Hassino didn't even care that she was insulting him. He wore his clothes back in satisfaction and then turn to maimuna.

" I know you also enjoyed it so stop pretending "

" how can you deceive me like this. What crime have I committed for you to do something as harsh as raping me hassino. What have I done to you?"

" I have always liked you but never once have you even spared me a glance, you always look at me like I was a trash to you. Instead you waste your time on someone that don't even like you"

The door was opened wide and a tired sani came inside but when he saw what was right before him , his eyes almost bulged out. A half naked maimuna was crying on the floor and a now full clothed hassino stood with raise hand like he want to slap maimuna.

" ask this foolish girl" hassino said as he pointed at maimuna

Hassino denied the accusations " I swear to God, Sani she is lying to you. I was studying when I heard a knock at the door, I opened the door only to see that it was maimuna. She asked if you were around and I told her you weren't but she still insisted on entering. The next thing, she tore her clothes and came to hug me begging me to have sex with her. Sani was confused, he doesn't know who to believe. The only thing he said was " maimuna, please go home"

Someone was heavily knocking at the door and it was just 7:00am.who could be knocking like that, Sani had thought. He woke hassino up and then stood up to open the door.

He met two police men " are you hassino? " one of the officer asked

" no I'm not. My friend is hassino but what crime have he committed "

" are you aware that your friend is a rapist"

" subhanallah, God forbid ,my friend is not a rapist "

" what is going on here" a now woken up hassino came to join them by the door

" can you believe that this officers are accusing you of rape" sani angrily said

Deep in hassino's mind he knew he was a rapist but he will do everything in his power to not do to jail. Since Sanitary was an eye witness, he will make him believe him not maimuna.

" I can see that you're the hassino. You're under arrest for rape, move"

" I swear I didn't do anything wrong officer. I don't even know who is accusing me of such nonsense, please believe me officer"

" when you get to the station you'll explain yourself but whatever you say right now will be used against you at the court of law. So move" they drag him by his trouser and left for the police station.

Sani quickly close his door to follow them to the police station. His friend needs him, he had thought

" officers please don't let him go scout free, he raped my daughter " maimuna's mom yelled

" madam, you need to calm down. I know what you're going through but still, we still need to under go some investigation. We need to find evidence that this young here raped your daughter. " the officer explain.

" officers you don't need to investigate anything, I'm telling you that this boy here is a rapist. Please don't let my daughter's rapist go without paying for his crime, please officer. I'm so disheartened and I want you to picture yourself in my position, how will you feel when something like this happens to your daughter " maimuna's mom cried out.

Sani felt pity for her but he believe his friend. He knows that his friend will never do something as harsh as rape . He is a changed person, he had thought.

The officer took pity at the mother but there was nothing he can do except to find evidence, that was how it works. The officer look at the girl, far from everyone, she was crying out miserable. He felt pity for her. He called for her attention to ask her some few questions.

" who is your witness miss maimuna? " he had asked

She rose her eyes up only to turn and point at Sani. Sani stood shock.

The officer turn to sani " are you not the friend of hassino ?"

" yes I am. Can you tell us how you became a witness "

He started by telling them how he came back home that faithful day and met the the uncompromising position he met his friends and maimuna.

" how sure are you, that your friend is innocent? "

" he is innocent, officer. My friend may have not lived a good life before but since I started tutoring him he changed from his wayward act. "

The officer sigh. He doesn't know what else to do. Both the accused and the accuser are telling a different story. The witness said his friend didn't rape his friend so therefore the case is close.

The officer announce the situation and that was how hassino was free from any charges.

One week after the police station incidence, Sani couldn't live with himself. His conscience kept judging him that he has wrong someone and anytime he closes his eyes to sleep, he keep seeing a figure of a person in white chasing and accusing him of lying. He is confuse of what to do.

He kept thinking whether, hassino was indeed a rapist or not. He is tired of having a sleepless night which is why he decided to follow hassino secretly. Hassino always leave the house to God knows where.

Hassino entered the room with a bucket in hand, he just finished taking his bath. He glance at his friend deep in thought. What is Sani thinking about, he wonder.

" sani?" he called out but Sani didn't hear. He move forward to touch him and that was how Sani came out of his thoughts

" are you alright? " hassino asked. Sani nodded dismissively.

Hassino shrugged and quickly rub his body then wore his clothes. He had someone important to do.

When he was now fully clothed he turn to Sani " I'm going out"

" to where? " Sani asked

" I just want to collect something from someone in the next street " hassino said and Sani nod at him.

