in pain but tried to bury it down. He couldn't let Peter know he was hurt. What he didn't notice was the metal rings the chains were attached to had pulled off the wall slightly.
Cradling his sore wrists, Steve tried again. This time, he noticed he was getting closer. Not by much, but he was getting closer. Closer to his son.

One more time. Steve thought. One more time, he ran again. One more time. Again. One more time. Again. And again. And again and again and again.
Until the chains broke off the wall.
The metal made a loud clanking sound as it fell to the concrete floor but Steve couldn't bring himself to care. There was a possibility their captors heard the noise but Steve couldn't bring himself to care. His wrists were definitely injured in some way but Steve couldn't bring himself to care. All that mattered was Peter.
The second he was able to, Steve enveloped Peter in a firm hug. He stroked his hair and back, whispered soothingly in his ear, reaffirmed his presence. It took a few minutes but Peter's panic attack disappeared. His breathing grew slow and deep; his heart calmed to a normal pace, beating slower but stronger; his shaking stopped; the tears stopped falling.
For the first time since his panic attack, Peter looked up at his dad. He looked up in wonder and love and amazement. "H-How did you do that?"
"Do what?" Steve turned his head in confusion.
"You broke out of the chains. How?"
Steve smiled down at his son. "I couldn't bear to just leave you like that. I had to help you. You're my kid, Peter. I have to take care of you."
Peter returned his father's smile. "I love you" He burrowed his head into the crook of Steve's neck. Just being able to touch his dad was soothing and comforting. Steve opened his mouth, fully prepared to say "I love you more" but was stopped.
"Awww. How cute. What a pity neither of you will live through this" a deep, gravely voice spoke from the shadows.
Steve instinctively pulled Peter behind him, shielding him from the threat, protecting him from harm. Despite his fear, his voice was strong. "Who are you? What do you want?"
The mysterious voice laughed mockingly. "I'm hurt, Captain Rogers. Surely you couldn't forget me" he stepped from the shadows.
"Red Skull" Steve breathed in horror and surprise.
"That's right" the villain laughed. "I am Red Skull. And I want to kill Tony Stark"

Ph. D. In Sorcery
Follow Anastasia, the unlucky physicist turned wizard, as her reality gets turned upside down and she is plunged into a world of gods, magic, swords, and adventure. Short and sweet description, anything more would be a spoiler and I detest those. Now, what you can expect from reading: This is my first time writing, or better said allowing someone else to read that mess so don’t raise your expectations too much. Still, I will try to keep the story flowing, while also devoting as much time as I can to editing. In my opinion, the story is written at a faster pace than normal with time skips here and there. I will do my best to not allow the faster pace to ruin the story by using those time skips to raise the skill of the main character. I am mainly looking for feedback while I test myself in new and unexplored waters. I did put a lot of thought into worldbuilding and the magic system, it is something that has been mulling inside my head for years before I sat down to write anything down. First and foremost I am an engineer and not a writer. I will try to do my utmost to make the world logical and consistent, but sometimes I might not express that in a way that’s clearly understood. I have a rough outline with several possible endings, but the story will change and evolve as I do. But in case I have to stop for whatever reason, the story will get an ending. It will be done even if I have to send coded messages from a bunker. I am a big fan of the Dresden Files so you can be certain that everything mentioned will in most cases be used, with a few red herrings sprinkled in the mix. But that also means I will enjoy putting the main character through the meat grinder while I eat popcorn and laugh from my evil lair. Physics, and to be more precise electromagnetism, quantum field theory, general and special relativity are very interesting topics for me that I research in my spare time. That means that the premise of the story will be using that research to bring logic to magic. Stupid I know, magic is magic, but to me, there is no reason why there shouldn’t be a concrete set of rules there. But it is still magic and that allows me to play with some things that shouldn’t normally be possible. I will focus on evolving the main character and having her react as anyone normal would, from my perspective. There will be scenes of battle, gore, and sexy times, but I will not go into too many details, counting on your imagination to fill the gaps. There will be plenty of combat, even battles ranging from a few dozen, a hundred, and thousands of participants. I could go on but there isn’t much to say that would convince anyone to read, either you thought the title was cool or you liked the poster. Or not, but after several days in photoshop, that’s the best I could do. And the title was originally Sorceress with a Ph.D. The new one makes a little less sense but I like the ring of it more for some reason. I just hope someone enjoys what I write as much as I do. In the end that is the reason, I am doing this, because I enjoy putting my thoughts on paper and seeing the outcome. Credit for the art: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/e0o8nw

The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)

#Call Cthulhu
An eldritch comedy. After Cthulhu is summoned into the world, the whole place goes to shit. Things really got out of hand after Cthulhu got nuked. Alex and Julius, a pair of brothers, try their best to make it in a North America reshaped by an eldritch apocalypse. “Stop right there Philip!” Julius interrupted, the vein on his temple starting to throb. “I do not want to hear another simile about what magic is. I have had magic explained to me by three cult leaders, a wizard, and a cannibal. I've heard that magic is like a rainbow, all its parts blending together. The human unconsciousness, powerful and unknowable. A body, you don't want to eat the heart straight away. I am sick and tired of people telling me what magic is. I know damn well what it is.” He drew a breath, interrupting his rant. “Magic is a bad joke. A whole lot of setup, for some nonsense punchline. This whole god-damned apocalypse is an eldritch comedy.”
