《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Seventy-three

Groaning softly, I open my eyes and looked around to see an unfamiliar place. Where am I? The room is dimly lit, the smell of burnt wood in the air and I grimaced once I saw roaches at the corner of the room. I frowned seeing my hands tied together by a rope, and so as my feet. Struggling to get the tie undone, I hissed when it rubbed my wrist harshly.
"Hello Lucinda," I look up to be met by air. I sat up straight and pressed my back against the wall, "W-who's there?" I asked aloud, even I already know who that voice belongs to. Grace came out of the dark, a small smirk on her face, playing with a thin white object in her hands. "It's just me Lucy, you don't have to worry."
I threw a glare at her way, "Obviously, I have to." Chuckling lowly, she made her way towards me slowly, as if enjoying that she made me nervous and intimidated. "Comfortable?"
"Hardly."
Grace cocked her head to the side, "Why? Don't like the way I tied the ropes? Is it too loose? I'll tighten it if you want." I refused to answer, pissed off at her words, the urge to strangle the girl intense. Lowering my gaze, I stared at the floor, not wanting to seem look weak just by staring at her with my teary eyes. "Why are you doing this Grace? What are you up to?" Hearing the floorboards squeak, I stare at Grace's shoes.
"Well, it's simple really. I knew I had no chance in hiding from Styles, but I had to do something. I just can't let myself die you know, that would be pretty stupid, like you." I narrowed my eyes at her, this only made her laugh. "That's when you came into the picture, being that oblivious girl who's stupid enough to think that she'll get out of this town alive." That's when something landed in front of me, I gasp at Grace's harsh grip on my hair, forcing me to stare at the object. "And look what happened!"
My eyes went wide, it doesn't need to take a rocket scientist to figure out what it was. It's a pregnancy test, but it isn't the stick which made me go pale. It was the two lines that appeared, saying positive.
I'm pregnant?
I couldn't help but laugh aloud, laugh aloud because it was complete bullshit. "What's so funny?" Grace questioned, anger lacing every word. It was a pretty funny sight, seeing I don't laugh usually at the face of danger or death. I think I understand her sudden anger, but I don't blame her. My sanity has left this planet long ago.
"Harry made you pregnant?" I joked but Grace wouldn't have any of it if the way she slapped me afterwards is any proof of it. I merely leaned my head against the way, watching her glare at me in disgust. "If you weren't important to me, I would've killed you now. But no, that would just ruin my plans."
I'm pregnant, and the father is Harry? She's joking right? Grace must have read my mind because she sneered, "I knew he had a thing for you, cause if he didn't he would've killed you. But I didn't realize it was that deep." Leaning close to me, I cringed at her, which only made her smile. "Don't worry too much Lucinda, cause this will be over the moment Harry dies. And you can leave this town afterwards, that is, if you help me."

"And why should I do that?" I spat out, helping this bitch would only aggravate me further. Not only did she tell me that I am pregnant, which is impossible, but now she wants me to help her? Is she insane, because there is no way I am doing it.
"You don't believe that you're pregnant, do you?" She asked, backing away and sat down on the floor, playing with her hair. "Even myself, I couldn't believe it. When Alex told me you were, I had to double check whether he was lying or not. So tell me Lucinda, is Harry good in bed?"
I merely ignored her. So all those vomiting and pain makes sense now. I am pregnant. The idea of a demon growing inside me is unbelievable and laughable. But, it's the truth. Flashbacks of Harry and I, alone in the bedroom, came playing before my eyes. Snapping of my short stupor, I look up, realizing that Grace wanted an answer. I smirked, much to her surprise, "Very."
Grace was about to retaliate when a door at the left corner burst open. In came Alex, the doctor who I thought was a good person. Sadly, I was mistaken. His eyes scanned the room for a brief moment before walking towards us. "We better act quick Grace, Styles is coming here."
"I figured." Grace replied, giving me a glance. "Let's get to work." I followed their movements, Alex running outside of this room as Grace walk towards a table, examining something. "Last chance Lucinda, help me or this will get ugly."
I frowned, solid on the fact that this woman, is insane. "No, I thought you are loyal to Harry. Why are you doing this?" Grace laughed aloud, turning to face me. I paled at the sight of a gun in her hands, fingers touching the trigger slightly. "You're so idiotic that it's so funny, Lucinda! Has it dawned on you that I am the last one?"
Jaw dropping, I stared at her in something akin to shock and frustration. All this time, she's the girl named 'Rachel' he's been looking for. So all Harry's hardworking finding the last one, is all left in the dust because this woman is sabotaging it behind the scenes! The little sneaky bitch.
"Oh, and it is I who killed your friend's mother. It was never Harry." Grace laughed, clicking the safely off her gun. "You can only imagine what I'm going to do to your parents after this."
"You bitch!" I screeched, wanting to claw her eyes out. So this is her game, wanting to ruin my life and everyone that ever cared for me. "I'll kill you before you do any harm to my parents." Blood boiling in unfit rage, I began to thrash around, escaping would be my top priority before killing this psychopathic woman. Harry has been blind the whole time, not realizing the last one is just right in front of him.
"Harry deserves to die Lucinda, he killed my parents and my other relatives. Now, I'm just returning the favor, starting with you!" I gasp as she aimed the gun at me, murderous eyes focused at my head. Something silver caught my eyes and it was a knife just laying down on the floor, a few feet away from me. If I could only reach it...

