《You Don't Know Me》T W E N T Y F O U R

Waking up in a hospital was probably the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. The bright lights, the beeping, the confusion and the flashes of what had happened.
"You're names Summer right?" A firefighter asked.
"Y-Yeah" I stuttered.
"Well you have alot of people out here for you" He looked over at a group of people being held back.
"That's my brother" I mumbled.
"Hey, hey. Don't fall asleep on me. Can you tell me how many people are in there with you?"
"Two" My eyes widened. "Marilyn. Matt" I called out but didn't get an answer.
"Calm down. Don't worry. We're going to get you guys out" He said.
"She's pregnant" I cough.
"Marilyn" I gasped out causing everyone in the room to jump.
"My baby" Mom lunges for me.
"Where's Marilyn?" I asked. "Is she okay?" I asked.
"She's fine. Eric's with her" Dad grabbed my hand. "You've been taking a really long nap darling"
"We're going to get her. Don't worry. My buddy is on the other side of the car cutting her out"
"What about my brother?" I asked.
"The one that's waiting over there?"
"No! My little brother. He was in the back seat but I can't see him" I tried to turn around.
"Don't do that" The firefighter said.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Marcus"
"Marcus, please don't let my brother die" I sobbed.
"I'm going to do everything I can" He said.
"He drank a lot. That's why I was here. I came to pick him up"
"You sound like a great big sister. My sister would have never got up at 2 am to pick me up from a party"
"Great sister. We're turned over in the middle of the street" I snorted.
"Morbid sense of humor" Marcus laughed quietly.
"We were going to the hospital" I gasped as I remembered.
"What?" Marcus asked.
"He's too drunk. He couldn't speak" I twisted around. "Matt! Matthew! Can you hear me?"
"Where's Matt?" I asked.
"Summer" Dad said quietly.
"Don't. Don't" I whispered.
"Don't worry baby. He's okay. He just got really hurt. Adam go get a doctor"
"Mommy I'm so sorry" I sobbed.
"No. No. You didn't do anything wrong baby" Mom grabbed my face lightly. "The truck driver was drunk. You don't worry. You did nothing wrong"
"I was crying. I couldn't see-" I cried.
"No. It didn't matter. The other driver ran a red light"
"Summer. You need to stop moving. We don't know where you're hurt yet" Marcus pleaded.

"I'm fine. I'm fine" I tried pulling myself around.
"Summer. Listen to me. You're pinned in. You're not wearing your seatbelt and you're not on the floor" Marcus explained and I looked around.
He was right. The car was upside down, I wasn't wearing my seatbelt and I was still in my seat.
"It doesn't hurt" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"I know. You're in shock. If you move too much you're going to do more damage" He explained.
"We got your friend out" He said.
"Is she okay?" I asked.
"I think so. The paramedics said that she's lost a lot of blood so they're going to take her to the hospital'"
"Can you tell Eric to go with her?" I asked. "And make sure they know about the baby"
"Eric?"
"My brother. He's wearing the blue jersey"
"Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked when he came back.
"I don't know" I mumbled.
"Well someone over there is fighting"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I went over to get your brother and some guy was with him yelling at the police to let him see you"
"Black hair, pretty green eyes?" I smiled lightly.
"Yeah. Stay awake Summer"
"That's Anthony. He's nice" I mumbled. "Or he was. I caught him with my best friend a little while ago"
The doctor spent a half hour making sure I was okay and explaining what had happened to me.
Apparently I spent 40 minutes bleeding internally until the firefighters were able to get me out of the wreck. My body was so damaged that it had shut itself down to heal.
"How long have I been out?" I asked.
"2 weeks baby" Mom whimpered.
~~~
Mom and Dad went to go pick up the rest of the family to visit so I was alone in my hospital room for a little bit.
"I'm a terrible brother" Eric said from the doorway.
"You're right. I woke up without my twin around" I joked.
"I got too drunk. I always get too drunk" He ignored my joke. "I shouldn't have called you to pick Matt up. I shouldn't of let him drink so much"
"Eric-"
"I ruined everyone's life"
"No you didn't- Eric-"
"My first child is dead" Eric said bitterly.
"The baby didn't make it..." I whispered.
"Nope" He whispered.
"That isn't your fault" I grabbed his hand.
"This happened because I called you"
"This happened because some guy decided to get in his truck, drunk. This happened because some guy ran a red light. This was not your fault. Please believe that" I begged.
"I'm sorry I wasn't here when you woke up Summer. Marilyn said that as soon as she's allowed to she'll be here" Eric said and I sighed. He didn't believe me.
"I miss her" I smiled sadly.
"Summer we're going to get you out first" Marcus said.
"No. No. Get Matt. I'm awake. He's not" I paniced.
"I know. But we can't get to him with you still in the car" He grabbed my hand.
"Please don't let him die" I begged.
"That wasn't too hard right?" Marcus said as the paramedics lifted me onto the gurney.
