Chapter 49
I let out a defeated sigh, holding back the tears that threatened to escape as Adam disappeared from my sight along with the other pack warriors. I felt something in me break, but I told myself to be strong. It wasn't like he was going forever. However, something in me feared that something would happen to him. I was scared that in some way, I would lose my best friend.
I shook my head and forced these pathetic thoughts out of my head. I know Adam. He's a strong man. And he can overcome anything. I slowly brought my attention over to Mason to make eye contact with him. I bit my lip even harder as I stared into his eyes. His face was hard and emotionless, but his eyes spoke something else.
His eyes had a hint of sadness and guilt. Like he knew that sending Adam away hurt me. I looked down to the ground and broke the eye contact. I didn't know if I was angry at him. I thought about it and sighed. I would have been angry if Adam didn't want to leave, and Mason forced him. But Adam did no such thing. He accepted and went without a second thought. Somewhere in me, I knew he wanted to go. He always wanted to be a pack warrior and fight for a pack, he wanted to be a hero, ever since he was small.
And because of that, I wasn't really mad at Mason. I knew Mason was just angry at Adam's actions and didn't want him anywhere near me. Besides, they were never really fond of each other. In some way, he wanted to protect me from him, even though Adam wouldn't ever do that again. I guess I should be grateful that Mason didn't try to harm him, or worse, kill him. I wasn't mad at him. I was just slightly disappointed, disappointed because he didn't consider my feelings. I was upset. But not angry.
I let out a troubled sigh and looked up at Mason again. He wasn't looking at me, but at the ground. His fist was clenched in a tight grip and he looked angry as he shot dangerous daggers at the ground. He raised his head and made eye contact with me. I could've sworn I saw something in his eyes telling me that he was sorry. I closed my eyes and let out a shaky breath.
Once I opened them, Mason spoke. "Our guests have arrived. I would like to welcome our new pack members who will serve this pack until everything is back to normal. Will all of you please come up here?"
In an instant, many werewolves came into sight. They walked towards the crowd with confidence, their heads up in the air. They were mostly male, but I saw a couple of females. They looked normal, even though some were buff and tall. As soon as they were in front of the large crowd, Mason spoke.
"Welcome to our pack. From now on we will consider you all as members of our pack and we thank you for coming here to serve us. I hope there won't be any trouble, as I hope my warriors I have sent off won't make any trouble. Both our packs would like to stay on good terms so I hope we get along for the benefit of both packs."

We all, including the pack warriors, nodded our heads. Mason nodded his head in approval and stepped forwards.
"Good, now someone will show you all around the pack and then show you to your rooms. We will start with the procedures tomorrow morning by patrolling the pack and other important things. Your Alpha and I will be in contact to strengthen our packs and see if we need to do anything else." He spoke and everyone nodded their heads. "Ok. You are all excused."
And with that, everyone left back to the packhouse. There were lots of whispers about the new members. I glanced at them and noticed that they weren't that much. Lots of people were talking about the new pack members and if they were going to get along or not. I glanced at them one more time to see Mason talking to them. They nodded their heads respectively and I sighed out.
I didn't know if this was going to be bad or not. I'm sure Mason knows what he's doing. Besides, we can't judge them without knowing them. We all were doing this for the safety of both packs. I turned around and looked at Lina. She gave me a sad smile and placed her hand on my shoulder.
"I'm sorry for what Mason did, but please don't be mad at him, you guys barely started getting along. I don't want my ship to sink," she begged, saying the last part with a pout. I smiled up at her and shook my head.
"I'm not mad..." I whispered. "I'm just..upset. I just need some time to get over it." Lina offered me another sad smile and nodded her head.
"Ok, that's a relief. I mean, I don't need you guys to start hating each other after you guys started opening up." She smiled at me. I nodded my head but remained silent. She patted my shoulder and moved her head to the side. "Come on, let's go."
I nodded my head once again and we started walking. I looked over my shoulders and glanced at Mason to see him staring at me. I gave him a soft smile before looking away and walking towards the packhouse.

I poured myself a glass of water and drank it. Once I was done, I placed the cup on the counter and started making my way out of the kitchen doors. I ignored the people who were exiting and entering. Even though I've been in this pack for about three months, I still had people stare at me. Especially after those rumors that spread around about Mason and I. But those rumors calmed down and I haven't heard of them again, but that didn't stop the stares and glances.
I walked out of the kitchen and down the hall. As I was walking towards my room, I saw someone that I haven't seen in awhile walk towards me. I groaned and prayed that he would ignore me and walk past me, but of course, my prayers were not heard.
"Hey. Long time no see," Kyle greeted with a smirk on his face. I rolled my eyes at him and completely ignored him, not wanting to deal with him right now. I walked past him, making him grab my wrist in a tight grip. I snapped my head over at him and narrowed my eyes. "You know it's rude to walk away when someone's talking to you?"

