Chapter dedicated to ! Go give her a follow, along with me! :)

•••••••••••

The date was amazing. It was beautiful but nothing extravagant. Exactly what I needed.

Mason dropped me home last night after and I slept terrible. Nightmare after nightmare it was time to wake up for work.

I drag myself out of bed, changing into my uniform and grabbing my keys.

I blast the music, keeping me from falling asleep.

"Oh God" I sigh, pulling up to my job. At five in the morning, there are people waiting outside for me to open. It's gonna be a long day. I quickly get everything set up and start taking peoples orders.

Its just me for an hour until a girl comes strolling in. "Sorry I'm late, there was an accident" She rushes, apologizing.

"Its okay" I smile, knowing she's being sincere.

"I'm going to get everything ready, do you mind taking the orders?" I ask.

"Of course not. You're here for Sydney right? Leah" She asks.

"Yeah, just for the next couple of days" I nod, cleaning the appliances and taking the food out, putting it in the window.

"Okay" She smiles, taking some orders.

"When does your shift end?" I ask, trying to get a sense of how we're staffed today.

"I get off at 11:30, I have class today" She explains.

"Okay, thank you" I thank her, nodding.

Hopefully Sydney put another person in the help me, otherwise it will be just me from 12:00 to closing time.

Works drags on, I have eight hours left.

"Woah, you look exhausted" Mason walks in, his eyes huge.

I nod, leaning against the counter.

"One second" I take the lady's orders and quickly make her tea for her. She thanks me and heads out.

"I brought you lunch, maybe you should take a nap or something. Did you sleep at all?" Mason hands me some food, kissing my forehead.

"Thank you, you're so sweet. No, I couldn't" I sigh, rubbing my eyes.

"I'm sorry" He frowns, moving out of the way so I can take another order.

"Its okay, I only have eight more hours" I yawn.

"Thats a long time, isn't it?" Mason asks the man who's order I'm making.

"Yeah, especially for working. But isn't it a Monday? You close early today" He crosses his arms.

"It is? I didn't know, I don't normally work on Mondays. Thank you" I hand him his drink.

"Thats perfect" Mason smiles.

"Well I'm not going by a random guy. I'm going to wait for Sydney to text me" I sigh.

Right on cue, I get a call from Sydney telling me to lock up at 5:30 with a million 'thank you's' thrown in.

Mason looks at me, a smile on his face.

"Oh shut up" I shake my head, checking the time to see I have a couple minutes until the afternoon rush comes.

I dig my hand into the bag of food and eat a couple fries, kissing Masons cheek as a thank you.

"I'll have a black coffee" Mason orders from me.

"Well get your butt back here and make it" I joke, handing him one.

He laughs, handing me the money despite my rejects and tossing a $10 bill in the tip jar.

"Mason" I sigh.

"What? You'll pay me back later" He winks at me, taking a seat at the table closest.

I shake my head, making a tsk sound.

Soon a herd of people file in, order after order I am almost wiped out of coffee. And energy.

"I'm tired" I sigh, leaning against the counter.

"Lucky for you theres only a half hour left" Mason checks his watch.

"Hopefully theres more people working tomorrow" I laugh.

"Yeah, thats a lot to handle for one person" Mason says. I nod, agreeing with him.

"What are we doing later?" I yawn, wiping down the counter top.

"I have a couple things in mind" I can hear the smirk thrown at me.

"Hm, I think I'll pass. Maybe I'll just go home" I tease him.

"Oh yeah, sure. Like you can resist this" He motions to himself, leaning against the counter.

"It's quite easy, actually. You act like I used to droll over you" I cross my arms.

"You probably did" He chuckles.

"Hardly" I scoff, laughing.

I never droller over him. Found him attractive? Of course, any girl would.

"Lets get out of here" Mason says as soon as its time to leave.

"You can head in the car, I'm just going to flip the sign and finish cleaning up" I wipe my hands on my apron.

"Okay, see you then" Mason kisses my cheek, heading out.

I quickly finish up, grabbing my belongings and locking up. I make my way to Masons black convertible, taking in the new car smell and his cologne, immediately feeling more relaxed.

"I'm exhausted" I yawn as he pulls out of the empty parking lot.

"I bet, I'm spending the night tonight. You didn't sleep last night" He says, driving towards the apartment.

"Okay" I nod, not bothering to fight him because he's right. I haven't been sleeping while I'm alone. The effect he has on me insane, its so strong that even when I'm unconscious I need him.

I'm so screwed if he ever breaks up with me.

He turns the radio on, Better Off Gone by Logan Mize sounds, springing tears to my eyes.

He pulls into the lot, quickly turning off the car and we make our way up to the apartment.

"You're unusually quiet" Mason nudges me, worry apparent in his face. "What's on your mind?" He shoves his hands in his pockets.

"Not-" I start, Mason interrupting me. "Don't say 'nothing' or 'i'm tired'" He smiles.

"Why not? It's the truth" I lie, hoping Mason can't see through my facade.

"Babe, come on. You have me worried" He holds the door open for me.

"Mason, I'm just so tired. I also might be getting sick. I don't know. I just feel out of it right now" I sigh, grabbing Bella's bowl and filling it with some food, refilling her water bowl with fresh water as well.

"Okay, I'll go run you a bath and then we can chill. I'll cook dinner and we can have an early night tonight" He kisses my temple, taking my bag from me and bringing it to my room.

I lean against the counter, rubbing my temples.

My gosh, how does Sydney do it?

