《Toxic Thoughts》Chapter 17: Phone Call

In the end, Midoriya was the one to lose the game, which was to be expected. He coughed after taking a shot of the bottle, wheezing a little as he said he was okay. They continued playing though, every loser taking a shot. In the end, it was only Bakugou, Iida and Todoroki left. Iida had two fingers left, Todoroki and Bakugou both one. Katsuki smirked as he spoke up.
"Never have I ever used my quirk against someone without a license"
Iida and Todoroki shared a look and the halfa reached for the bottle as Iida slowly put a finger down.
"Ha! Looks like it's between you and me, glasses"
"Wait, hold up, I don't understand... What happened" Momo asked confused.
"Stain happened, and the police covered it up" Bakugou stated.
"You guys fought Stain?!" Uraraka gasped, also looking at Deku.
"It was an accident..?" the green head breathed, rubbing the back of his neck.
"I remember you punching him straight in the face" Todoroki pointed out, knowing that their fight had been anything but accidental.
"We are not supposed to talk about it" Iida stated, now looking at Bakugou.
"How do you know about it in the first place?"
"Oh, I know everything" Katsuki grinned.
"Also, Deku is shit at keeping secrets and I should've considered that before telling him about my messed up home life because now all of you damn extra's know about it too"
"Midoriya!" Iida gasped as the green head flinched.
"I'm sorry okay?!" he squeaked.
"Moving on-" Ashido sighed.
"Final statement! Which will come from me, a totally neutral third party"
Katsuki rolled his eyes and scoffed. Totally neutral, yeah right.
"Never have I ever needed glasses"
"Fuck you" Bakugou grunted, taking the bottle from icyhot and taking a sip straight from the bottle instead of pouring it in a glass.
"Iida is the winner!" the pink girl exclaimed happily, flinging her scarf around him.
"Congratulations!"
"Fucking raccoon face" Katsuki mumbled as he leant back against the couch.
"Aw come on man, you know she was gonna target you" Kirishima chuckled.
"You're the real winner in my eyes, if that makes you feel any better?"
"Don't fucking pity me" Bakugou scoffed, crossing his arms.
"Don't be such a sore loser" Ashido chuckled.
"Alright! Next game! Truth or dare"
Bakugou groaned loudly taking a blanket and leaning onto Kirishima.
"Move and and I'll kill you" he mumbled, closing his eyes as Eijirou froze up underneath him.
"Ooh~" Kami teased, poking the red head on his side.
"Dude" Kiri whisper hissed, his eyes wide as he tried not to move.
"Okay, okay, I'll back off" the electric blonde chuckled.
Kirishima just followed the truth or dare game as Bakugou dozed off on his shoulder. Jirou and Yaoyorozu had kissed, Todoroki was shirtless, Ojiro had fallen flat on his face while trying to stand on his tail. Asui had confessed to having a crush within the class, Tokoyami had sung a Disney song and turned the whole room into a karaoke bar for five full minutes. Katsuki had moved a little but hadn't woke up.
"Kirishima, truth or dare" Sero asked.
"Uhm, truth?"
"That's not really a manly answer, is it?" Mina laughed.

"Yeah, well, I don't wanna die" he breathed, motioning towards the ash blonde leaning against him.
"Alright, truth" Sero repeated, instantly getting something whispered in by Denki.
"Oh no..." Ei whispered, already regretting everything.
"Kirishima, do you have a crush on Bakugou?" Sero asked, making the room fall silent. Everyone was waiting for the red head to answer as he was frozen underneath the ash blonde. His face the colour of his hair.
"He's asleep dude, you can just answer the question" Sero added.
"I-I..." Ei choked out, biting his lip as his face flushed a bright red.
"...Maybe"
"Aaaaaaahh! That's so cute! I'm totally shipping it!" Ashido screamed, making Katsuki stir in his sleep and grab onto Kirishima's shirt. His face scrunched up and his breath hitched.
"Hey, hey, it's okay. I'm here, you're safe" he whispered, carefully holding on to the ash blonde. Bakugou awoke with a sharp gasp and he jumped away from Kirishima instantly, his breathing uneven. Eijirou frowned, he thought Bakugou was sleeping better when he was with him..? Why was he still having such bad nightmares..?
"Fuck..." he grunted, dragging a hand down his face.
"Are you okay?" Kiri asked.
"I'm fine" Katsuki answered in a reflex, glancing around and glaring at the others of the class.
"Stop fucking staring at me like some wounded animal!"
"Baku, please, you know we-" Mina started, trying to tell him it was okay and they weren't judging him.
"Shut up!" Bakugou growled, standing up and pulling a hand through his hair.
"I-I... I'm going to the bathroom"
With that the blonde left the room, the doors to the common bathrooms slamming shut. There weren't only showers and baths there, also toilets. That's the area where Katsuki had stormed off to. Kirishima groaned, pulling at his hair as he cursed silently.
"I want to help him so bad... But I just don't know what to do..."
"I'm sure that if anyone can get through to him, it's you" Midoriya said, giving him an encouraging smile.
"Thanks..." Ei chuckled. Meanwhile Bakugou was pacing in the bathroom, thinking about the dream he just had and the way he'd woken up... He remembered it being so nice, sitting outside on the grass in spring, that red haired idiot next to him...
Then he heard what sounded like a scream and suddenly Kirishima was covered in blood, dying before his very eyes. He wanted to cry, but he was way too shocked to do so. Only able to hold his body as their surroundings slowly faded away into darkness. He woke up almost immediately after, finding himself laying against said shark boy in the common room. Getting so close to him was a mistake... Now he was scared and worried for him...
He groaned, pulling at his hair. They were training to be heroes! Kirishima would get hurt, that was inevitable! He should've never gotten this close... If he did, he wouldn't be hurting now... Hurting for everything that was yet to come... A soft pling! pulled him out of thoughts, a notification. His eyes widened as he saw that she liked Ashido's picture on Instagram. His heart stopped beating for a second and his breath hitched.