"Grace!" Alex shouted, diverting her attention from me. "Whatever you're planning, do it fast! Harry's coming!" Using her distraction as my advantage, I used my foot to bring the knife closer to me before cutting the ropes. Well, that was easy. Too easy.
Standing up, Grace's eyes widen in surprise before I tackled her down to the floor, scratching her face with my nails. "It was you all along! You bitch! You killed Ruby!" I screamed, hearing Grace crying out in pain only fueled my thirst for blood. Her blood. Rolling on the floor in a heated fight, both of us wrestled for the gun. I pulled her black hair harshly while trying to reach for her gun in her hand, which I successfully did. "Oh no you don't!" She retaliated, kicking me in the chest. I double back in pain, watching her snatch the gun.
I stood up, looking at her wearily. "That's the problem with you Lucinda, you're too stupid to even know that danger is knocking at your door! You like things easy, but life is no fairytale shit! Now you're going to die and meet your creator." I felt my breath hitch as the gun fired, waiting for the impact to hit me, to kill me. To rid me from this world of pain, hate and sorrow. But it never came.
Eyes wide in shock, Grace fell to the floor, blood sliding down her chin. What the hell? Why did she shot herself? Definitely a lunatic. But what unsettled me is the sadistic smirk she had on her lips despite her coughing off blood. "Now, Harry will ruin your life, Rachel. He will kill you before he realizes is mistake, his child will die along with you!"
What?
Grace screamed out of agony as the side of her stomach bled. Thinking fast, I began to look for another exit since the door is being guarded by the double crosser, Alex. "Zayn!" Grace screamed, clutching her wound. Seeing the window, I began kicking the wood that barricaded it. This bitch has set me up, and I'll make sure it'll back fire on her.
"Grace!" Hearing Zayn's voice only made me panic, the case of Cleithrophobia kicking in. I let out a breath of triumph when the wood gave away, making it possible for me to escape through it. Just as the door burst open, I safely jumped into the snow covered ground. Letting out a soft grunt, I began running to the woods. Looking back, I see a warehouse, the familiar cars that Harry and his men use surrounding it.
Well, no turning back now. If I do, I'll get shot, worse thing is that Grace, no, Rachel, accused me of being the last one. Harry will be furious and will haunt me down. Time to ditch everyone and leave this town. Breathing heavily, I ran faster than my legs could carry me, dodging a few trees from getting hit on the face that would only leave an ugly scar on my face.
Snow crunching against my shoes, I began the familiar search for a road. Any road that would lead me to the town. I should go back home, wait, no, I shouldn't. I'm wanted by the police if my disappearance in that mental institution didn't go unnoticed. "Stupid." I muttered under my breath when my foot almost touched a bear trap. Last thing I want is my left door to get chopped off, what a gruesome sight that would be.
As I ventured through the forest, I continued to run, not caring how far away the warehouse is. Harry is not Harry Styles for nothing. He will come for me, and I should be out of this town before he even realizes that. Grinning widely at the road that I found, letting out a satisfied laugh. Running to the direction where the cars are going, I began the long run to the town. Don't let me down now.
Stopping to take a few occasional breaks, I finally reached the nearest building in the vicinity. Sighing in relief, I lowered my head as I made my way to the cafe down the block. Looking through the glass wall, I contemplated if I should go in or not.
No, I shouldn't. They might recognize me.
Passing by, I began the familiar trek to my parent's house. Dodging a few police patrolling through the town, I manage to arrive undetected and went to the back of the house. Climbing up the fence, I looked for the ladder dad usually kept in the tool shed. Seeing it, I place it above the window of my room and climbed up the ladder.
Lifting the panel, I silently snuck inside. Whether mom and dad are home, I should be silent. I won't let what happened last time repeat again. My room is still the same since the last time I saw it, remaining untouched. Well, except for the box lying at the side. Frowning softly, I decided to take a few cash from mom and dad's room. Apparently they are not home right now, another bonus but I have to be quick.
Slipping the cash inside the pocket of my jeans, I went through my wardrobe and took another backpack of mine, filling it with blouses and jeans, along with my undergarments. I took of my shirt and put on another as well as a black jacket with a hod to hide my identity better. Removing my shoes, I wore my white Adidas and sling my backpack on my shoulder. Not missing anything valuable to me, I climbed out of the window once again.
Safely on the ground, I place the ladder on its usual spot. Climbing over the fence once again, I dashed out of sight. Once in the town again, I entered a cheap motel and rent a room. Tomorrow, I'll be out of this place.
