《Drunk & Sober : IN LOVE》Chapter 19

I then drove to the one and only Buckingham Palace. I parked my car to a far end and unbuckled my seat belt to step out.
Rex held my hand while we walked through the Green Park to catch a glimpse of the palace. "Have you ever felt to live here for just like a day?", Rex asked me while he looked at the ground watching his own steps.
I chuckled a bit before answering, "Who hasn't? Every person who see's the palace thinks that even if it is just for a minute. I remember my first visit to the palace. I hopped all along the way excitedly and when the palace was at a clear view I just stood there staring at it. And when we went inside the palace to see the part which is allowed to visitors, trust me, I didn't want to leave. I literally held my grandma's leg pleading her to stay there for just a bit longer. And I guess this is the reason why she never brought me here again." At this Rex smiled a bit whilst looking at me.
At this point we reached the entrance of the palace and I looked at him and asked, "Do you want to go inside?" "No I don't want to. Let's go and sit somewhere. The weather is good and I don't want to miss it", he said while holding my hand tightly.
We walked back to the car and after getting seated he asked me, "Where we up to now?" "Well, you want to sit somewhere so let's go to Hyde Park first. Then we will resume with the rest of the places", I said while looking in the rear view mirror.
He placed his hand upon mine which was controlling the gear and said, "Becs you do realize that London has a lot of breath taking places and we can't visit all of them in a single day, right?" I looked at him for a second before paying attention on the road and said, "Yeah I know that and it isn't comforting to hear this when I am literally trying to make the most of this day. So zip up and just enjoy!"
He just smiled at my words before looking out of the window. After reaching the park we sat on one of the benches inhaling the scent of the roses which filled the air.
"Why did you come to Seattle when London has the finest schools in the world?", he asked me out of the blue. It took me a second to answer his question.
"Ummm... I did not leave London in good circumstances. It was when my mother died. I needed to go out and meet some new people because my life really haunted me then. And my father didn't help me with it. I used to always think that he really dislikes me because even when all the other parents used to gather at school for their child's Sports day and other events, he never showed up. I was in my school's volleyball team but my father was so obsessed with his own life that he never paid attention to mine", I said while fidgeting with my fingers. He pushed his arm around me and scooted me closer.
I inhaled in his scent and it made me calm. He then said, " I was 10 when my sister broke my favourite toy. But she lied to me that it was April who did it. She was younger to me and so she got frightened that I might get angry on her. And this is exactly what happened but not with my sister but with April. My ten year old self pledged that I would never talk to her again. April came to my house one day and told me that it wasn't her who broke it. But I was too angry to even listen to her. Then one day, my sister felt real guilty when she saw that I wasn't talking to April because of her. So she accepted the truth in front of me."

I raised an eyebrow for him to conclude the story. He then turned me to face him and placed his hands on both my shoulders and added, "You see Becs, the fear of losing people is the greatest fear of all. It makes us do things that we know is wrong but we do it anyway to hold on to that one person. Just think about it for a minute. Maybe your dad is right. Maybe your mom really lied to you because you were all she had and this made her go to the extremes. Everyone deserves a chance Becca and no one knows this better than you. You can do better than this Becs. Let go of the hatred and focus on the good in front of you."
She just nodded at me in understanding. She then got up and held my hand attempting to make me stand.
"I don't feel like going", I said while pouting at her. She just smiled and pulled me with all her strength causing me to finally stand on my feet.
She took me to the small shop in the corner selling candy floss and looked at me with her big beautiful blue eyes. She took the largest one of them all and took me back to the bench.
She pulled the floss with her fingers and ate it satisfactorily. She asked me if I wanted to have some but I just denied her, my eyes never leaving her face.
Once she was done eating the candyfloss she grinned at me. I took her sugar covered fingers in my hand and licked them.
She blushed looking at me and I swear I saw her closing her eyes in utter pleasure. I just laughed at her and this caused her to shove me in the chest.
"You prick", she said while getting up from the bench and walking sturdily. I ran towards her and caught her in my arms before I lost my control and fell on the grass with her upon me.
We both laughed while looking at each other's disheveled appearances. We sat on the grass for some time before making our way back to the car.
I was awefully mischevious in the car trying my best to distract her by tracing my fingers on her bare thigh and squeezing them hard enough to earn a moan from her. She then parked the car in front of a supertall skycraper which she told is called as "The Shard" and is apparently the tallest building in the United Kingdom.
She looked at the figure in front of us and just smiled as if going down memory lane. I held her hand before walking towards the skyscraper.
"You know this is a 95 storey building but only the first 72 floors are habitable. And right now we are making our way up there", she said while pulling me along. As soon as we reached floor no. 72 it was as if I was on the top of the world.
It had a viewing gallery and an open-air observation deck. Rebekah pointed at the few places that were visible from the Shards.
I saw the London's eye, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Wembley Stadium and they looked so beautiful from the top. The cold breeze hit my face so harshly but I never felt so happy before.
It was a different feeling to be at such a height where the world seemed so small in front of you. I couldn't contain the happiness flooding inside me and in the swift of the moment I pulled Rebekah towards me and crashed my lips on hers.