Of course she found it, he was tagged in it for crying out loud! What would she do? How would she react to this? There were a million possibilities racing through his mind, all driving him closer to a panic attack, all of them disappearing when his phone started ringing. He stared blankly at the caller ID, recognizing it as his mother. With shaky hands, he picked up the phone, knowing she hated it if he waited too long to answer her.
"Hello?" he asked quietly, trying to keep his voice steady as he talked to her.
"Ah, Katsuki sweetie, it's your mom" she started sweetly. His dad was probably around somewhere so she wanted to fake her innocence. He faintly heard her heels click on the ground, signalling she was walking over some place else where she could unleash her fury onto him.
"I just saw you did a girl's make-up on Instagram! Is she in your class? Oh, wait, your girlfriend perhaps~? Does my little Katsu have a girlfriend~? It would be about damn time you brat"
Bakugou flinched at her tone, but decided to snap back like his dumb ass always did.
"Raccoon eyes isn't my fucking girlfriend you old hag! She's...a friend, I guess" he spoke, mumbling the last part.
She didn't know he was gay, which was for the better, really. It was just one more imperfection she could punish him for...
"Don't you use that foul mouth against me, you little brat! And speak up when talking to me! You know I hate mumbling!" she hissed. Ah yes, he knew that all too well... Which is why he grew up thinking that Deku's muttering was bad and annoying. He just reflected the ideals that were pushed upon him...
"She's my friend" he said, more clearly this time.
"Oh? Really now?" she laughed.
"Stop lying to me! We both know that nobody can stand your presence you brat! She isn't your friend! She just keeps up with you so you do her little favours like this! Nobody actually cares about a little bastard like you"
"Y-you're...wrong" Katsuki choked out, trying to find the strength to deny her, to push past those words he knew all too well.
"Wrong? I'm wrong?!" she snapped.
"I am never wrong! It seems like you're getting way too comfortable at that lax school of yours! What the hell do they even teach you there huh?! How to make friends? How to rely on others and be weak?! It seems as though I need to remind you that we are the strongest and we stand superior over others no matter the cost! Go pack your bags you ungrateful little rat! I'll send your father to pick you up in the morning and call the school to arrange everything. You're coming home this weekend"
With that she ended the call, leaving Bakugou frozen in place, his body trembling as he slowly lowered the phone. He had no other option but to go... The school wouldn't be able to refuse... He had a conversation with Aizawa sensei about that a little while ago. They lacked evidence to build a case against her. He had also brought up medication again, to which Bakugou had reluctantly complied.
But it was hard getting the anti-depressants since they were prescribed by name and they wanted to keep him anonymous. Another problem was that he was a minor and the school didn't have permission from the parents to give him that kind of medication without their consent. The rules were rather strict about it, which made it all the more difficult to get him the right medication.
He took a shaky breath, sucking it all in like he'd always done before, and marching out of the bathroom. The common room fell silent as he stormed through it, walking towards the elevator, earning yells of protest and questions.
"Bakugou, where are you going?"
"Is everything alright?"
"Are you okay?"
"Hey! Don't just leave!"
"FUCK OFF!" he hissed, glaring at them with his usual anger.
"This sleepover is stupid! I'm going to bed"
He slammed the door to the staircase shut, not bothering to wait for the elevator. He knew they would just try to convince him to stay-
"Bakugou! Wait!"
It was Kirishima, who else? The red head ran up the first steps, quickly taking a hold of the ash blonde's sleeve.
"What happened? Why are you running away? Please, talk to me" he begged, making Katsuki look away. He knew that if he looked into those deep red eyes right now, he'd just burst into tears.
"Let go of me, Shitty Hair" he spoke in a low and dangerous tone, but the red moron didn't waver. Small explosions started leaving his palms and he swiftly turned around, attacking Eijirou head on.
He was blasted to the bottom of the stairs, creating a gap between them. Not only that, but it also made a smoke screen, in which Bakugou escaped. He ran out on the next floor without being seen or heard and quickly spammed the button for the elevator in the hopes he would still reach his room before Kirishima recovered. Luckily the elevator arrived quickly, bringing him up to the top floor in a matter of seconds.
Katsuki sprinted out of the metal container, making a run for his room and locking the door behind him as he entered. The red head hadn't followed him... Good. But as he stood there, in the silence of his room, alone in the dark, reality fell upon him. He slid down against the wall, tears quickly coming from his eyes as he was unable to stop them. He was breaking down into a million pieces, unable to pick himself up.
He didn't want the class to know about it. If they realised he'd be going home, they'd throw a fit. They'd try to stop it, only alarming his mother more. She'd know there was something going on and his torture would be worse. It was selfish, he realised that. Yet he had to protect himself, he had to keep them away. At a safe distance, so they couldn't hurt him and he couldn't hurt them.
That's what he had always done, what he always wanted... So why did he feel the need to be comforted now? He yearned for affection now that he had finally gotten a taste of it. He wanted them with him right now... He wanted him with him right now... That stupid red haired idiot...
Oh Eijirou, what are you doing to me?