I growled lowly at him and pulled my hand away from his tight grip.
"F*ck off, Kyle. I don't want to deal with you right now," I growled. His lip twitched and he stepped closer to me, making me take a step back. My frown deepened as his smirk grew.
"That's not very nice. I just wanted to ask you an innocent question, that's all." His face plastered an innocent, harmless expression but I knew, behind that was a wicked smirk.
"I don't want to answer any questions of yours. So leave me alone," I hissed and started walking away. But unfortunately, Kyle stepped in front of me, stopping me dead in my track.
"All these times, I wondered why the Alpha would stand up to you and be your little hero. But I guess I know why," Kyle started, a smirk on his face. He stepped closer to me, making my frown deepened severally. "All those rumors were true, weren't they? You're sleeping with the Alpha. Is it because of the Luna status?"
My eyes widened and a low growl emerged from within my chest. I glared at him and clenched my fist, wanting so bad to punch him. This was getting out of hand. I had to do something about it. Before I could raise my fist and collide it with his chin, he was on the floor. It was already done by somebody else.
Kyle fell down to the floor with a thud and winced in pain. He gripped his chin and stared up at us with wide eyes. I looked at a very angry Mason who was about to throw another punch. He stepped closer to Kyle but I gripped his arm, preventing him from killing the guy.
Mason looked down at me, his angry eyes softening a bit before glaring back at Kyle.
"F*cker. I told you not to get near her. You defied my orders. Do you really want to spend another two weeks in the dungeons?" Mason growled angrily. Kyle stood up on his feet and fear was present in his eyes. He shook his head immediately and before I could stop, Mason took another step and punched him in the jaw. Kyle fell back to the floor and I winced at the sight.
"She's my mate. She doesn't need to sleep with me to get the Luna title because she already has the Luna title," Mason growled out, making him and my eyes widen.
Did he just say..
I felt my heart flip at his words and couldn't help the happiness that overcame me. Kyle's eyes were so wide that I thought his eyeballs would fall out of his socket any minute now. He hesitantly got off the ground and stared at me with shock. I looked over at Mason to see him burning with anger. His chest rose and fell as he controlled his breath.
"You're our Luna?" Kyle asked, shocked. I bit my lip and didn't know what to say. Immediately, Mason's arm was wrapped around my waist as he pulled me closer to him.
"Yes, she is. And if I see you around her another time then I'll make sure to do more damage than I already did," Mason threatened with a growl. Kyle's eyes widened and he nodded his head, looking at me with guilt. He turned around and speed-walked out of our sight before Mason could do anything else.
I slowly looked up at him, biting my lip even harder. What he told Kyle made me feel weird. When I first came here I didn't want to be a Luna, but him acknowledging the fact that I'm his mate and Luna made me happy. He looked down at me and his angry eyes softened completely. His grip on my waist tightened and he pulled me to his chest, hugging me.
He inhaled my scent and let out a deep breath. Once he was calm he pulled away.
"Are you ok?" He asked. I nodded my head at him.
"I'm fine."
He ran a hand through his hair and let out a frustrated sigh. "You're mad, aren't you?" Mason asked out of nowhere, looking down at me with guilt and anger. "You're angry because I sent your friend away, right? I know you're mad, so stop acting like you're not." He growled and pulled on his hair. I opened my mouth to say something but was cut off by his blabbering. "Dammit, Tiana. Just say you're mad at me!"
I let out a sigh and shook my head. "Mason, I'm not mad. I'm just..."
"Just what?" He asked eagerly.
"Upset," I whispered, looking down at my hand. He grabbed my chin in a soft grip and slowly pulled it up, so I was looking into his beautiful eyes.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I just...my jealousy took over and...I..I..ugh dammit!" My eyes widened and he ran a hand through his hair as he averted his eyes away from mine. "Sorry." He whispered again. I bit my lip and nodded my head.
"I'm going to miss him. But in some way, he wanted this, so I'm going to respect his decision." Mason nodded his as I continued. "And I'm not mad at you, just a little upset but I'll get over it." Mason closed his eyes and he dug his nose in the crook of my neck and inhaled my scent.
"I don't want you to hate me," he whispered, his voice so soft. My heart flipped at his words and I pulled away, looking up at him.
"Mason, I could never hate you," I told him. His eyes lit up and his arms around my waist tightened.
"Good," he growled and placed a soft kiss on my lips.