"Why didn't you do your job?" I mumbled.
"What?"
"You just sat there and talked to me" I stared into Marcus's brown eyes.
"My job was to keep you calm. I think I did a good job"
His calm brown eyes were replaced with frantic green ones.
"Summer? Baby? Are you okay?"
"Sir, you need to step back"
"Im not stepping back. I just waited for 40 god damn minutes to see her" Anthony yelled.
"Bro you just need to let them do their jobs. Get in the ambulance and ride with your girl to the hospital" Marcus said.
"Summer I love you" I heard Anthony say as I drifted into the darkness.
"Hey" Anthony whispered as I opened my eyes. "By the time I heard you were awake, you had fallen asleep" He smiled lightly but I just stared blankly at him.
"You scared me" He says.
"Eric said you were with Matt" I whispered.
"Yeah I was" He nodded and his face went dark.
"How bad is it?" I asked.
"He hasn't woken up yet" Anthony sighed. "The truck stopped on top of him. That's why they needed you to be removed first"
"There was a truck on top of him?" I whimpered. "What broke?"
"What?"
"You have that look my dad gets when he talks about Kevin Jones- the kid-"
"Who broke his leg his senior year and could never play football professionally again" Anthony finished for me.
"So what broke?" I asked.
"The truck stopped the blood flow to his right leg" Anthony explained. "They couldn't get the blood flow to return so your parents gave the doctors permission to amputate"
"Oh my god" I gasped.
"I think it's the first time I disagreed with your parents. They took the safer route but he's going to wake up and be lost" Anthony shook his head.
"Yasmine attacked her" He said after 15 minutes of silence.
"What?" I asked.
"Kali. Yasmine punched her. I felt bad so I took her upstairs to find a first aid kit" Anthony said and I stayed silent. "I know the kid who was throwing the party. His dad kept a first aid kit in his room. That's why we were in there"
"Did you think a kiss would make it feel better?" I muttered quietly.
"Summer she kissed me. I didn't kiss back. I don't know what you saw but you must have shown up the moment she kissed me" He sighed.
"Summer I've been in love with you since 8th grade"
"What?" My eyes snapped to his.
"In 8th grade at the boy-girl dance. We danced to Can't Stop Falling In Love by Elvis Presley. You were wearing a yellow sundress. It reminded me of the sun so I called you 'Sunshine.' And I realized I loved you"
"That's why I started making all those flirty jokes and always insisted you play spin the bottle with us. I know it was wrong because I was dating Yasmine. But that's what happened. I call you Sunshine because it reminds me of the day I fell in love with you"
"Anthony-"
"Why do you think I jumped at the chance to be your fake boyfriend? Tara Williams never even talked to me. She's a god damn lesbian. I just needed you to see me as something more than just your brother's best friend" He continued. "I knew you would of said 'no' to that idea if I had just suggested it. So I trapped you in it by telling Eric we were dating"
"Anthony-"
"Do you know what I told him? I told him that I was in love with you. I told him that every time you smiled, every time you smiled at me, my heart would beat out of my chest. Then he laughed at me and told me I was an idiot but god I am an idiot for you. I'm an idiot because I have no idea what I'm doing. I just want you. I just want us to be happy. Together. It kills me that I hurt you because I would do anything to protect you. I'd give up my football career. Anything. I don't know. I just need you to be happy"
"I love you" I say quietly.
"What?"
"I love you" I repeat myself.
"I love you too"
Healing Dungeon
// DUNGEON Mechanics will start to appear around chapter 100+/Arc 3 of the story! \ Avan, a 25-year-old young man, is torn from his rather boring life. He awakens in Aorus, a world full of magic, monsters and dungeons. By a stroke of luck and an ominous skill called "Potential", he awakens a new class never seen before called Dungeonheart (Human). Dungeons, although sentient, are never sapient nor mobile. Join Avan as he pursues his passion for healing and martial arts, and building his very own dungeon at the same time. He’s the hybrid of a moving dungeon and a healer. "Healing Dungeon" will include City building, strategy, very little romance, exploration of the world of Aorus, and a touch of power levelling. (There are elements from other fantasy novels, as well as anime, games, and more). What will all be possible with a dungeon that can move, but still brings some of the familiar dungeon mechanics along for its journey? -- Please note that the beginning and thus the first chapters were really my first writing works in english, and can only be rewritten at a later time (lack of time in favor for new chapters) --(The writing style and also the story improves VERY much from the 12th chapter at the latest! Proofreading is available, but I depend on any well-intentioned advice from you guys). If you have any questions, suggestions, constructive criticism, or just because you feel like it, feel free to leave me a comment below the respective chapters!For every positive and serious review or rating, I am infinitely grateful! ;) I am a creature of few words and the beginning is therefore a little faster than I would have liked it now in retrospect. Please do not expect huge paraphrases and descriptions of the environments, but only what is really necessary to get into the scene. Cheers and hopefully see you in the comment section.
