《Healing Hearts ❤ Derek Hale ✔ (Under construction)》(1x4) Magic Bullet, part 3 ✓

Derek had his head on my shoulder still in pain, digging his face into my shoulder time to time clearly because of the pain in his body. He hissed loudly here and there, I had brought myself on the edge of my seat to let him rest his head against my shoulder.
Stiles on the other hand was on the phone with Scott. "What am I supposed to do with him?" Stiles asked, glancing at Derek who started to nuzzle his face into my neck making me freeze as I saw Stiles staring at Derek in confusion before glancing at me suspiciously.
I sucked in a breath, knowing he was onto my ass. "Put it on speaker." I demanded, causing Stiles to pull the phone away from his ear and put it on speaker.
"Take him somewhere, anywhere." He whispered through the phone.
Derek gasped in pain making me close my eyes when I felt pain shot up in my own arm, not knowing why I was feeling pain in my arm and it was weird because it was the same arm Derek had his injury. "And by the way he's starting to smell." My head shot up the same time, Derek removed his face from my neck.
I smacked the back of his head causing him to hiss and hold onto his sore spot. "Like-like what?" Scott whispered through the phone, obviously not aware that I slapped our idiotic best friend.
Stiles glanced at Derek. "Like death." He responded, causing Derek to shoot him a glare making him nervous all of a sudden.
Stiles slowly put the phone off speaker making me roll my eyes. I leaned over placing my ear onto the phone. "Okay, take him to the animal clinic." Scott told us, causing Stiles and I to both look at each other with wide eyes.
I took the phone out of Stiles' hand placing it onto my ear causing Stiles to lean his ear against the phone. "What about your boss?" I questioned this time.
"He's gone by now." He responded to my question. "You already know where the spare key is." Scott told me causing me to nod my head as if he'd see me.
"Under the box behind the dumpster, got it." I told him, clearly knowing I was corrected since I went to get my jacket a few days ago from the clinic and had to use that spare key.
Stiles pulled his ear from the phone looking over at the pale dying Derek next to us. "You're not gonna believe where he's telling us to take you." Derek motioned me to give him the phone.
I pulled the phone away from my ear and handed it to Derek. "Did you find it?" He asked as soon as the phone was on his ear. "Look, if you don't find it, then I'm dead, all right?" Derek continued on, I wanted to know what Scott was saying so I slowly leaned closer and placed my ear on the other side.
"I'm starting to think that wouldn't be such a bad thing." I pulled my ear away from the phone putting my lips in a line shaking my head.
Derek glanced over at me. "Then think about this." He looked back ahead of him, breathing in and out heavily still suffering to keep himself alive."The Alpha called you out against your will. He's gonna do it again. Next time you either kill with him or you get killed. So if you want you and your sister to stay alive, then you need me." My eyebrows shot up in surprise, he really knows how to make dumb and dumber dedicated to their job. "Find the bullet." He demanded, hanging up the phone and tossing it back to Stiles who was looking at Derek hesitantly before he started the car once again and drove off.

Stiles had pulled up in front of the clinic. He climbed out then helped me slip out from the backseat. We both went around and I pulled the passenger door opened. Stiles helped Derek climb out as he struggled to hold him as I led them towards the clinic door. "Give me a second." I said, looking at Stiles' struggling face.
"Make it quick!" He demanded, struggling.
I glanced at Derek's pale face before rushing towards the dumpster, grabbing the box and taking the key out of its box. I stood up rushing back towards the clinic and unlocked the clinic door and pushed it open letting Derek and Stiles step in first.
I rushed in behind them shutting the door after us. Stiles let him go causing Derek to slump against the wall breathless. I walked towards him grabbing his uninjured arm looking at him worriedly. "Stiles, how long is it going to take Scott to get here?" I asked, looking over at him to see him staring down at his phone.
"He's not answering my text." He answered, making me sigh and look back at Derek with anxiousness. "Does Northern blue monkshood mean anything to you?" Stiles said, causing Derek to slowly open his eyes looking over at Stiles.
He struggled to hold himself up against the wall causing me to hold onto his arm while the other one was pressed against his waist trying to keep him steady. "It's a rare form of wolfsbane. He has to bring me the bullet." Derek struggled to breathe out.
"Why?" Stiles asked curiously.
