"Let's go, [l/n] [y/n]." you nod at the tall silver-haired man who was now carrying your luggage and escorting you outside of the apartment —an apartment you could never bring yourself to call home.
____________________
"Gojo-sensei," you said, holding his hand to guide you down the bus steps as you reach your destination: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School.
"I'm nervous."
He looked at you and smiled saying, "I'm sure you'll be fine."
Blindly walking to reach the barrier of what will be your new school, you quietly succumb to your anxiety and thoughts about meeting your new classmates while following Gojo-sensei.
The walk was undoubtedly long. You wondered if this was meant for traveling on feet, or if you were supposed to ride a vehicle for easier travel. Nonetheless, you didn't complain since this would stall your time before meeting with the others. But even without sight you knew that one thing is for sure— you were certainly in the outskirts of Tokyo.
His walking came to a halt. He then announced, "[y/n], we're here."
You then turned your head around, but unfortunately for you, you could see nothing but faint light seeping through your closed eyes.
"How're you liking your new school so far? First impressions?" He asked expectantly. "Well sensei, it smells leafier and nicer here I guess..." He chuckled, almost mockingly, at your insight. "Oh, right! I forgot. Gomen~"
You were irked by his derisive comment, but calmly, you asked him, "Sensei, can I peek?" You faced his direction with pleading eyes, not that he could actually see them.
"" . . . "w h y ;-; "
"Because the reason why we're wearing matching bandages is because I'm going to start training you to use your other senses when your sight fails you." He said in a 'matter of fact' tone.
"Can't you make an exemption today?" "Nope."
"Why're you wearing bandages as well though?" you curiously asked, anticipating a very logical and smart explanation as to why he did this to his eyes as well. "For style."
. . . "that's it?" "Mhm. I did your bandage quite stylish as well, don't worry." "Sensei, the more I get to know you, the more my respect for you decreases..." you said in a dead serious tone, but barely audible— mumbling it as you face a different direction. "Hm?" "Nothing."
"Now, [y/n], instead of peeking, I want you to observe your surroundings. While I get your luggage to the main building, why don't you try touching, smelling, and listening to the school? Well then, ja ne ~ !" "Matte sensei!" But too late, he already runoff.
You actually listened to him. You trusted that at the very least, the process that he is making you undergo will be useful at the end of the day.
So like a lunatic, you stretched your arms and started walking, feeling for anything that might be in the way. You heard your footsteps shift from sounding like walking on top of coarse rocks to walking on top of grass by the way your shoes dragged through the greens below your feet.
Water. You heard water swish as the air changed direction, meaning that nearby, you should expect there to be a small body of water, maybe a small pond for koi fish.
"Tuna tuna"
The first years of Tokyo Jujutsu High looked to where Inumaki pointed, to find a girl with bandaged eyes nearing the small pond they had in their school's front yard.
"Let's go and ask her who she is. There's a high possibility that the girl would be the newly added student that Gojo has been talking about."

You hear footsteps approaching you and you halt from walking forward to try to face where the footsteps came from. "Gojo-sensei?"
"No. First years of Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School. You are?" A stern female voice asked.
"[y-y/n] [l/n]." "Oh! So she is our added classmate." A low grumble of a voice, almost bear-like you note, said in response. "Salmon." A soft, gentle, and quiet but audible male voice answers back.
"Y-yeah! That would be me." "By the way... are you blind? You're not facing our direction, if you're not aware." The stern girl spoke. Embarrassment filled you as blood rushed to your face, making your cheeks red.
"I'm not blind. But I'm still not used to the bandages that Gojo-sensei wrapped around my eyes. A-am I facing you now?" "Salmon, salmon." The gentle male voice answered.
"Oho, I see that you've already met each other! Still, let me formally introduce you to one another." Gojo said as he returned from putting your luggage in front of the main building.
"Maki Zenin!" "Osu." "She is very skilled in handling cursed weapons."
"Inumaki Toge!" "Salmon." "A cursed speech user!"
