《The Three WolfMates》Chapter 43 - Free Mind

Liam POV
"Who do y'all think it is," I raised a question to everyone at our lunch table.
We were now at lunch trying to figure out how Alex knew where I was. I wanted to wait until the triplets returned to school from their trip to Greece to finally have this conversation.
Their plane landed in the early hours of yesterday morning and they were too tired to attend school but here they are now.
"The only persons who knew who Alex was were you, your family, and Emmy," Dethan replied.
"And I know for a fact your family is not going to give any information to that fool. So it must be Emmy" Mya added.
"She is my bestfriend and friend from childhood she wouldn't do that," I reassured them but deep down I may not be as sure.
"People change Liam" Ethan spoke from the other side of the table.
"You don't get to talk right now, especially to me." I rolled my eyes and responded to him harshly. He got up and left immediately after.
"Can you stop being so hard on him? It's really hurting him Liam" Nathan pleaded with me.
"I will think about it."
"What are you going to do now?" Aaron asked with Kasper in his lap.
"I will ask her directly when she comes to my track meet later on and hopefully it's not true," I explained to them all.
It was the day of my first track meet and I was excited. Thursday came quickly. I thought it was going to take a while to come with all these end-of-semester exams going on.
"Everyone's coming to the meet this evening right?" I asked looking at all of them. They all nodded yes.
"I'm coming for sure I have to see my baby whoop your ass" Aaron smiled kissing Kasper.
"Slow your roll buddy. Liam is the fastest 400m runner at this school" Dethan insured Aaron with a smirk.
"Exactly tell 'em babe" I spoke giving him a high five over Nathan's head.
They both went back and forth with each other until the bell rang for our next class. Levi, Kasper, Tanya & I said goodbye to the others and began our way to Maths class.
"You both know I don't need adult supervision to walk me to class. The others are literally right here with me." I told 2/3 of my annoying mates.
"The way things in Greece went; it would be best if we do walk you to class." Dethan acknowledged.
"Plus we miss you..." Nathan expressed with a pout.
"Yeah yeah let's go"
We continued on our path to class. They told us about how wonderful Greece is until we got to class.
"Don't forget what I said" Nathan declared as he kissed my forehead and hugged me.
"As I said before I will think about it" I uttered to him as I hugged Dethan goodbye and a kiss.
"See you later," Dethan said as they both strolled away.
I walked into class and took my seat next to #him. I glance at him and saw this unreadable look on his face. Maybe Nathan was right for once; maybe I was being too hard on him. The last few days were rough on all of them and I was making it harder.

I grabbed his hand and intertwined our fingers. He glimpsed over at me with a surprised look on his face.
"You're still not in my good books though" I assured him as soon as the grin appeared on his face.
Mr. Johnson decided he was going to give us our test tomorrow since Ethan is back. So revision was all we did today.
The rest of the day continued the same way with one of my bodyguards carrying me to each of my remaining classes and doing nothing in those classes since the semester is particularly over.
Now the school day is over and it's time to head to the track meet. I went to the locker to change into our school's sporting uniform with the team. When we were finished all of us headed to the bus that was carrying us to the meet. I sat next to Kasper as Coach began to give us a little pep talk before we hit the road. When he was over I put in my earphones and listened to my playlist to Free my Mind.
We finally arrived at the arena and saw all the schools that were participating in the meets.
"Okay listen up. We're going to head to the registration booth and everyone will sign up for their respective event. After that Liam, Kasper, Fiona & Xiara you guys can go over to the warm-up area since the 400m events are first and the others just follow me." Coach James informed us.
After we all signed up we did what Coach said. They told us we will be informed 15 mins before the race begins. We all strolled over to the warm-up area to get started. We stretched and did some jogging to get our muscles ready.
"Every person partaking in the Men's 400M please report back to the registration booth." The lady over the speakers announced.
I and Kasper picked up our gym bags and walked over there. We were given our lane assignments and which heat we will be in. I was in heat 1 in lane 4 while Kasper was in heat 4 in lane 5. They explained to us that the people who finish 1st and 2nd in their heat will head to the final.
Everyone in Heat 1 was escorted out to the track as the arena cheered on to finally see the first race of the day. I looked around for family & friends and spotted them in the stands right before the finishing line. I smiled and waved at them.
I was nervous as hell as I set my blocks because this is my first race in a long while. But after a few moments, I pulled myself together and was ready to do my best. The man on the mic as the spectators to be quiet because the official is about to start the race.
"On your mark...set...GO" The official shouted.
I blasted out of my blocks. I kept my composer as I pass the first guy in front of me by the 300m line. I continued my run at a steady pace as I came down the backstretch catching up to the next guy. I was now at the 200m line so I picked up my speed a little bit more and closed the gap between me and the other guys in front of me. By the time I got to the 100m mark, I was ahead of the guys who started the race in front of me. I continued my way to the finishing line but before I could cross it the guy in lane 3 nipped me at the line to come first. I was surprised because I thought I had it in the bag but I guess not at least I made it to the finals. I congratulated the others on a good race and made my way over to my gym bag for my water.

