"Mackenzie," Mrs. Johnson spoke, looking at me through her thick glasses. "This is just very basic, I know you can answer this." She gave me a curt smile.

"What do you mean by Globalization?" She asks, pointing to the bold 'Globalization' on the board. I nervously stood up, as Mrs. Johnson, my History teacher, waited patiently for me to answer her question.

I cleared my throat before speaking, "Globalization," I began, "Is the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture. "

"Good, you may sit down." She mumbled before continuing. Once I sat down, Grace smiled, before giving me two thumbs up. I smiled shyly.

The class continued on quite peacefully, since Matt, or any of his friends were present. I guess it's because of this girl named Candice, I guess I should thank her later. Grace was right beside me, twirling her pen. "Grace," I whispered, making her turn slightly to face me. "What is it Lucy?" She questions, it was clear she was bored and wanted to talk to someone.

"Do you know who is Candice?"

"She's the girlfriend of Matt," She answered, before raising an eyebrow, "Why do you ask anyways?" I blushed, knowing what she thought about it; but before I could even answer I heard someone cleared their throat. It was Mrs. Johnson.

"Well? Do you want to share your conversation with us?" She looked at us as she question us stiffly, angry that we didn't paid attention to her class. I looked down in embarrassment, feeling my cheeks heat up.

"We're sorry Mrs. Johnson," Grace apologize sheepishly, "It won't happen again, I swear." I slightly looked up to see her sigh, her gaze softening a bit. "Very well," She breathes, before adjusting her glasses. "Next time I see you talking, and not paying attention, detention will be the punishment. Understood?"

"Yes Ma'am." Grace and I answered in unison. She nodded, "Okay, let's continue, shall we?"

The class ended without interuptions, which made Mrs. Johnson happy. "Until next time," She smiled. I exhaled once we were out of the room, fresh air hitting my face. Grace groaned, rubbing her temple, "Seriously, History gives me a headache." I grimaced, "Why's that?"

"I don't know, I think I'm allergic with it."

We both giggled as we approached our lockers, lunch was next. A few more classes, and the first day of class would be over. "Lyric would be having lunch with us, she'll meet us at the table we sat awhile ago." Grace spoke, looking at her phone.

We entered the busy cafeteria, and went to get lunch first. "What would you like?" The old lady asked. There were only two dishes, macaroni and chicken. "Um, macaroni?" I knew I sounded unsure, but the lady didn't seem to notice as she placed the macaroni in a bowl and hand it over to me. "Next." She said in a bored tone.

I grab a box of grape juice and look to my right, surprised to see Grace frowning at the bowl with macaroni in it. "No, I said I want chicken, not macaroni. Can't you get it right for me?" She asked with a hint of annoyance.

"Sorry," The lady apologized, and gave her the right dish this time. This made Grace sigh in relief, "Thank you." She breathes, grabbing a can of coke, before we went to the table where Lyric was waiting.

"So sorry we're late," Grace spoke, "We had a little problem with the cafeteria lady that's all." Lyric just smiled, "It's okay Grace, I got my lunch already."

We started eating our lunch, Grace made a few jokes which were very funny and entertaining, that's when the door to the cafeteria burst open with a loud sound. All eyes were on the person, whose face I can't see clearly.

"Great, dickhead has arrive after his short disappearance." Grace snorted, and continued eating. I knew who she was referring to. "Get out of our seats!" Matt yelled loudly at a small group of boys. They scurried away as Matt and his friends occupy their table, smirks on their faces.

"What a jerk." I uttered softly, but Grace and Lyric heard it, making them part their lips in shock. I raised an eyebrow in confusion, "What?" I questioned. They started to giggle, "What? What is it?" I can't help but giggle too.

"Nothing," Lyric shook here head, a smile on her face. I shrugged and continued our lunch. "Well, what's your last class?" Lyric asks.

"Arts," Grace answered, "What about yours?"

"It's History," She shrugged, "I guess it's better than Math. How was Mrs. Johnson?" Grace rolled her eyes at the mention of her name, "She almost send me, and Lucy here into detention."

This sparked Lyric's interest, since she started asking questions right away. "Why? What did you both do that made her angry? Did she yell and embarrass you in front of everyone?" She rambled loudly, her eyes sparkled in curiosity.

