Ethan woke up in sweats, tears streaming down his face. He looked at his clock, which he could barely see though his tears.
"Eight twenty-seven?" Ethan wondered to himself. He wiped the tears from his eyes. "Damn, three twenty-seven." He lay back down and looked at the ceiling. "What do I do?" Ethan thought to himself. He got out of bed, threw on some clothes and left the house to take a walk.
By the time he returned, it was already four eleven. Ethan went up to his room and sat down to edit his videos. He was finishing the first one when he heard a knock on his door.
"Hey, any dreams?" Mark asked.
"Oh, umm- yeah actually. I saw Dark, but he said he had seen how much you were hurting and wanted to change," he answered. Ethan didn't know if that was the right thing to say.
"Really? I am not sure I trust him."
"Oh. Well, he looked sincere. I don't know."
"Okay. We can talk about it during breakfast."
"What time is it?" Ethan asked confused.
"Eight forty something."
"Really? Fuck!"
"Hey, what is wrong?" Mark walked over and rubbed his shoulders. He could tell Ethan was stressed.
"Nothing, just apparently, I have been working on editing the same video for four and a half hours!"
"Listen, why don't you save and we can go eat breakfast. Then we can come back and I can help you."
"Okay." Ethan saved and walked down stairs with Mark. Sean was already cooking breakfast for them.
Ethan sat at the table and put his head in his hands.
"Are you okay Ethan? What happened last night?" Sean asked.
"Yeah. I just have a headache. I am going to go to the restroom." Ethan said, walking off.

"Did he tell you what happened?" Sean asked Mark.
"He said Dark saw how much pain I was in from my mom and wanted to change. I am not sure I believe Ethan though."
"What do you want to do?"
"I think we should just leave it for now. He said he had been editing the same video for four hours, which means he has been up since at least four in the morning! He is distressed, but I don't know what is going on."
Blank and Anti popped up next to Mark.
"I might know part of the reason," Blank said.
"What?" Sean asked curiously, putting the eggs he had cooked on a plate.
"This is the middle of the anniversary of the first time everything happened. You didn't have it as bad or go through it as long." Blank said to Sean. "Ethan has been having a lot of flashbacks from everything, and I am sure Dark coming back is making it worse."
Mark and Sean looked at each other.
"It is taking Ethan a really long time to get back from the bathroom." Mark commented. "I'm going to go check on him."
Mark walked over to the bathroom and knocked on the door. He didn't hear a reply. "Ethan? Are you okay?" He yelled through the door. All Mark heard was sobbing. "Ethan!" Mark tried to open it, but the door was locked. "Ethan, please let me know you are okay!"
The door unlocked and opened and Ethan fell into Mark's arms. His eyes were red and he had tears running down his face.

The Mentor
This one is for my daughter. She talked me into it (again) and it is her favorite genre of books. So, Bet, this one is for you. The true-bloods, the masters, they came first. That was hammered into Heath's head since he could walk with both words and fists by Karen. As a guardian and half-blood bastard of his vampire father, he would never know peace. His duty as a dhampir, his duty was clear, his fate sealed. Heath was to serve Gerald, an aging Vampire Lord, one who was of pure blood, born to the race, until Heath outlived his prime and then he would pass on the knowledge that was passed to him onto a new bastard to carry protecting the bloodline. But was it necessarily his fate? Could a sterile half breed such as himself, someone who did not exist in the human world, live anywhere in the world on the light? After a particularly nasty encounter with his Mentor, Heath is on the run. Set on not becoming the new guardian and knowing that decision has now marked him for death. The hunt is on and somewhere behind him is Joshua, the heir of his Master, and the thing that plagues his nightmare, his Mentor Karen.
