Gianna's POV:

Today, the girls are going to be at the studio for less time. Because I am only going to work on the solos. So, Paige, Mackenzie, Kalani and Jojo will learn their solos and I might quickly run through the group but other than that, the girls will just have normal classes.

So, at 8am, I woke everyone up.

Then we went downstairs to have breakfast. After breakfast, I said "Girls, get dressed and come back down here and do it quickly because we are already running late!"

While they got dressed. I sorted out some paperwork for the competition. Christi and Kelly were with me because they were already dressed.

The papers say that I have to have at least 1 dance, in every category in the competition if I have dancers that are in that category. So, that works out well. Because:

I already have 4 soloists. And they are in 3 categories because Mackenzie and Jojo are in the Petite category. Paige is in he Preteen category and Kalani is in the teen category.

And for Duets, Brooke and Mackenzie are in the open age category, Chloe and Maddie are in the Preteen category and Kendall and Brynn and in the Preteen category.

So I don't have any duets in the teen category or the petite category. So, I have to add 2 duets in. So I am going to give Brynn and Jojo a duet in he Petite category and I'll give Kalani and Nia a duet in the Teen category.

And for Trios, Paige, Nia and Jojo are in the Preteen category. So, I am going to change the trio around and add 2 more. So, the trios will now be Paige, Chloe and Maddie in the Preteen category. Kalani, Nia and Brooke in the Teen category and Mackenzie, Brynn and Jojo in the Petite category.

Then for group, it is in the Preteen category. But that is okay.

So, now I have to teach 4 solos, 2 duets and 2 trios as well as teaching Maddie and Chloe the choreography for the trio. But The girls can do that.

9:30am - Time to go to the studio.

I said to the girls "Same as yesterday, put your stuff in your lockers and then come into Studio A. I have something to tell you. Christi and Kelly. You 2 can come too."

They all came into Studio A. And I said "Right, so I have had to change the dances around because the competition director told me that because this is the first competition with this new company they have to see us compete in the different categories to see if I can keep the studio as a competitive studio or just as normal classes. So the new dances are:

Solos:

Mackenzie

Paige

Jojo

Kalani.

They haven't changed.

Duets:

Brooke & Mackenzie

Chloe & Maddie

Kendall & Paige

Jojo & Brynn

Kalani & Nia

Trios:

Paige, Chloe & Maddie

Mackenzie, Jojo & Brynn

Kalani, Nia & Brooke

And the group stays the same.

Has everyone got that?"

They nodded.

So I continued speaking "So, I am going to teach the solos first then the duets then trios. Okay? So if you have a solo stay in here, everyone else, go into Studio B and stretch. While you are in there, Nia and Jojo teach Chloe and Maddie the choreography for the trio that you learnt with Paige. So that they know it. Chloe learn Nia's parts and Maddie you learn Jojo's parts."

Solos:

So, Paige I'll start with you. Your solo is called It's about being in a place full of Bullies and you are trying to find a way to stop them. It's Musical Theatre.

Let's start with you in the back corner and your going to run to the centre and stop with your arms stretched out wide."

"Well done Paige. That's looking really good. Why don't you go into Studio B and get Chloe, Maddie, Nia and Jojo and the 5 of you go into Studio C and practice the trio."

She nodded and left. So I said "Right. So, Mackenzie. Let's work with you now. So your solo is called It has a lot of tricks in it. Its Acro.

Let's start with you in a chest stand with your feet in front of you and hook your arms around your ankles."

"Good job Kenz! That's really good. Now, why don't you go into Studio B and get Brooke and work on your duet."

She nodded and left and I looked at the 2 girls who were still in he room and thought about which solo I should teach now and I decided to teach Kalani hers. So I said "Kalani. Solo time."

"Right, your solo is called It's about a girl who is trying to fit in with the crowd instead of being who she is. It is Lyrical.

Let's start with you on your back on the floor and when the music starts you are going to lift your arms and legs up straight and then let them fall back to the floor."

"Good job Kalani. That's looking good. Now why don't you go into Studio B and practice the group with the girls."

