Stiles pulled up next to Jackson and Mr. Argent who were in a deep conversation but we all know why Mr. Argent is next to Jackson at the moment since he thinks Jackson is a beta. We walked out of the jeep looking between the two casually.
"What's up?" Stiles greeted as soon as we walked towards them.
"Is everything okay?" Scott asked, as we glanced between the two but the facial reaction Jackson had proved that nothing was okay.
"Hey Scott, you friend over here was having car troubles, we're just taking a look." He made up an excuse, my eyes scanned him suspiciously.
Yeah the last time he was with a car it wasn't looking to fix any troubles. "Mhm..." I hummed, looking at him with an unfazed look.
"There's a shop right down the street." I informed them, staring at Argent carefully. "I'm sure they have a tow truck."
"Yeah." Stiles agreed, sending me a wink. "You want a ride?" He asked, Jackson who continued to hold his expression as he glanced at the three of us before his gaze moved back to Mr. Argent without blinking. "Hey, come on, Jackson. You're way too pretty to be out here all by yourself." His gaze falls back on Stiles giving him a weak laugh.
I sent a smile to Jackson while sending a little sign. "Come on, Jackson." He slowly nods his head as he slowly walked towards the door while Scott opened the door for him.
The loud sound of the hood slamming shut was heard. "Hey." Mr. Argent called out. He went into the car twisting the key causing the car to turn on once again. "Told you I knew a few things about cars." I let out the breath I was holding in as my eyes slowly fell on Stiles and Scott.

Stiles pulled up in a strip mall parking lot. Stiles didn't even put the car on park when Scott jumped out, hurling for Jackson who had just gotten out of his car.
Stiles and I both slipped out of the jeep. "What? Are you following me now?" He asked in disbelief.

"Yes! You freaking idiot!" Scott exclaimed. "You almost gave away everything, right there!" He continued to argue.
"What are you talking about?"
"He thinks you're the second beta." Scott spilled, as he looked at him frustrated. "He think you're me!" He continued to inform him. I jumped in surprise when he slammed his fist against Stiles' jeep.
Stiles looked hurt by the action. "Dude. My jeep." He butted in, looking at Scott defensively.
"I can hear your heart beating from a mile away - literally!" He shot back, ignoring Stiles. "Now he thinks that there's something wrong, and now I have to keep an eye on you so he doesn't kill you too!" He exclaimed, as his balled fist went to slam down onto Stiles' hood but Stiles quickly grabbed his hand gently guiding him back.
"Okay, how about we step away from Stiles' Jeep." Stiles suggested, but once again he was being ignored.
"This is your problem, not mine, okay?" Jackson continued to fight back. "I didn't say anything, which means you're the one that's gonna get me killed. Okay, this is your fault." My eyebrows shot up, putting my lips in a line not wanting to get mixed up into this.
I gasped when Jackson pushed Scott's back onto the jeep. "Can we stop hitting my jeep?" Stiles asked, not wanting to see anything happening to his jeep.
Scott pushed Jackson back, but things started to get more serious when they got into each other's faces. "Alright! Enough!" I shouted, getting in between them. "Can you both stop acting like little kids? Arguing and fighting will not solve anything. Now will everyone just calm down?" I breathed out, glaring at the two.
"When they come after you, I won't be able to protect you. I can't protect anyone." Scott proceeded to say, causing me to sigh at him.
Scott's eyes slowly fell on Stiles who stood beside me. "Why are you looking at me?" Stiles asked, causing Scott to refocus and put his attention back on Jackson.
"You know, now you have to do it. Get me what I want, and I will be fine protecting myself." Jackson responded, causing me to scoff at his comment.

