I hear my alarm go off, immediately crawling out of bed. I did my bed, and looked at the time.
"6:30." I whispered, smiling to myself. I quickly slipped on my slippers, running out of my room. Opening the front door, sitting down outside, waiting patiently.
I looked to the side, and see him. I smiled, and got up. It's Paper Boy! Including his dog! He noticed me, and waved, smiling. I waved back. He reached for a newspaper, throwing the newspaper towards me. I ran towards the newspaper, grabbing it.
"THANK YOU! Have a nice day!" I yell, waving goodbye.
"You too, miss!" He yelled back, pedaling to the next house.
I ran back inside the house, putting the newspaper down. I go back to my room, to get ready for school. I ALWAYSS wake up early just to be able to see paper boy, and to say hello to him. We haven't actually talked, but he seems like a very nice person. I always want to say thank you to him for delivering a newspaper to my house.
I also get ready early so I can be done by the time Robin comes to my house, to pick me up. So we can be able to walk to school together.
I did my hair, and grabbed my outfit for the day. Changing into it.
I finished getting ready, and went to the kitchen to get myself some cereal. I finished eating my breakfast, and walked to the living room, watching some TV.
I heard footsteps, and immediately knew it was dad. I turned around, and saw him all dressed up in his work clothes. I got up, and waved.
"Morning, dad." I say. He smiles, and waves back.
"Morning, sweetie. You're up early, today." I laugh, and nod.

"I just like waking up early, I guess!" I reply, knowing that's not true. I only do it for 2 reasons. And 2 reasons only. He nods, and grabs his car keys.
"Well. I better get going to work, now. Have a good day, at school." Dad says, opening the front door. I nod, and wave goodbye. I hear the other's, and smile. I see Gwen, and Finney entering the living room, looking TIREDD.
They look like zombies that just rised from the dead. Jeez....
"Good morning, you two!"
"Morning...."
"DANG!! Already dressed up? Why do you always get up so early?? And I know it ain't because you want to get all dressed up, and ready. And, stuff." Finney say's.
"I JUST LIKE WAKING UP EARLY!!"
"BULL CRAP! When it's summer, you oversleep. But when it comes to school, It's the complete opposite! You snore like a hog, when you oversleep." Finn say's,
"DANG! Woke up in the wrong side of the bed, or something?!" He laughs, and make's himself some breakfast.
"You're one to talk, Finn." Gwen says, shocking Finney,
"BAHAHAH!!" I laugh, Gwen laughing with me.
"SCREW YOU BOTH!"
••••
I heard a knock on the door, and immediately go to open it.
"Hi, Robin!!" He smiles, and waves at me, and Finney.
"Hi, Finn! Hi, Y/N. Ready to walk to school?" He asks. I nod, grabbing my backpack.
"Alright, bye guy's! See you at school!"
"Wait....that's why you wake up early!! To get ready early, so you can walk to school with Robin!" Finn yells. He finally catched up. I wink at Finn playfully, closing the door.
"YOU-"
"Ignore that...." I say, smiling nervously.
"It's cool. Don't worry about it." Robin says,

"Anyways, want to see who can make it to school first?" Robin asks.
"What do you mean-"
"RACE YOU THERE!!" He yells, running. THIS MAN, I SWEAR.
"NOT FAIR!!" I yell, running behind him.
We make it, me out of breath from all that running! While Robin was perfectly fine!
"Screw you...." I say, standing up. I look, and see that Gwen and Finney made it to school, too! I ran up to them, and hugged Gwen. Finney walking towards Robin.
"Hey, Y/N! Just got here, too? Well, i'm gonna go inside now. So I can see my friend's. See you at lunch?"
"Ya, mhm. Of course!" Gwen smiles, and gives me a quick hug before walking away. I turn to look at the other's,
"Hey, guy's! I'm gonna go to class, now." I say,
"I'll go with you! We have the same class together." Finney say's, looking at me.
"Alright. See ya later, Robin!!" I wave,
"Bye, N/N! And see ya later, Finn!"
Finney and I walk to class together, until I see a group of girls crowding around one spot. I stop walking, while Finn continued to walk. Not even noticing that I stopped walking. The bell rings, most of the girls now running to class. I then see that the person the girls were crowding around was Bruce! I know him! From baseball.
He notices me, and begins walking towards me. Bunch of people, staring.
"Hey! I've seen you before? You hang out with Finney, right?"
"Ya! Ya, I do. Finns my brother." I reply,
"Ohh, I see. Ya, I always see you at the bench whenever I play. Nice to see that you're supporting your brother. You coming to the upcoming game, right?" He asks,
"Mm, ya! I guess?"
"Nice! Looking forward to seeing you at the crowd. Names Bruce."
"I know. Everyone talks about you! You're practically popular here." He laugh's,
"Anyways, i'm Y/N. Y/N Blake. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you too, Y/N." I smile,
"Well. I gotta get going to class, y'know?"
"Oh, right!! ya, see ya! Bye!"
"Bye!" I smile, and walk to class.

Redshirt: The Journey
Freedom and Order. Peace and War. Love and Hate. Hundreds of young children awaken in a damaged world, on the brink of societal collapse, witnessing the birth of an omnipotent system. Their roles are pre-determined, yet the very fabric of reality lie in their hands. The order of the world shapes them, just how they are free to shape the world in their disparate visions. Each choice, each action, each word, has consequences that reach far beyond their perception. Freedom or Order; ashes in the wind, or the gilded chains. Updates at least every Monday, Thursday, and every other Sarturday, (from 26/11/2021). This is primarily a story exploring what it means to be human, using a lens of a hopefully real-feeling fantasy world. This story is not a power fantasy or a traditional Litrpg , while it has elements of these genres, it will focus on how these tropes would influence real people and possibly Redshirt will break some of these tropes along the way. There will be a variety of different characters and perspectives, some you hate, some you love, and some that will frustrate. Just as all people do. I don't believe there will be anything overly traumatic or explicit, but it's better to be safe than sorry. There will be some heavy topics explored, the characters views do not reflect the authors; however, if there is an issue in how I present/understand these issues please do tell me, and I will try my best to rectify it.