"Because without it, I'm dead." I froze, looking up at Derek with a worried look causing him to look down at me.
His hand slowly came up to my cheek stroking it softly. I couldn't help but lean my cheek against his hand, loving the feeling of his warmth. Derek slowly removed his hand from my cheek making me realized, Stiles was standing behind us. I turned my attention to Stiles but he wasn't even looking at us he was busy on his phone with his back to us making me sigh in relief that he didn't see us.
My attention was caught by Derek who pushed himself off the wall and went towards the examining room. "Derek, you're injured be careful." I said, following after him with Stiles soon trailing behind me.
Derek turn on the light of the examining room of the clinic and slipped off his shirt causing air that was trying to get into my lungs, get stuck at my throat. My eyes fell to his gunshot wound and let me tell you it looked worse than in the car. Veins were shown on display from open sores while the rest of his arm had turned yellow.
I gasped taking a step closer to him, as my eyes continued to stay on his wound. Stiles stood beside me as he looked down at it with a scrunched up face. "Okay." Stiles began making me look over at him. "You know, that really doesn't look like anything some Echinacea and a good night of sleep couldn't take care of." I ignored Stiles' comment and stared down at his arm carefully.
Derek looked up at us with his pale face. "When the infection reaches my heart, it'll kill me." I tensed, glancing the other way before looking back at him.
"'Positivity' just isn't in your vocabulary, is it?" Stiles and I both said at the same time, having enough of Derek's negative thoughts.

I watched Derek confused when he went through the drawers, looking for something but Stiles and I didn't bother to even ask what he was looking for.
He was so sure that he was going to die and it was annoying me because it was scaring me to even think of him dying. "If he doesn't get here with the bullet in time..." Derek paused looking me straight in the eyes with his green orbs. "Last resort." I furrowed my brows, glancing over at Stiles.
Derek went back to what he was doing going through all the drawers, Stiles sent me a hesitant look. "Which is?" I spoke up, crossing my arms. He froze in action as he looked down at the drawer he opened, taking out something that made my heart drop when I saw it. "An electric bone saw." I breathed out staring at it. "What do you need that for?" I asked glancing between him and the object cautiously.
Derek looked over at Stiles and I, staring at us back and forth. "One of you are gonna cut off my arm." He answered, making my eyes grow wide.
He placed the saw on the table making me back up away from the table. "Yeah...I'm not doing that." I said quickly, pushing the saw towards Stiles.
Stiles sent me a disbelief look. "I'm not doing it either! So you're going to have to do it." Stiles argued back, pushing the terrifying looking object back towards me.
I squinted my eyes at him. "Why should I do it!?" I exclaimed, looking down at the scary object.
Derek sighed in annoyance at our argument, clearly not the time for mine and Stiles' fight. "Uh. Your mom's a nurse." Stiles said, like stating the obvious making me look at him as if he was stupid.
"What the hell does that have to do with anything!?" I continued to argue.
"It means you know more about this stuff than I do." Stiles fought back.
I rubbed my face in anger. "I don't know anything! And also my mom isn't a surgeon, she's a nurse." Stiles rolled his eyes at me.
"Whatever. What's the difference?" I groaned throwing my head back in frustration.
I pushed the saw back. "I'm not doing and plus! You're the guy." I pointed out, making him narrow his eyes at me. "This just proves what kind of sissy you are. Lydia did say she likes brave boys." I played that card making him look at me with narrowed eyes.
Derek growled lowly. "I really don't have time for this." Derek cut in, making us both realize he was practically dying while listening to our stupid argument. "You are going to cut my arm off" He demanded looking straight at Stiles, breathing heavily in pain.
"Oh, my God." Stiles said, taking the saw in his hand looking panicked. "What if you bleed to death?" He panicked staring at Derek who grabbed band attempting to tie it around his infected arm but failed completely.
I made my way towards him, grabbing his hand stopping him from trying to tie it. He looked down at me the same time the sparks and shocks awoken from our touch. I sent him a small smile, letting go of his hand and tying the band around his infected arm still feeling his eyes on me. "It'll heal if it works." Derek reassured him, but the last sentence didn't make Stiles feel better about doing this.
I slowly stepped back when I was done tying the band around his arm. "Ugh. Look..." Stiles paused for a second swallowing thickly. "I don't know if I can do this." He admitted, causing Derek to look up from the band that I was tightening to make sure it was good.