What is so fun being supernatural? So far it's been miserable for me. "Do you really think this life is all sunshine and rainbows? Because sorry to break it to you, it's really not." I spoke up, sending him a look.
"She's right." Scott agreed. "All it does it make things worse."
"Oh, yeah, really? You can hear anything you want and run faster than humanly possible. Sounds like a real hardship, McCall." I face-palmed not being able to handle his dumb words.
"Yeah, I can run really fast now - Except half the time, I'm running away from people trying to kill me!" Scott shot back angrily. "And I can hear things like...like my girlfriend telling people that she doesn't trust me anymore right before breaking up with me. I'm not lying to you! It...ruins your life." Scott continued to reason but as we all know Jackson has a very thick skull.
"It ruined your life." Jackson corrected. Honestly, this kid really has a thick skull. "You had all the power in the world, and you didn't know what to do with it. You know what it's actually like? It's like you turned 16 and someone bought you a Porsche when they should have started you out with a nice little Honda. Me? I drive a Porsche." I scoffed, causing him to glance at me.
"I give up." I said, putting my hands in the air. "This conversation with him," I pointed at Jackson. "Is going nowhere." I turned around and walked away.
I sat at my desk looking down at the paper in front of me as I hissed when my hand cramped from writing too much. I let go of the pencil, the same time as a knock on the door was heard. "Come in!" I called out.
The door opened revealing my mom. A smile slowly appeared on my face. "Hi mom." I greeted, looking back down at my paper as she stepped in.
"How is the paper going so far?" She asked, walking towards my desk.
I nodded my head. "Not bad, just my hand continues to cramp every five minutes." I sucked in a breath, when one thought ran into my mind.
"Are you alright?" She questioned with concern laced in her voice, causing my eyes to snap up and look at her.
Did she mean as in how I'm feeling about this paper or something else? Because let me tell you that this paper will be the death of me. "What do you mean?" I couldn't help but ask.
"Well," She began, as her eyes scanned my face. "You've been really distracted lately, not only that you look extremely exhausted and it's worrying me." She admitted, making my heart squeeze a bit.
I cleared my throat, pushing my hair behind my ear. "I'm fine, mom." I lied, giving her a fake smile. "You don't need to worry about me." She put her lips in a line.
"You're lying to me," She walked over, wrapping her arms around my shoulder giving it a little pat. "Is this about a boy?" I sucked in a breath. Not really a boy but if she finds out he is way older than me she'll lock me in the basement.
"Yeah," I admitted, knowing she'd catch on if I lied once again.
"Honey, why didn't you tell me anything?" She asked, giving me a little peck on the head.
I shrugged. "Things are complicated. I guess..." I trailed, my eyes landing on the paper in front of me.
"Everything will be alright. Things to get complicated at a point but everything slowly transforms into something better. He'll come around." She reassured, making me nod my head with a sad smile playing on my lips.
"You're right..." I trailed, with my mind falling onto Derek.
"You know you could tell me anything right?" My mom asked, with a smile on her face.
I nodded my head. "I know, mom." I reassured. "You're the only person I could get advice from." She chuckled, kissing my hair once again.
Nothing is better than a mother's advice.

Know that a forgotten heritage of a dwindling people whispered, unknowingly sending a call to the ancient mysteries of the world. Something listened. And now events are set in motion that could force the earth on a course of terrible change. I am being hunted and have run out of time. There were no stories about it. No legends. Not even scribbles. Yet, the threat of it is real and that’s why I’m writing this warning with shaking hands. So pay attention those who read this, be careful of what lies waiting cloaked in the darkness. That which made their home the lost places of this world.” She folded the letter with a shuddering breath and stared back in the direction from where the noise reverberated through the halls. It was of stone doors shattering one by one. The chances of getting out safely were all but gone. The letter in her hand was all warning they would have. It dropped into one of the Wells and all that could be done now was hope it was found in time, if at all. -- This was my very first large story. ;) I started writing it years ago. Was fun, was difficult, but in the end, it is a story I hope that will inspire. The prologue is in first person perspective and the rest of the story in 3d. Just a little heads-up :P It is a fantasy epic with a contemporary twist for the start. The first arc of the novel is set inside our modern world, but as the mysterious events around Calin intensifies, the hidden secrets in the world start to become more fantastical. The story follows Calin, a young orphan in search of answers. But, the answers he seeks will change his life and that of his friends forever, for the secrets that caused his situation have far greater ramifications than the small village of Lamb's Crest could have known. Remember to leave ratings and reviews. I'm quite interested in hearing your thoughts on the story. ;) Enjoy reading, Omri Hope
