《Path of the Conqueror》Chapter-8 Resource, People and Market

"Are you truly offering me all this?"
Zain was having a hard time accepting the reality.
"Yes, of course."
Zeidan was still enjoying yet another cup of wine. Finally after drowning down half a bottle did he finally start talking seriously.
"Yes, I am giving all that to you. But I want you to change the terms of the agreement. First, you don't need to pay me the five million gold that I gave you. But the profit will be 70-30. You have no idea how much this wine is gonna make. And you don't even need that much, what you are getting is already ten times what imperial princes get for a monthly allowance."
This was actually what Zain was thinking of, lately. He had found that this business will be much more profitable than he thought. So, he doesn't need much big share from profit as according to his calculation even ten percent would be enough to complete his every desire. So, he agreed to renew the agreement.
"So, when can we start selling?"
"Actually, father about that..."
The wine was ready. It was sure that it would shake the market and its demand would only increase. So, the demand wasn't the problem. There were two problems first production supply and the second was medium of sale.
Right now, the production speed of the Winery was 200 bottles per month. And each would at least sell for 5000 gold coins if not more. But with this speed, they could only sell to some nobles, not even all of the higher-level ones. So, it would affect the business negatively, if they sell to a few selected ones.
But doing the trade through family sources would likely be a big mistake. You see, the Bane family is mostly filled with bone-headed people which is not the most appropriate and wise choice for the wine trade. So, they have to consider other options.

Generally, the other nobles' families will go to a merchant guild with which they have dealings. And sell a product through their channels. But that again was not a good idea as the Bane family didn't maintain any connections with any rations and supplies merchants which deals with wine.
They mostly only bought weapons as for rations their fields were enough. And the rest of the goods were traded with vassal families and small traders of Dukedom. So, they could not deal with family to avoid sharing profits and formula, the weapons merchant were not a choice and vassal families couldn't with entrusted with such a big money task.
So, all that left them with only one choice, which was to build their own Merchant guild. Many nobles also did the same to expand their network and wealth. It also gave them better control over the resources.
"Zain, you think it just that easy to go and set up a guild? It requires many resources to sell, people to manage and a market to sell. Do you ever thought about that?"
"Jeez.... father, you have known me since my birth. Have I ever been without a plan? Besides this time we don't even need one. Just have to change some rules of the game."
"What do mean?"
"I mean that resources, people and market are already present. We just have to own the resources, hire the people and go to the market."
Zeidan was on the verge of punching Zain's pretty face. He was sick of his 'figure out yourself' games. He just wanted a simple and clear answer.
"Zain, I am telling you if you talked like some half-ass bard. I will beat the crap out of you."
"Haha... why are you fuming? Okay, I will dumb it down it for you."

Although Duke was a little offended by this statement but he continued listening to him.
So, Zain's idea was to take the monopoly of Dukedom's food production into their hands. By changing the rules he meant changing the law from that farmers have to pay tax after the sale of their crops to that the farmers have to sell crops to the Bane family at a low price but with no tax to be paid.
Sure, the lower price would make up for the loss in tax. But it could also turn into a profit if the family increased the selling price. Even if they increased the price by a little, they would be selling thousands of tonnes of rations and stuff. This little margin can result in a profit of millions of gold coins. The problem of resources was solved.
Now, about managing people. In the Dukedom, most of the merchant guilds present dealt with rations, grains and supplies. But if they introduced this law, Without any resources to trade they would just perish. And here comes the second part of the plan.
Zain was planning to hire all the experts in these guilds for making his own and using the others for his transactions with farmers and maintaining the supply. This would help him and the people greatly. This solved the problem of manpower.
And the third problem was already solved. The buyer who bought from these small-scale guilds would now have to buy from them. It would be their only choice.
Zain finished up by describing some other details. When looked at the faces of all present, they had a look of respect, admiration and greed. Although it was a simple plan for Zain, but for the others, this was a great plan which could bring millions of gold coins as profit. And all this coming from a nine-year-old child.
"Hey! Don't look at me like I am a golden egg-laying goose? Hahaha..."
"THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE!!" All people present there said in unison.
"Okay, it's a good time to start with our plans. Because of this rare snowfall, most of the businesses are at a temporary halt. It gives us the perfect opportunity to apply big changes to the system. It wouldn't cause much uproar. But still, there would be uneasiness, and I have exactly what it takes to calm it down. I would need the support of you all for this."
"You already have it, don't you."
"Yeah, Yeah just making sure..."

The daily Litrpg journal of a fairly average 46 year old man in a world where hundreds of thousands of people suddenly have a super power.Follow him as he learns skills, runs away a lot, suffers crippling headaches, avoids reading his titles, and tries to avoid breaking his body that didn't get enough calcium and vegetables.[Disclaimer 1: Despite the following, I will fix any typos pointed out. This is a writing exercise so chapters are mostly first drafts, otherwise I'd end up rewriting each chapter for a month or more with no real changes. My goals are a steady output by not using perfectionism as a procrastination method. I've already got laziness and additions to reading/games, I don't need a 3rd reason to procrastinate.][Disclaimer 2: The main character is a more normalized version of me, with 170% less laziness installed, and a few buffs like greater courage. Other things like having a job are partially similar. No other characters are based on real people because most people I know are either too normal to be useful or too fucked in the head to be believable.]