I went over to the warm-down area and did some stretching before I headed over to the rest of the team. Athletes weren't allowed to go into the stands while the meets are going. It's a foolish rule to me but hey.
I sat in the room eating the fruits I brought as we watched the rest of the races be held. All of us who did the 400m got into the finals and now it's time for the 200m. This is basically how it went until it was time for our events.
The crowd was cheering loudly as the commentary announced us. Kasper was called up to take his place in Lane 6.
"And in lane 3 hailing from Pink Moon High... Liam Scott" He said as I walked out on the track and strike a pose. I did a little jog as he called the other's names out. I set up my blocks and was ready for the race ahead.
The arena got silent as the race was about to begin. We took our mark and got set. I need to get a good start to take this.
"GO"
I bolted out of the blocks. I kept my pace and ran a steady race up until the 200m mark. I had already passed at least 2 guys and began to speed up a little coming around the curve. Although some other guys were ahead of me I had the advantage since I was in the inner lane. For the last 100m, I put my all into the race to finish strong. At the 50m mark I saw the guy from the heat I was in start to pull some ways ahead of me but I couldn't let him beat me again. So I pushed myself harder and both of us were neck and neck as we got to the finishing line. I did a dip at the line and hopefully, that was enough.
The race was now finished and we were waiting on the results since it was a tight race. All eyes were on the big screen at this point.
I opened my eyes wide at the result on the screen. I WON I WON. I did a victory dance as everyone cheered me on and my family & friends were the loudest. After the year I have been through I needed this.
The guy who's name was Joe came second and Kasper came in at 3rd. We shake each other's hands and they congratulated me on the win.
Kasper and I went to the warm-down area to do our stretches together. After we were finished we headed to the lobby to look for the others. When they all saw us everyone rushed over to us. Congratulated us and gave each of us hugs.
"I told you no one can beat my Liam. Congrats babe." Dethan vocalized to Aaron who was too busy spinning Kasper around. He pulled me into a hug and kissed me.
"You run fast I'm surprised," Mya said as the others laughed.
"Get your girl Dwayne before I do" I responded rolling my eyes.
"Congratulations bestie" Emmy uttered as she came up to me and hug me.
"Thanks, Emmy. Can we talk?" I asked pulling her away from the others.
"What is it, Liam?" She questioned.
"Did you tell anyone where I moved to?" I looked at her as a surprised look came upon her face she quickly hid it away.
"No why would I do such a thing. Is something wrong?" She tried to look concerned.
"Yes, for some reason Alex knows I'm living in the Pink Moon pack. No one from back home knows we're here except you."
"Are you accusing me, Liam? After all, I have done for you and all the times I have been there for you." Was she trying to guilt trip me right now?
"You still haven't denied it. A part of me with it wasn't true but that part is slipping away. Why would you do this to me?" I asked as tears were setting in my eyes.
"Because he's my mate alright. Are you happy now that you found out the truth?"
"Get out of my face before you make me do something terrible to you," I muttered as a spark a flame in the palm of my hand.
"Fine I was just leaving anyway" She replied as she walked away. When she was out of sight I fell to my knees as the tears roll down my face. My bestfriend betrayed me.
"Liam are you okay? What happened?" Ethan asked walking up to me. He picked me up and placed me on my feet.
"I just want to go home" I sobbed as I wrapped my arms around and buried my face into his chest.
I finally pulled myself together and we strolled over to the others. As we were walking I felt this tremendous pull.
"How could we've missed this Sky?"
"With all of your nerves and excited today it must've messed it up" He responded.
Right there in the arena's trophy cabinet was the Moonstone.
"Finally we've found the three vessels"