Hassino left the house few seconds later. That was when sani quickly put on his shoes and followed him behind.

Hassino didn't know that he was been stalk by his friend. He was whistling as he walk to where he was going. When he reached the place, he did a bro hug with the guys and he was given a paper with something wrapped inside. He opened it and began to sniff the white powder.

" I can see that you're now perfect in this" one of the guys said.

" I'm a fast learner after all" hassino replied back as he rubbed his nose.

" what about that stupid friend of yours that keeps preaching nonsense "

" l left him at home there ,day dreaming about who knows what. He doesn't know that I usually come here"

" good for you. So how far with that maimuna girl, was she good in bed?"

Hassino licked his lips remembering the moment " she was more than good, wallahi. I really played my card well if not I would have been in jail by now. Thanks to my gullible friend, Sani. "

Sani, couldn't believe what he just heard. He felt betrayed and fooled. He can't believe that he didn't suspect anything all this while. These wayward act of his must come to an end today, he must end up in jail and he will make sure of that.

Maimuna must earn the justice she deserves. Poor girl, he wished he believed her.

The officers pushed him out of the room.

After sani knew about the truth on the rape matter he went straight to the police station to confess what he knows. The police followed him to his room to wait for the arrival of hassino coz if they should go to the joint he was at, someone would have told them about their arrival and he will escaped. So it was better they do it quietly.

Hassino was trying hard to stand, he wasn't sane enough to comprehend what was happening to him. That was how he was taken to the station.

" Thank you my son for your help, if it wasn't for you my daughter wouldn't have gotten the justice she deserves. Thank you, for everything " Maimuna's mom was so grateful for all the help. She didn't know how to thank Sani enough for his help.

" Haba mama, you don't need to thank me. I only did what was right"

" thank you so much, may you continue to prosper in what ever you do. You shall never lack anything son" she prayed and prayed , Sani could only continue to say 'ameen'to all the prayers .

People of the village were all happy for the justice that was done. Cases like that was hard to win in that village, this was the first time a girl has gotten justice from being raped and all thanks to sani.

His name was praised and people couldn't contain their happiness.

Hassino was sentenced to five years imprisonment. The years might seem small but at least maimuna still got the justice she deserves.

Hassino's parent disowned him as their son, they were ashamed that they gave birth to that boy. He brought only shame to them and the best option they have was to disowned him.

Sani got an admission in ahmadu bello university and his family will be relocating to another house. It was a gift given to them by the rich people of the town who are proud of the young man's help for justice.

A day before Sani started school he made sure to visit his friend in jail.

" you betrayed me, sani. How could you do that to me, I thought we were best friends " hassino said in anger

" you should have thought of our friendship before lying at my face. You made me believe all your lies, I should have known that you shouldn't be trusted. You're rotten, hassino "

" I hate you with everything in me"

Sani laughed in pity for him " so it's now you know that you hate me? I regret ever being called your friend coz you're worthless and I pray you rot in jail. People like you shouldn't be left out wondering around coz you are a disgrace to the society. "

" you will regret ever saying this to me and when I get out of this jail ,I'll show you how a man I am and not a weakling you are. I will show you that one can prosper without going to school "

" then, that will be good for you. For all I care, you pack wastage for the society as a job, I don't give a damn" Sani bellowed out

" get out of my face"

" with privileged, I will. You have no use after all. Well, I only came to tell you that I'm leaving the village to go to school in the city, if you like you should amend your ways. Goodbye hassino or should I say abubakar.

Sani left with one and clean mind .He left hassino who was shouting 'I hate you' to him as he leave. He blew out a breath as he finally came out of the prison yard.

" I hope you remember now" I finally asked

" of course I do. You will never change, I wish you were locked up in jail forever " Sani shouted.

" but I'm not " I laughed at him

" where is my daughter in-law? Where the hell is she? " he shouted

" you'll see her in due time"

" what do you want from me. I know it's me you want, come get me and let the poor girl go"

" of course, I'll come get you. I'll text you the place we would be meeting. If you still cared for your daughter in-law you better not involve the police"

" good for you. Be expecting my text.." I handed up

"I hope you where able to track the call? " I asked

" of course Mr Bula. We need to raid there as soon as possible " the officer said

" wait, please officer, my wife is there with them let's do this operation smoothly " Amir said

" yes I get what you are trying to say Mr Amir. My suggestion is to do this operation immediately if not we won't be able to arrest all of them. " explained the officer
