My date turns around and looks expectantly at me.

"Are you coming?"

No, I shake my head. "You go have fun."

"Not without you", he says, taking a step forward.

I push him back and press the close button.

His confused and startled expression reaches me as the doors shut.

"I'm going exploring", I shout through the slim space before the metal pieces close.