"Why not?" He asked, staring up at him confused.
Stiles looked at him with a 'really' look. "Well, because of the cutting through the flesh, the sawing of the bone, and especially the blood!" Derek furrowed his brows staring up at Stiles in confusion.
"You faint at the sight of blood?"
Stiles stood straighter. "No, but I might at the sight of a chopped off arm!" Stiles exclaimed.
Derek looked up at Stiles with a weak and tired look. Obviously he wanted to get this over with. "All right, fine. How about this? Either you cut off my arm, or I'm gonna cut off your head." Derek threatened, causing me to look over at Stiles.
Stiles paused for a second but then his expression turned challengingly. "Okay, you know what, I'm so not buying your threats any-"He was cut off when Derek yanked the collar of his shirt. "Oh, my God. Okay. All right, bought, sold. Totally. I'll do it. I'll do it." He said, freaking out in fear that Derek would actually cut his head off.
Derek released Stiles but with a following sound escaping him, he started to gasp, choke, and cough at the same time. "Derek..." I trailed worriedly, placing my hand on his bare back where his tattoo was.
Stiles looked confused. "What? What are you doing?" Derek hunched over, my hand remained at its spot as he opened his mouth and instantly black liquid escaped his lips. "Holy god, what the hell is that?" Stiles asked, staring down at it with disgust.
"W-what?" I stuttered out hesitantly, this time I was growing more worried realizing time was running late.
"It's my body..." He gasped out. "Trying to heal itself." He breathed out, slumping down on his knees with his eyes flashing blue.
"Well, it's not doing a good job." Stiles added one of his stupid comments.
I glared at him. "Not the time, Stiles." He raised his hand in surrender. I removed my hand from Derek's back, crouching down to his level. "Time is running out isn't it?" I asked, fright laced into my voice causing him to stare up at me.
He quickly turned his attention to Stiles. "Now...You gotta do it now." Derek told Stiles, forcing himself to stand up from the floor. I quickly helped him more like struggled to help him, I watched carefully as he placed his infected arm on the examining table. "Stay back." He told me, causing me to hesitate. "For safety." He added on, I slowly nodded backing up away from what was happening
Stiles looked taken back by Derek's sudden demand. "Look, honestly, I don't think I can." He said, wanting to back out last minute.
I felt stressed just watching Stiles wanting to back out. "Just do it!" Derek and I both shouted at the same time.
Stiles sucked in a breath holding the saw to Derek's infected arm. "Oh, my God. Okay, okay. Oh, my God. All right, here we go!" He was about to press pressure onto Derek's infected arm but soon my brother's voice came bombarding into the clinic.
I've never been more happy to hear Scott's voice until now. "Stiles! Layla!" Scott shouted through the clinic.
I sighed in relief when he barged into the examining room. "Scott?" Stiles and I both said at the same time but Scott looked between Stiles and Derek confused then his eyes fell on the saw that was still on Derek's arm.
"What the hell are you doing?" He asked, shocked at the scene that was happening in front of him.
Stiles breathed in relief. "Oh, you just prevented a lifetime of nightmares."
"Did you get it?" Derek asked, Scott held up the bullet causing Derek to quickly snatch it out of his hand.
He raised it up into the light, examining it closely. "What are you gonna do with it?" Stiles asked, for the three of us who were watching Derek curiously and confused.
"I'm gonna...I'm gonna..." Derek trailed, dizzily and instantly he went to hit the floor.
"Derek!" I shouted, my body quickly jerked forward grabbing him and tumbling onto the floor myself but supporting his head that landed onto my lap.
Scott quickly went after the bullet that fell out of Derek's hand "No. No, no, no, no." I heard Scott repeat but I didn't bother looking up, my eyes continued to stay on Derek.
"Derek?" I tapped on his cheek, trying to wake him up. "Derek, please wake up, please." I pleaded, looking at him with fear before I placed my ear onto his chest listening to his heartbeat, hearing it move steadily.
Stiles kneeled down beside me. "Derek. Derek, come on, wake up." Stiles tried shaking him awake. "Scott, what the hell are we gonna do?" He asked, we both look over at Scott who had stuck his fingers into the drain, where the bullet fell into. "I don't know! I can't reach it." He panicked, trying to grab the bullet.
