《Hex [h.s]》Chapter Seventy-nine

"I want you to contact every available men we have, tell them to prepare."
Niall nodded before walking away, not uttering a single word. I couldn't fight the chills as they ran up and down my spine, feeling eyes staring at me when there's no one besides Harry in the room. Grace was nowhere in sight and Zayn has been whisked away by Harry to go down the cellar to retrieve something important. The sky remained scarlet, the sun blocked by the thick red clouds. I let out a small gasp of pain, eyes shut as my hand clutch my chest, the other holding the table's edge for balance as I felt my heart palpitate. The air in my lungs slowly dying out as I rubbed my chest, grimacing.
"What's wrong? Are you alright?" Harry questioned out of concern, bending down and stared at me with those green eyes. I nod multiple times, the pain slowly easing as I continued to take deep breaths. "Y-yeah. I'm fine. It's nothing." I reassured with a small smile.
"Harry!" Both of us turn our heads to see Niall standing at the doorway, phone in his hand. "They're on their way. We better prepare." Turning back his gaze to me, Harry place his hand on my shoulder before squeezing gently. "It's best if you stay here. Don't go out. I'll have Niall guard over you."
I reached out to grab his arm before he stood up, making him look down at me once more with worry. "I'll stay here... If you promise me something." I muttered, a bit shy to know that Niall is watching us intently. Harry raised a brow, "I don't like to promise things that I couldn't keep." I cracked a smile, "I'm sure you can keep this one." Silence loomed over us except for the winds outside that continued to howl loudly. "Harry, if you stay alive, I'll make sure your homecoming would be far greater than you imagined."
Harry chuckled, caressing my cheek with his huge hand, "Don't worry, hearing your words only make me want to finish this task before dinner." Seeing him grin widely only made my smile broaden. I cleared my throat, "No. I'm serious. Please come home alive."
"Home." He breathed, "That's something I never had ever since."
I smiled. "I promise you'll come back home." Realizing the implications of my words, his eyes were suddenly flashing with emotions. Harry bent down and pressed his kiss against mine. I reached up and held his face, not willing to let go. As if we were suddenly aware that Niall is still in the room, Harry pulled away but didn't held back a smile. It made my heart flutter.
With one last wave of goodbye, Harry walked out of the room. Leaving me and my heavy heart longing for his return. Niall shut the door and sat down across me, heaving a sigh before running a hand through his blonde hair. "Can't believe that it's already happening. One day I was just sitting around a corner, wasting my life away. Now, here we are preparing for some kind of shitty war that was long overdue." I cocked my head to the side, observing his sudden sullen expression. "I thought you guys were waiting for this day to come? Why the sudden face?"
"It means, once we're human again, we have to go separate ways. It'll be over." He mumbled, fiddling with his fingers. My eyes went wide once I processed his words. "What do you mean by 'separate ways'?" I questioned hesitantly, afraid of his answer.

"Well, we made a deal that once we killed the bastard for good, we're going to kill all his accomplices and leave this damn place." Niall answered and I grabbed his hand. "Niall, what is he planning to do with my family? Is he going to dispose of them after?" My heart began to race in alarm as I remembered my Mom and Dad. Well... if they are my real parents and that Harry is lying. I groaned and clutched my head, suddenly feeling dizzy.
"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Niall query, concern evident on his face. I allowed myself to smile, not wanting to worry anybody. "I'm fine. I'll go downstairs and drink a glass of water."
"Do you want me to go with you-"
I shook my head, dismissing his suggestion. "It's alright, Niall. I'll be fine." I stood up and walked out of the room. Once out of sight, I hurriedly climbed down the stairs and, after making sure that no one's in sight, dashed for it to the cellar. I cringed when the strong aroma of blood entered my nostrils. Covering my nose with one hand, I made my way to the cellar containing the people whom I considered my parents in my life.
"Lucinda, you came back!" Dad's eyes full of tears while Mom remained silent by his side. I grabbed the keys hanging on a nail and opened the cell door. "If what Harry say is true or not, I can't just let you guys rot in here. So, I'm giving you guys a chance to leave before he comes back." Releasing them for their bounds, I gestured for them to the exit and we hurriedly escaped through the back door.
"Shit, what happened to the sky?" Dad wondered, staring at the sky with a confused expression. "This place is really something. Is this really happening or is it the effects of being trapped in a dark room for so long?"
"Follow this path," I directed, teeth chattering slightly due to the cold. "This will eventually lead you guys to a road and from there. Hail a car and leave. Don't come back."
"Lucinda, come with us." Dad pleaded with sad eyes, holding me by the shoulders. "Come with us. Let's go back to our lives, leave this place and let's start over again." I shook my head at his words, my heart aching.
"I'm sorry Dad. I can't."
"Leave her, Nigel." Mother mumbled. "It's best if she stays here with that lunatic. Come on Nigel." Without another word, she pulled her husband with her and they walked away in the snow. I watched them with teary eyes, knowing that this will be the last time I'll get to see them again. I held out a hand, catching a snow flake that descended from the sky before looking up at the dark red clouds.
"Well. Look what we have here!" I sucked in a breath and whirl around to see Grace smirking at me. Two unknown men stood behind her, all sporting a scary glare in their eyes. "What do you want?" I demanded, standing straight and appear tough. When inside, I'm like a leaf. Shaking hard in a hurricane. The look in her eyes, the smirk and the way her fists clenched at her side. Grace appeared evil. Just like I knew.
"Let us go!"
"Help! Somebody help us!"
I stared wide-eyed at my parents struggling in the hands of two more guys. Mother appeared distraught while Dad's left eye was swelling and his lips was busted, blood oozed out. I returned my gaze on Grace, "Let them go. Now!"