"Panda!" "Hello ^^" "He's a panda. That's about it!" "Matte matte, there was a panda—"
"NOW! Let's go to your dorm, shall we [y/n]?" Gojo cuts you and starts walking, expecting you to follow; and so, you did.
With stretched arms, you walked slowly and tried to pick up the sounds of Gojo's footsteps. His pace was quite fast and you struggled to tag along, but you managed, trailing a couple of feet behind him.
"[y/n] beware of the stairs." Gojo warned, right as you stepped forward— a second too late to save you from sliding down the steps.
"Okaka..."
'It hurts' you thought to yourself. "Sensei... let's go." You said after composing yourself from the fall. "You mad?" He asked with a teasing smile. In response, you just gave out a huff. You weren't really mad, just embarrassed. It was your first time meeting your classmates and already, you looked like a fool in front of them.
"She looks kinda weak, don't you think? What's up with her eyes?" Maki brought up. "Don't say that... there must be a reason why she covers her eyes. We shouldn't judge a book by it" Panda sweatdropped at Maki's harsh assumptions. "Salmon, salmon."
____________________
"We're here. That'll be your new room now until you graduate." Gojo stated. You walked inside and started to feel for the room with your hands. "Woah, the room is kinda big. It's like a small apartment..." "Yup! It's moderately sized. Your bed is there at the center. Although, you can move it somewhere else if you want."
"For compensation for earlier, I'm allowing you to remove your bandages! That way, I don't have to help you set up your luggage as well! Win-win for me." Gojo merrily announced.
Though a part of you wanted to keep it on for your sensei to suffer having to help you fix your room, the majority of you wanted to remove the bandages that were keeping you from seeing. Plus, you wouldn't want this man to be judging all of your belongings without you even seeing them yourself.
You carefully remove the bandages around your eyes, and for the first time today, you were able to see. "Woah! So this is the room... It looked different in my brain..." The tall man behind you wore a satisfied smile. "Well then, I'm leaving. Wear bandages again after settling and check out the campus." He said before walking away from the room.

You went outside the door to take your luggage inside your new room. Afterward, you started unpacking and settling all of your belongings.

After a while had passed, you were satisfied with moving everything outside the boxes and bags you were carrying. Obeying your sensei's orders, you wore the bandages over your eyes once again and went outside of your room, carrying flattened boxes that were once used to hold your belongings during travel.
"Ah [l/n] there you are. So this is your dorm huh. Just beside Inumaki's. Our rooms are also here, just beside each other's. Gojo-sensei told us to tour you around the vicinity, so come with us and we'll show you around." A low grumble— the panda, said. "Oh, ok! Please take care of me!" you bowed in front of them.
Maki observed you carefully as if piercing through your soul. Though you could not see her, you felt it— you felt as if someone was watching you.
____________________
After touring throughout the vicinity, the sun was now descending and the night was starting to show itself.
"I think we should wrap up and call it a day." Maki said. "Consider this a day off since tomorrow, I'm sure we'll be starting training."
"Salmon."
"Ok then, let's go back to the dorms." Panda said.
The walk since the tour was always silent, always awkward. You weren't sure if the three of them aren't close with each other, or if it's because of your presence around them that make them feel uncomfortable. There was connection lacking, and you hope that with the magic and flow of time, you'll be able to close the gap that hinders you from being close to them. You hope that soon, you'll be able to be treated and treat these people as your friends, or even family, given that you'll be with each other for 4 years more.
____________________
You now reach your dormitories after the walk around the campus. "Goodbye then! Thank you for today!" you say before entering your room and shutting the door.
"Will she not eat dinner?" Maki askes, confused as to why you went into your room as if you weren't going back outside. "Maybe she doesn't know that we usually eat dinner together? Inumaki, why don't you knock and call her later before dinner starts?" Panda asked Inumaki.
"Okaka." "What? Why? You're neighbors, you do it!" "... salmon."
