《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Ten

I was being spoon-fed by Mom while the nurse was observing in the corner. It was just a few hours after the devil told me I was his, before he disappeared, again. I don't know why he even said that, since I don't really care what he says. I just want him to leave the house.
What is really wrong with that guy, now ghost or demon? Did something really tragic happen to him when he died that made him, what he is now?
As I have heard, ghosts that doesn't pass on to the next life are troubled or that they still have unfinished business here on earth. But why him? Why can he touch and even talk to me? Hurt me? I even wonder, is it him? Or is it me?
"Mom."
"Hmm? What is it honey?" She asked. Dreaded to question her about it, I took deep breath.
"Where is Ruby?" Her face immediately paled and with that small action, she answered my question. At first, I felt nothing, like I was numb and that the world didn't exist. The world seemed to go in slow motion, until it hit me.
My best friend is dead.
And the worst part of it all, it's because of me.
That was when I broke down, tears streaming down my face, making my sight a blur. Before I knew it, the porridge my mom made hit the floor. The wires connected to my arm were almost pulled off my skin.
I was screaming at the top of my voice. I didn't even know what kind of words I was screaming. My mom was already crying while the nurse was calling for more nurses to assist the hysterical girl crying on the bed. Crying over the death of her best friend.

"It's my fault! I shouldn't have dragged her into this mess! She would still be alive right now! She wouldn't have died!" I yelled and more nurses barged in. I noticed one nurse was holding a needle and a bottle.
They were going to put me to sleep and I don't even want to. But what can I do? I'm just a patient, who they might think has gone mentally ill. I blame it all to him. Making me go insane. It's only been a couple of days and yet something like this happens.
"Baby...." My mom cried while a few nurses grabbed my arm. I was lashing around in guilt.
"It's my fault Mom! Ruby shouldn't have died, it should be me!" I screamed. I then felt the needle pushing through my skin making me cry out in pain.
"Don't say things like that Lucinda!" My mom scolded, trying not to sob. I don't even deserve her pity. Or even anyone's pity. I just deserve death, that I would gladly accept for my best friend. If only I could turn back time, I would gladly do it and die rather than Ruby.
The world seem to go slower when the medicine took over me. My mom's voice becoming an echo and the light's growing dimmer and dimmer. And before I knew it, I slipped into a world of darkness and fell into a dreamless sleep.
I felt something cold running down my cheek and an icy breeze on the nape of my neck. "Lucinda... wake up. Or do you want me to wake you up on my own?" My eyes slowly opened and my brown eyes met the same black ones.
I let out a gasp and sat up, held my arm and looked at the small bandages. I let out a small whimper when I remembered what happen awhile ago.

"Care to explain what happen?" He suddenly asks and my eyes met his. My anger slowly rising up and he cocks his head to the side in a mocking way. "What's wrong Lucinda?" He questions and before I knew it I was aiming my fist towards his face.
"You! How dare you show your face to me!?" I screamed and missed his face. He dodged my in coming fury and he grabs both of my hands. His eyes blazed with anger.
"Don't. And I mean don't try to punch me, Lucinda." He growls and I just looked into his dark eyes. They might have held some secrets and hatred behind them.
"Don't try to telling me what to do because I don't even know you." I spat, making his nose flare. I just smirked at his actions. "And I am not even yours to tell me what I should and shouldn't do."

Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal

"Go on Lou, just give it a go." ; in other words, Louis' older sister Jade dared him to put on make up and Louis ends up loving it._Larry Stylinson_•I do just wanna day that this book isn't short. When I say that I mean the chapters are long and things don't happen straight away. When writing this book, I wanted to develop the characters before jumping straight in to relationships and drama. I tried to make it as realistic as I could (I was young when I started this book). Just please give it a chance as I'm really proud of this book and really enjoy writing it!!

There is definitely some mistakes in it, but I will keep it as it as. This book is over two years old but was finished about a year ago. Beware, there's definitely a bit of mistakes and editing errors that I never caught.