I pulled away for a second to say "I love you" before continuing back. She looked at the sky before turning back to me and asked me, "Are you happy?"
I chuckled a bit before saying, "More than I ever thought I could be. Thankyou for being my guide to tour London." She was about to say something when I spread my hands to my sides and screamed with all my might, "I love you Rebekah."
She covered her face in complete embarrassement while the others clapped for my show of courage. I hugged her again before kissing her on her cheeks.
It was almost dinner time when we left the Shard. "Are you hungry?", I asked him while scratching my head.
He said, "Obviously I am. Why do you ask this?" I then thought for a second before replying, "Nothing. We will order a takeout and have dinner on our way to St. James Cathedral. I really don't want you to miss it."
He just nodded at me. I halted at a pizza joint and started unbuckling my belt when he stopped me and made his way out.
Minutes later he returned with a large size pizza box along with a coke bottle. He jogged to his side and once he was seated I sped the car in full speed.
He fed me the pizza but definitely had his share of fun. He used to keep the pizza slice in front of me but as soon as I opened my mouth to take a bite of it he pulled it closer to his mouth and instead took a bite himself.
I acted as if I was pissed off when I enjoyed every bit of his devilry. I pulled up in front of the cathedral and made my way to the front with Rex following behind.
I took two candles and gave one to him when we just stood in front of the Cathedral. It was all lit up with colourful lights and no wonder, it is considered as one of the most soothing places in London at night.
And not to mention it looked breathtakingly gorgeous. Rex pulled his camera out again and clicked some pictures of the Cathedral and some of mine while I was lighting my candle.
Once I was done praying, Rex elbowed me to look at him. "What did you ask for?", he asked me while pushing his hands in his pockets.
I pushed the strand of hair behind my ear before replying, "Wishes aren't meant to be revealed." He stopped for a second before jogging back to me and said, "Oh c'mon are you really planning to hide it from me?"
I looked at him challengingly and said, "You bet!" Just then he bought his hands to my sides and started tickling me while saying, "Are you sure?"
I almost sat on the ground while giggling like a baby and said in between my laughter, "Rex... Please! L... let me go. I...I beg you. Pl... Please!" When I was out of my breath he finally decided to let me go and said, "Okay. If you plead so."
I let him walk ahead of me and then jumped on his back for a piggy ride. He almost tried to act as if he lost balance and said, "You are so heavy Becs. What do you eat huh? Iron bars?"
I choked his throat by hugging him tightly and said dramatically, "Haha... Very funny Rex." He then asked me, "Where are we walking towards by the way?"
"Calm your horses baby boy", I said teasingly. After we reached a clearing I said him to drop me down to which he literally just left me causing me to fall on the ground.
"How can you do this to me?", I said while getting up from the ground. "Hop on. I will show you again", he said before running away from me.
I ran towards him while cursing him loudly. I then stopped with my hands resting on my knees while I was practically out of breath.
He caught up to me and asked, "What place is this?" I looked at the sky and said, "This is Hampstead Heath and we are here for stargazing."
I then laid on the grass and motioned him to join me. He laid next to me awkardly while holding my hand.
"How beautiful it looks. See there goes a shooting star!", I said while pointing at the sky. Instead he looked at me and nuzzled into my neck.
I relaxed in his touch and in no time we were kissing each other hungrily. We laid there silently for some time before he joked about something causing me to laugh.
We laughed together and I couldn't ask for anything more at that moment. Frankly speaking, I didn't believe in love after my dad left my mother but it seemed as if all this was years ago.
Rex had me head over heels for him and I don't think I can love him anymore than I already did. I just looked at him amidst all the laughter and kissed him on his cheek.
He looked back at me but did not say anything. We laid there for almost an hour before I saw him yawning.
"You sleepy?", I asked him while running my fingers through his hair. "Yes I am. Can we call this a day now?", he said while his eyes turned drowsy.
I chuckled before standing up and giving him a helping hand. He took my hand and we walked out with his hand draped around my waist.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