____________________
A knock was heard from outside your room. Quickly, you bandage your eyes messily and drop the ladle you were using to cook soup for dinner on top of the counter. "Hello?" You said as you opened the door. "Konbu." It was Inumaki.
"Uh... do you need anything, Inumaki-kun?" you ask him.
Inumaki was struggling. Without your sight and without his words, communication was barely achievable.
Putting his fingers on his right hand together, he touched your lips. "aaaaa" he made a noise. "Oh! Eat? I made soup just now for dinner if you want." Trying to stay calm and suppress blood from rushing through your cheeks, you took a deep breath and pointed towards the pot of soup you made.
Inumaki sighed. At least you got the eating part, but inviting you to dinner was another task. It was already hard enough gathering the courage to touch someone else just for communication.
"Tuna?" He said, pointing inside her room. You felt his arm stretched by the way the air change right beside you. So using your hands, you located his arms and tried to figure out why his arm was stretched, to find he was pointing towards the inside of your room. "You want to enter? I-I mean... sure I guess... It's still a little messy."
He entered, taking the pot of soup you made and the ladle that sat on the counter. He grabbed the hem of your sleeve and guided you outside until you reached the room where the others ate dinner together.
The golden, off-white-haired boy with the girl he dragged, entered the room. His cheeks a light tint of pink from the flustering encounter with you. He was glad that you could not see the color in his cheeks, but unfortunately for him, his two friends seated on the floor did not fail to notice.
The two friends looked a little confused at the reaction of the cursed user. He in turn gave them a face that said, please, no.
"Ahem. Oh [l/n] made soup? Cool!" Panda said. "If you don't know, we usually eat dinner together. It gets lonely eating alone." Maki explained. "Salmon."
You smiled and said, "Thank you for inviting me." and sat where Inumaki guided me to sit.
Although it would be a struggle to eat without sight, there's always a first for everything. Plus, you did not want to take the easy way out when things get hard for you. Limiting the sight was a challenge you were tasked to overcome. By making excuses and giving up when things get hard, progress will never be made. Besides, eating without sight was far easier than she expected, especially when she compared it to travelling throughout the school without getting lost.
"[l/n] if you don't mind me asking, why do you bandage your eyes like Gojo?" Maki asked.
"Oh, I don't mind. I'm a cursed sight user."
"Eh? Isn't that a passed technique specialty that usually only comes from the Hitomi Clan?" Panda asked.
"I was also told that... Well, it's kinda complicated though. All I know is that I was a love child of one of the clan members." you answered truthfully. "Sensei told me they were dying out, and although they wanted a cursed user in their family, the current head thinks it would be a disgrace to let someone with a different last name into the Hitomi clan. Not that I'd actually want to be part of their family though..."
"Complicated." Maki uttered after you shared. Well, you didn't really care about the Hitomi clan, because you never considered yourself to be a part of it.
"Salmon"
"What happens when you look at someone?" Panda asked curiously.
Cursed Sight, inherited from the Hitomi Clan. When the eye directly looks at a moving being, it slows its movements drastically as long as the eyes are open. The ability demands high usage of cursed energy, therefore strains the eyes remarkably. When the ability is in use, every blink becomes heavier, making the user struggle in opening or incapable of opening their eyes for a period of time. Wearing any sort of protection on the eyes is mostly for the safety and conservation of energy of the user themselves. Although it would be troublesome for other people who might accidentally get affected by the curse.
"Then doesn't that mean you could use anything that will be considered indirect contact? Like glasses for example?" Maki brought up, slightly confused. "Well, that's true. In fact, I'd rather wear glasses than be blindfolded. But Gojo-sensei is trying to train me to move without sight so that if my eyes give up during a fight, I wouldn't be a burden for others."
"Makes sense. Well, we look forward to training with you tomorrow." Panda said. "Salmon Salmon" Inumaki gave a thumbs up, but you couldn't really see it.
After today, you knew that finally, you could call a place home, and name people family. All you needed was a little more time.