Stiles looked panicked while I placed my hand on his chest trying to feel his heartbeat. "He's not waking up!" Stiles yelled, while Scott continued to try and take the bullet out. "I think he's dying. I think he's dead!" I shot Stiles a look, still feeling Derek's heart beat against my hand.
And he started telling Derek that positivity wasn't in his vocabulary. "Just hold on!" Scott snapped. I ran a hand through Derek's hair staring down at his pale face anxiously. "Come on. Oh! I got it! I got it!" My head snapped up to see Scott holding up the bullet.
Stiles looked down at Derek making me look over at him confused. "Please don't kill me for this." He muttered, making a fist causing my eyes to grow wide at his action. He swung and landed a punch against Derek's face, Stiles backed up holding his hand in pain. "Ugh! Ow! God!" I sighed in relief when Derek's eyes fluttered open, his eyes meeting mine before he quickly shot up.
"Give it to me." He demanded, causing Scott to toss the bullet to him.
I stood up, biting my lip as I couldn't help but help Derek stand up off the floor. Scott tosses Derek the bullet as he struggles to his feet. I watched him crack the tip open and pulls a lighter out from his pocket holding the flame to the things inside the bullet, sparks instantly reveal. He slides the ashes into his palm and sticks it onto his gunshot wound.
I gasped as soon as pain shot through my arm the same time Derek winced in pain. My hand couldn't help but grab onto my arm tightly, clenching my jaw in pain. Derek drops back to his knees on the floor. He opens his mouth, revealing his sharpened fangs as a scream escaped his throat causing Scott to grab my arm and step back.
I winced in pain making Scott look over at me confused as his eyes fell on the spot I was holding onto tightly.
Soon Derek's screams slowly die down as the pain in my arm fades away, his wound closed within seconds, returning back to his normal skin. "That. Was. Awesome!" Stiles breathed out, causing me to roll my eyes as I made my way towards Derek. "Yes!" He cheered. I scoffed at his amused face.
I couldn't help but help Derek stand up from the ground. "Are you okay?" Scott asked, beating me to it before I could even ask.
I stepped back away from him. "Well, except for the agonizing pain." He said, sarcastically making Stiles smiled at him.
"I'm guessing the ability to use sarcasm is a good sign of health." Stiles stated, causing me to sigh at his comment.
Derek grabbed his shirt slipping it over his bare top. "Okay, we saved your life, which means you're gonna leave us alone, you got that?" I tensed, looking down at my shoes. "And if you don't, I'm gonna go back to Allison's dad, and I'm gonna tell him everything-" Scott was cut off by Derek
"You're gonna trust them? You think they can help you?" Derek questioned him in disbelief.
Scott looked at him scoffing at Derek's words. "Well, why not? They're a lot freaking nicer than you are." I raised my eyebrow at my brother. Nicer? Is he stupid? They hunt his kind! If they find out about Scott...He is clearly dead.
I put my lips in a tight line, shaking my head continuously. "I can show you exactly how nice they are." Derek declared, glaring at Scott
I glanced at Scott with furrowed brows before we both turned our attention back to Derek. "What do you mean?" Scott couldn't help but ask.
I played with the necklace around my neck as we walked down the corridors, a sign catching my eyes that read 'long time care' Scott continued to glance over his shoulder making sure we were alone while Derek continued to lead the way.
Glancing over at Derek, who was focused on taking us wherever he wanted to take us. "What are we doing here?" I couldn't help but ask nervously, Derek threw a glance my way but didn't answer me.
I gasped when he grabbed my hand causing the feeling when our hands touch awaken as he opened the last door ushering us inside a dark room, he slowly closed the door behind us, letting go of my hand walking towards the curtain opening it revealing the moonlight into the room.
A scream almost escaped my throat when I turned around to see a man in a wheel chair. I cupped my mouth staring down at him with wide eyes. One side of his body was seen but the other was hidden, I breathed out slowly. "Who is he?" Scott asked this time, causing Derek to glance between us.
"My uncle." He revealed, causing me to push my hair out of my face. "Peter Hale." I examined the man in the wheelchair carefully.
Scott stepped closer to me. "Is he....like you, a werewolf?" Scott asked, hesitantly as we both stared down at the man in the wheelchair.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