"Jojo your turn. Your solo is called It's about a girl who becomes famous in a day. It's Hip Hop.

Let's start with you standing in the centre with your arms on your hips."

"Good job Jojo. That's coming along well. Can you go to Studio B and ask Nia and Kalani to come in here so I can teach them their duet please."

Nia and Kalani came in and I said to them "Right, girls. You have 3 days to learn this duet. It is Contemporary and it's called It's about wanting to become a new person but you have these people who are trying to remind you of your old life. So Kalani, you will be the girl who wants to try new things and Nia you are going to be reminding her of her life now.

So, let's start with Kalani in the Back left corner and Nia in the front right corner and Kalani you are going to take 5 steps forward and Nia you are going to do a front aerial towards her."

"Good work Girls. That's coming along really well. Can you get Jojo and Brynn to come in please."

Jojo and Brynn come in and I said "Girls, this duet is difficult choreography. Okay? It's called . And it is Lyrical.

So, Brynn you are going to come on from the left and Jojo from the right and you are going to copy each other. Like a Mirror. Okay?"

"Good. Jojo, Can you get Paige and Kendall to come in here. Brynn stay here for a minute please."

Paige and Kendall come in and I said "Paige, Kendall you have the duet that was Kendall and Brynn's. So it is called So, Kendall, Brynn please run through the dance. Paige watch Brynn because that's what you will be doing."

"Okay. That's getting there. Please go into Studio C and practice this dance. But first, let's go and have lunch! It's already 2 o'clock!!"

Now, I am going to teach Mackenzie, Brynn and Jojo their trio and Then I will teach Brooke, Nia & Kalani their trio and then we can go home for today.

So I said "Brynn, Kenz, Jojo. Come into Studio A to learn your trio. Brooke, Kalani, Nia be stretched because when they finish you will be coming to learn your dance. Paige, Chloe, Maddie do you know your dance?"

They nodded. So I said "Good."

Right, Girls, your dance is a cutesy Musical Theatre dance called You are always together so I figured it would be a good dance. Don't let me down!"

So, Mackenzie if you sit on the floor with your legs in straddle and your head in your hands with your elbows on he floor, Jojo come and kneel behind her with your head in your hands with your elbows on Mackenzie's back. Brynn you are going to be in the same position but you will be standing behind Jojo."

"Good work Girls. Can you get Nia, Brooke and Kalani to come in here please."

Nia, Kalani and Brooke come in and I said "Girls, you are doing a contemporary trio called

So, Nia if you sit on the edge of the stage in the middle. And Brooke you on the left and Kalani on the right. Then Brooke is going to get up and do a front aerial into the centre and do a scorpion and then pose. Then Nia you will get up and do a front aeriel to the centre and do an arabesque and then pose on Brooke's right hand side holding onto her with your left hand and then Kalani you will get up and do a front aeriel to the centre and then do a double pirouette and then pose on the other side of Brooke holding onto her with your right hand."

"Good work girls. We have already got through 1/3 of the dance. Let's go home."

So, we walked into the Dancers Den to see Mackenzie, Brynn and Jojo asleep, Maddie, Chloe and Paige in a corner giggling about something on their phone and Kendall just sitting on her phone. So I said "Come on girls. Let's go home. Go get your stuff quietly. Can someone get Mackenzie's stuff and Brynn's and Jojo's please. Maddie, Chloe and Paige nodded and said that they would do it. So, I called Christi and Kelly in and asked if they would each take a sleeping girl out to the car. I took Mackenzie, Kelly had Jojo and Christi had Brynn. It's a good thing they are all light! I thought as we picked them up and took them to the car.

I put Mackenzie in the car and did up her seatbelt. Then I went back to the studio to lock up. All the girls were in the car on their phones so that they didn't wake the sleeping 3.

When we got home, I put Mackenzie in her bed and Christi and Kelly out Jojo and Brynn in their beds and then I said to the others "Come on. Time to go to bed. We are going to be at the Studio for a long time tomorrow."

They all said okay and they said goodnight to me, Christi and Kelly and went to their bedrooms.