"It's all done, hun. I'll make us up some chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes and broccoli" He rubs my arms, ushering me to the bathroom. The bathtub is filled with warm water, bubbles, epsom salts and there are a couple candles lit.

I strip out of my clothes, slipping into the bath, the light sound of music coming from the kitchen.

I lose track of time while I'm in the bath, my fingers pruning, making it look like I'm an 80 year old grandmother.

I wrap my robe around myself, quickly running into my room to get some undergarments and spandex to wear under the robe.

I sneak up behind Mason, wrapping my arms around his waist. "Thank you" I kiss his back.

"You're welcome. Dinners almost ready" He finishes up as I take a seat at the bar stool, watching his chef skills being put to work.

We make causal conversation until dinner is ready.

He places a plate in front of me, and one next to me. I thank him and start eating. The mash potatoes melt on my tongue, they're so rich and smooth. "My gosh" I mumble, placing a piece of chicken in my mouth.

The chicken has the perfect crunch to it, not tasting burnt but exactly the way I like it, The broccoli is the same way, the salt and pepper helping enhance its flavor.

"When did you learn to cook like this?" I question, feeling completely bewildered.

"My dad taught me a couple years ago, I used to always help him as a kid"He laughs, placing a piece of chicken and mashed potatoes in his mouth.

"It's amazing" I gush, my hunger being satisfied.

"Thank you, I'm glad it is. I haven't made a meal like this in some time" He runs his fingers through his hair.

Oh how I wish-

Stop it Leah, don't think like that. Nows not the time.

I clean up after dinner, since it's only fair. Mason is searching for a movie on my laptop, at least thats what I suggested. He could be snooping through my pictures and documents for all I know. I couldn't care less though, my life's been pretty boring, or horrible.

I quickly get under the covers, causing Masons head to snap towards me.

"I was thinking, Mean Girls or Legally Blonde. I know you love those movies" He pulls me into his arms as Bella lays right next to my head.

"Whatever you want to watch is perfectly fine with me Mas, you know that" I laugh, a smile on my face.

"Its your relaxation time" His hand caresses my naked thigh.

"Let's just watch a show or something" I suggest, struggling to keep my breath even.

"Okay, I'll just put Gossip Girl on for you. Do you want a back massage? I saw you leaning on the counter today" He takes my hair out of its tight ponytail.

"That would be so nice" I nod, taking a deep breath.

Mason instructs me to lay on my stomach and he places the computer in front of me, that way Gossip Girl is still visible.

He squeezes some lavender lotion in his hands, slowly working it into the muscles.

"Shįt Le, your muscles are so tense, and are these knots?" He works at an area, causing tears to spring to my eyes.

I flinch, Mason quickly withdraws his hands. "I'm sorry, I know it hurts. It'll feel better after, I promise" He goes back to working out my knots.

"Two days left, babe" He whispers, digging his knuckle into a knot. "Ow"

"Just breathe, in through your nose, out through your mouth" He gently massages my back, easing the sore spots.

Once he finishes my back, he applies a bit of pressure of my shoulders, stretching them out a bit.

His hands make their way to my head where he rubs circular motions with his fingers. My eyes flutter closed, uncontrollably.

A deep chuckle escapes Masons throat, a smile forming on my face at the sensation.

A couple minutes later, after there is no lotion on my back, Mason returns next to me, hugging me, tight.

I can already feel my nightmares disappearing, knowing they can't effect me while Mason is relatively close to me, never mind sleeping in the same bed as me.

"Are you sure you're okay Leah?" Mason notices my distance.

"Yeah" I brush it away, turning my attention to him and the show. "I love you" I kiss his jaw, a smile making its way onto his face at the contact.

I see a crimson color slowly making its way up his neck, his cheeks getting pink.

"Is Mr. White blushing?" I shriek, smiling.

"Yes, Mr. White is blushing, Ms. Williams" He smiles down at me, his hand drawing circles on my arm.

I pull the comforter closer to my body, needing more warmth.

I trace his abs through his t-shirt, prying my eyes open.

"You can go to sleep Le, don't fight it. You need to be up early, regardless" He brushes my hair out of my face.

"Thank you, Mason" I yawn, feeling myself slip into darkness.

She didn't sleep last night. I knew the second I saw her. Those nightmares are really bad, if you can even call them that.

I watch her chest heave up and down at an even pace, signaling she's sleeping.

I lace my fingers through her hair, careful not to wake her.

My phone flashes, showing a notification from Brooks.

'Plans tomorrow? Gotta talk'

I quickly type back a response, telling him I'm available any time.

I set an alarm, for early in the morning so I have time to make Leah breakfast and get everything ready for her, so she can sleep in. I also need to drive her to work, seeing that her cars already there.

She mumbles something in her sleep, clinging to my shirt, a soft chuckle escapes my lips.

I put on my show, siding to watch it until I get tired enough to fall asleep.

Its only seven now, if I fall asleep now, I'll wake up at three in the morning, which is not happening.

Leah's phone flashes, my sisters name popping up on the screen.

'Are you with Mason? I haven't seen him today. He didn't answer my texts or calls'

I furrow my eyebrows making sure I read it correctly. I never got anything from her.

I quickly check my phone, making sure there are no notifications.

Just as I thought, nothing.

'This is him. I got nothing from you Elle. I'll be home in the morning, Leah's sleeping'

I text back, turning her phone on do not disturb and resuming Friday Night Lights.

A couple hours later. I close Leah's laptop, placing it on the nightstand so it doesn't break. I get as comfortable as I can in jeans and a t-shirt and let myself drift asleep, but not before kissing Leah goodnight.
