《Arranged To The Mafia Boss》Chapter 6 • The Luckiest Girl in The World

Seven twenty am, read the clock which was just the right time for her to get up, get ready and leave. But she didn't want to get up. Her bed felt incredibly more comfortable than usual. There was something warm, almost like a radiator against her back, and it was breathing on the back of her neck. And then it hit her like a sack of potatoes, radiators didn't breath and they certainly didn't have arms. Mirabella opened her eyes, looked down and saw that there was a strong arm around her waist. She turned her head to look over her shoulder and saw Daniel fast asleep. His features were relaxed, his lips lips were glued together, his chest moved up and down and a few strands of his hair fell just over his forehead. He looked even more handsome when he was relaxed.
Mirabella shook her head and she mentally slapped herself. She slowly wiggled herself out from his grip, making sure not to make too much noise. She didn't want to put up with his question if he woke up. She knew he'd ask her where she was going.
In Victory, Mirabella quickly rushed to the bathroom, got ready, and headed downstairs to the front desk where she waited for her taxi to pick her up.
••••
Meanwhile, Daniel was still fast asleep. He had no idea that his bride was gone.
Slivers of light peeped through the drawn blinds, casting thin golden stripes across his face. He squinted in the harsh light and blinked a few times to adjust his eyes to the light. He looked to his side, hoping to see Mirabella still sleeping.
Oh, what just what a surprise did that girl leave for him to find.
Mirabella was nowhere in sight. He chose not to act out immediately. Maybe she was in the shower, he thought, but he didn't hear the water running. He got up and walked towards the sitting area of the hotel room, thinking that maybe she was there, but he only found an empty room.
Daniel changed and got ready before he headed downstairs. Maybe someone at the front desk saw her. She probably went to get breakfast in the restaurant that was inside of the hotel, he thought.
The hotels was already busy. People were walking in and out, some holding the tall glass doors for each other to enter or exit. Some walked to the elevators and some to the stairs, and some were doing the opposite. Daniel scanned his eyes over the people, hoping to catch a glimpse of Mirabella, but he didn't.
So he walked towards the front desk. "Erika," he aimed directly at the girl with brown hair. Erika tensed up by the tone in his voice. Daniel wasn't rude to his employees because they didn't disappointed him. But when they did. Well, they knew to keep their heads down and keep quiet. "You haven't seen Mirabella?" He asked her.

...Erika, if Daniel asks about me just say you didn't see me...
Mirabella's voice rang on her head. She promised not to tell on her, and Mirabella seemed like she was nice. But this was Daniel Rodriguez and he was not just a Mafia Boss, but he was her boss and there is a saying about promises, they're meant to be broken.
"Well, have you?" Daniel pressed.
"Yes," Erika nodded her head, before she told Daniel when she had seen Mirabella and where she was heading.
••••
"Gracias," She said, as she payed the taxi diver.
(Thank you)
Mirabella stepped out of the car, closed the door and watched as the car then drove off. She turned around and was looking up at a large, white building that was made out of marble stone. There were two flights of marble stairs that led to the three front doors. There were many windows. So many that Mirabella lost count as she tried to count them. The details and designs on the building had her looking everywhere. She inhaled a deep breath and then sighed before walking up the stairs.
The sudden feeling of being watched made her stop just as she was about to reach the final step. She turned around, her she's scanning for whoever was watching her. But she didn't see anyone. Everyone was minding their own business. She shrugged and made the final step before she pulled open one of the heavy wooden doors that had lager glass windows in the centre.
Cold air had hit her like the wind. The air conditioning felt so good. The floor was made of black marble with some white in it. The marble floor was polished and clean and looked as though it could have been a mirror. The walls were white and the colloms were made from the same marble as the floor. The tall ceiling was made from bricks and a golden chandelier hung down from it. The sunlight from the windows created shadows on the white walls, and there were many hallways you could walk through.
Mirabella stood in the queue of the front desk. She wanted to know which floor she had to go to. Many students were in the building, all walking and standing around as they spoke about their exams, upcoming assignments, classes and more.
It was finally her turn. Mirabella smiled at the women behind the desk. "Estoy aquí por el resultado, pero no sé a qué piso debo ir," she spoke in Spanish.
(I'm here because of the result, but I do not know which floor I should go to)
"En que clase estas?" the woman asked her.
(what class are you in?)
"Textiles."
The woman told her to wait one moment while she had a look in the computer system. "Segunda planta. Allí encontrarás la lista de nombres."
(Second floor. There you will find the list of names)
As told, she went to the second floor. Mirabella walked down the corridor. Students were standing on the sides not to get in the way of those who were hurrying to their lessons or exams. The doors to the classrooms were opened, but no one was in them. And then the bell rang and everyone was going to their lessons.

