leaping

but in a silence heavy

as a rain cloud

A cool, blue light dances

across the squares of paper

windows

My eyes adjust to the shadows

that have begun to lengthen

along the doors

to the side

Light glistens off of the curves

of the polished wood

curling white shadows

against the deep wood

thump

It echoes