"If you're smart Lucinda, you'd accompany us silently and obey what we say. If you do, we won't harm your parents."
I nodded, not hesitating. The man holding my arm tied both of my hands together. I winced. "Let them go like you promised!" I demanded once I was held tightly. Grace chuckled and lifted her hand. Mother and Dad were knocked unconscious. I gasp in shock as they limp in their captor's arms. "No! Let them go! Let them go! You bitch!"
"Come with us silently now Lucinda."
It'll snow in hell before I would do that. I shook my head, "No." Grace scoffed and shook her head, "You're dumber than I thought you'd be. Just because you're Harry's woman means you're superior to us."
I tried to shrug off the man and made a run for it, screaming on top of my lungs for Harry. The snow crunching below my feet as the wind around us bellow. I let out a cry when the men took hold of both my arms. Squirming to get away was futile. Grace grinned as she walked up to me, "Now be quiet Lucinda. You wouldn't want us to rip off your arms."
I glared at her, "Fuck you." A sharp pain erupted behind my head and I saw the world go dark. No, this can't happen! No! I must warn Harry-
"Did you prepare it?" I demanded. Not liking how the clouds begin to cover the whole sky and that time is running out, I began to shout out orders to the men in the room. Everyone was preparing in excellent speed, but that won't do.
"Yes, Styles. We prepared it like you asked."
I nod and dismissed him, waving his presence away. Turning to the window, I watch as the moon rise. Slowly, from its usual color, it turned red. I could hear people around town screaming and running, not knowing what is going on. For those who knows, they're probably shitting their pants right about now. "Harry! Excuse me, Harry! Harry!" I frowned once I heard Niall's voice. I spun around to see him running towards me. Niall released a few breaths, "I-it's Lucinda."
"What? What happened?" Did she escape? Didn't I made it clear to her that she couldn't escape me even if she tries? She's stubborn. If she escaped, then, what were those things she said? They were all lies? I felt anger searing inside me. "What did she do this time, Niall? Speak!"
"She's gone. She told me that she needs a glass of water but when I came down to check upon her, she disappeared! And when I went to the cellar, her parents are gone too."
I bit my lip to contain my anger, my fists curling by my sides. That fucking girl! She did trick me! How dare she-
"Styles! We're good and ready to go!" I heard one of the men yell. I shifted my gaze between Niall and the men before hissing. "We're leaving!" That was the only thing I must say to make them all shout in unison.
"But, what about Lucinda?" Niall's question made me stop on my tracks. I slowly turn and faced him, "Forget about her. I don't need her." Niall's surprised face remained in my head even as I walked out of the warehouse together with my men to face the ugly monster that was about to arrive. Once outside, I looked up to the sky and saw the moon already red. I closed my eyes briefly and clenched my jaw. It's time to end the son of a bitch.
Black smoke drifted around the area. The town has crumbled and all the people were either screaming or lying down face flat on the ground, dead. I stared at the women and children crying or bleeding from sharp pieces of glass that stuck to their faces and arms. Eyes and palm wide open. I shook out the mental images of seeing Mertil dead. Her skin a ghostly pale, eyes gauging out and blood staining her dress.
"Harry, are you okay?" I looked up to see Niall and Zayn staring at me. Shaking the images out, I grinned. "When was I never okay?" I chuckled lowly and walked in front of my men, leading them to where the black smoke was coming from. The land has cracked, boiling lava floated below. The air hot and moist. Fires licked every building in the vicinity. Everything you see are in flames, swallowed by the burning fire that could incinerate anything it could reach.
"Be on guard." I ordered and marched forward to where the atmosphere was even hotter. I looked up from the ground to see him. The one and only. His eyes were still dark and filled with evil. His pale skin having a scorching glow due to the fires surrounding him and his men. That mother fucker. Chief was an evil man and Lucifer took it upon himself to make him his right-hand man. A very bad move. Seeing me, he chuckled darkly. "Hello Harry."
I allowed myself to smirk, fascinated by the turning events. "Welcome back, Chief."
The man laughed aloud, his own men surrounding him. "You know I own this town since the day you were born. Why insist calling me by a name belonging to a mere mortal? I was given a new name by our master. You know me, don't you Harry?" I cocked my head to the side and wagged a finger at him. "Of course I know who you are you son of a bitch. You're the one who ruined my life and made me like this."
He nodded, "That's right son. That's right." I clenched my fists and glared at him. "Even if I ruined your life, it's not my fault Mertil died. It's yours."
I screamed at his words, angering me. "Shut up! You don't have the right to speak her name!" This only made him snicker. "It's obvious Harry! You can't handle the truth even if I write it out in index cards for you to read! It's your fault Mertil committed suicide that night!"
"You murdered her you son of a bitch!" I yelled, furious to the point where I felt energy between my fingers and around my hand. "You! Her father! You murdered her! Killed her!"
"Keep worrying about me being the murderer Styles." He egged on, gesturing someone behind him. I felt anger pulsing around me when they brought out an unconscious Lucinda. Her head limp. Grace stood by, her face unreadable. But no, not in my eyes. In my eyes, she looked smug.
Lucinda was right. Grace is the last Smith. I felt my blood boil towards Zayn's girlfriend. That bitch! I should've known! Turning to face Zayn, he appeared to be in shock as well. His jaw hanging open and eyes wide. "Keep worrying about Mertil, Styles. You might not save this one either." I whirl to see him ran his filthy finger against her cheek before licking it with his tongue. She made a face filled with pain. "No wonder you like her Styles. Trying to replace Mertil with a girl who looks like her? So pitiful of you. What do you think Mertil will say if she's here right now?"
I grit my teeth together, seeing red all over. "You piece of shit. I'll kill you!"
"No. You can't." He grinned.