"Slow down Lyric," I told her, hoping to calm the girl, and wishing it didn't caught so much attention. I didn't know this side of Lyric yet, which is quite surprising to me, but it didn't seem unusual for Grace.

"Well, I was bored and wanted to talk to Lucy. And Mrs. Johnson thought it was a mortal sin to talk, so she scolded us. And no, she didn't yell but she did embarrassed us." Grace spoke cooly, as if it was nothing. To be honest, I was quite scared of that woman, she reminded me of one of my teachers back when I was a Sophomore, who had the hobby of yelling at students.

"Really? Hm, I guess she finally went to one of those therapy that Mr. Parkes recommended to her."

"Who's Mr. Parkes?" I questioned. "He's the janitor here, a very quiet fellow. He's very serious of his job, but Lyric here thinks he likes Mrs. Johnson." Grace mumbled.

I can't help but remember the closet I encountered awhile ago. There was something unusual about it.

Stop Lucinda! Don't ruin this day with those supernatural things around here. Try and be normal for once in your life!

"But, isn't Mrs. Johnson married?" I frowned, erasing the thought of the closet. "See? I told you Lyric, why the hell would Mr. Parkes like a woman who is already married? I mean, it's not like she's that pretty." Grace argued.

"He is into her! I tell you." Lyric defended, "It was clear in his eyes everytime he sees her, didn't you see it?"

Grace snorted at Lyric's idea, "Ha, here you go again with those crazy ideas of yours. Honestly, I think it's time for you to stop watching romantic movies and turn to action and violence!"

Lyric grimace, "No, why should I? Besides I can't stand seeing blood, remember I have a fear of it." Grace waved her hand, dismissing her, "Yeah, I know, I know. You don't have to tell me."

Lunch ended soon and we have to get back to our classes. "See you two!" Lyric wave as we hurried to catch our class. The day went on, Matt never said a word, or any of his friends. Which, I noticed. It must be his girlfriend, Candice.

Mr. Young, our Arts teacher asked us to dras the thing that makes us happy. "I want you all to draw the thing that brightens up your day, that puts a smile on your face." Mr. Young smiled, "Go on! Don't be shy!"

I grab my pencil and started to draw my old home. It was the only safest place I know. I was half way through my drawing when someone called me.

"Psst! Mackenzie!"

I turned around and gasped to see Matt. It wasn't him that made me gasp, but it was his drawing. It was a drawing of me, well a poor drawing of me, sucking what seems to be- Oh my!

Matt was snickering while my jaw dropped in utter shock. He flipped the drawing pad over to another picture of me, this time it was a stick drawing of me hanged on a tree. And it looked like birds were eating my brains.

"Like what you see?" He asks in a smug tone. I looked away once I felt tears rolling down my cheeks, I can hear him laugh maniacly.

When the bell rang, I ran out of the class and to my locker. I hurriedly grab my things and ran out of the building. The cold, fresh air hit my face, making my hair fly.

"Lucy! Wait!" I heard Grace yell, making me stop on my tracks. "What happened? Are you okay?" She panted, Lyric right behind her heels.

"Sorry, Uhm, nothing. I'm just fine." I muttered, running my fingers through my hair, hoping to comfort myself from the disturbing drawings Matt drew.

"Are you sure?" Lyric asked, but before I could answer I heard the familiar honking of a car. I turn around to see a blurry face of my dad, "Lucinda!" He yelled.

I looked back at Lyric and Grace who had confused looks. "It's my dad," I spoke sheepishly, "Anyways, I have to go or I'll be late for my check up."

"Okay then, see you tomorrow Lucy!" Grace smiled, patting my shoulder. Lyric hugged me, "See you Lucy." She winked, "It was nice meeting you." I giggled before walking away.

I opened the car door and greeted dad. "Hey Lucy, how's you're first day?" He questions. I smiled slightly, "It was...good." He raised an eyebrow in awe, "Really? Glad to hear that. I see you made a few friends." I knew he meant Lyric and Grace, to which I nodded happily. "Yup!"

I looked outside the window the car started to drive away. I gasp once I saw Matt and his friends at the curb, Matt showed me the finger while some of his friends pretended to hang themselves. This made me sink lower on my seat and close my eyes in disgust and disbelief.