Mirabella continued walking until she reached the end of the corridor and found herself standing in front of a pin board that had after school activities pinned onto it, events that were going to take place soon and exam results. Mirabella searched for her class with her left finger running down the list of names when suddenly she felt a sudden force. She looked down at her wrist and saw that someone was holding it, and that's when her eyes traveled up to meet a pair of angry green ones.
"What the hell are you doing here," it wasn't a question, but a demand.
Mirabella was stunned that she looked almost confused. "Let go off my wrist" she said slowly, her voice filled with confusion as she looked away from her wrist to meet Daniel's cold and angry eyes.
Daniel, however didn't let her go. "We're leaving" he said, as he turned to leave and did not let Mirabella's wrist go.
"Let go off me," Mirabella said, her voice more firm now as she tugged her wrist back.
Daniel looked down at her, but didn't let go of her wrist. He shook his head. "You don't seem to get it," he said. "You're the wife of Daniel Rodriguez."
"Let go. Let me go or I'll scream," she threatened.
"Mirabella," he began. "You're testing my patience."
Mirabella gritted her teeth. She wasn't going to take any of his threats or warnings. "LET GO OFF ME!" She bellowed. "You've turned my life into hell!"
"You don't know hell, love" Daniel said, his voice calm and that made it all the more terrifying. "But don't worry. I'll show it to you." The way he spoke those words made it sound like a promise.
But Mirabella held her head up high and stood her ground. "Go ahead," She challenged. "Do whatever you can do. Ruin me. I don't give a damn. I wanted to study. All I ever wanted was to study and graduate. But you took all of that away from me. So congratulations to you and everyone."
Daniel almost felt pity for her. He thought that he was the one who dreaded this whole marriage the most, but apparently he was wrong. She didn't want this marriage at all. She had plans and goals, as he did, but hers were nothing to do with the Mafia. None at all. There was no guessing to what her reaction would be to the news awaiting her back home.
••••
The drive to the Desamparada mansion was silent. Neither of them uttered a single word, until Daniel pulled up in the driveway and turned the engine off. Mirabella did not waste a single second and opened the door.
She marched her way up to the front doors of the mansion which were wide open. She was filled with rage and wanted to take it out. She needed a something to scream into. A pillow. She needed a pillow to burry her face into and scream.
"Mirabella?" she heard her Godfather call her name just as she was about to walked upstairs. The man was confused to see his niece alone. Where was Daniel? And how did she get here?
Just as he was about to ask her, the sound of footsteps entered the house. "Daniel," Roman greeted him with a handshake.
Mirabella stood still on the steps of the staircase as she rolled her eyes. She sighed. "Can I go now?" She asked, before she shooting Daniel a cold sideway glance.
Daniel knew she was angry with for talking her out from uni. He looked at Roman and said. "I have to leave. Have her ready for tomorrow morning."
Mirabella frowned. "What do you mean, 'have her ready?'" She asked, but Daniel did not answer her. And as if this was all planned, his phone rang. Daniel reached inside his blazer pocket, pulled his phone out and answered it.
He exchanged a few short words with the people on the phone, before he looked back at Mirabella and turned to leave. "Wait!" She called after him. "What's tomorrow?!" But Daniel did not as so much look over his shoulder at her.
••••
"Wait," She said, a smile of victory danced on her face. "I know, you guys are getting rid of the dogs right? Finally. You know I never liked dogs." They were in the office, and Mirabella had never been more wrong in her entire life.
Roman, Mario and Alejandro looked at the girl as though she was on something. Antonio, however, bursted our in a fit of laugher. "This is gold," he laughed.
Alejandro tolled his eyes at his cousin. "You're going to Italy," he said.
Mirabella looked like she was going to be blind and deaf at the same time. She looked at her brother for a moment, trying to take in what he said. "So...you're shipping me off." This was not a question, but a statement. Mirabella exhaled a small laugh as she looked at the men in the room with her. "You all clam that this is for my own good. That this is the best thing for me. That being with him will secure me safety and that it's father's last wishes. Fine. You win," she said. "But I have done everything you have ever told me to do. I have more respect for you then I did for my own parents. I never broke any of the rules and I get this. I'm just the luckiest girl in the world."
