《The Last Watcher》Mana Overloads and Sudden Appearances

The Abyss Watcher leaned against the wall opposite of the bed that contained the small body of Argent. After she had collapsed and started screeching her heart out Kayla had rushed into the backyard quickly, not even sparing a glance at the Caelan or his impromptu protector.
Kayla didn't waste any time in taking action either as she immediately picked Argent up and hurriedly checked her over. After noticing the bruises but nothing else she summoned a green glow into her hand as Argent continued to spasm and nearly break free of her grip. Following this action Argent fell limp, only spasming very lightly now, as Kayla immediately brought her back into the orphanage leaving behind the shocked kids.
Of course the Abyss Watcher, curious about her sudden outburst quickly helped Caelan to his feet before walking after Kayla and Argent, ignoring the many gasps of shock and fear that he heard from the large smattering of kids present in the yard. He paused for a second, glancing over his shoulder to the roof of the house on the other side of the fence. Peeking just over the top of the other was a hooded figure in a black cloak, who froze as the Abyss Watcher's gaze peered into the dark shadows beneath the observers hood.
The Abyss Watcher continued to look at the cloaked figure for a few more seconds, brow furrowing in thought before shrugging and continuing to walk into the orphanage. Whoever that person was, if they were hiding that meant they either didn't mean to do anything or were too weak to attack him directly. And since he had noticed their presence than that meant that the latter was basically impossible.
Walking through the door to the orphanage he walked down the hall, listening for where Kayla and Argent could have gone. Listening, he heard the faint sound of a cloth being dipped into water. Homing in on the sound, he couldn't help but be impressed at Kayla's quick reaction. Maybe she used to be a healer? That seemed like it would be good previous experience for an orphanage. Of course, he didn't really know the qualifications one needed to run an orphanage but it seemed like a close enough guess.

Entering the room that he heard the noises from he found Kayla kneeling next to Argent who lay in a bed that had been stripped of it's blankets which lay haphazardly on the floor. She glanced to the Abyss Watcher for a second, pursing her lips as she lightly dabbed Argent's forehead.
"I would ask you what happened." She said, still keeping her gaze on Argent, "But you can't talk. Hell, I got a feeling that even if you could talk it wouldn't be much of an improvement." Taking off the cloth she pressed her hand against Argent's head before bringing it away quickly, a frown on her face. "Her temperature is all over the place." She muttered, "Hot one moment and freezing the next."
The Abyss Watcher frowned as he walked in to get a better look at the silver haired girl. Argent lay still on the bed, her face screwed up as her head tossed and turned, making it seem as though she was experiencing a nightmare. Sweat matted the long hair to her face as well as the bed, however the sweat also seemed to be freezing momentarily, so momentarily in fact that the Abyss Watcher wasn't even sure if Kayla saw it flipping between ice and sweat.
Resting his sword against the doorframe, he knelt beside Kayla to get a closer look at Argent, garnering a raised eyebrow from the woman beside him which he promptly ignored. Looking closely he could make out a faint blue glow coming from underneath her eyelids. He tapped his chin in thought as he remembered how Argent's eyes glowed during her freak out. And because his [Farron Spellbreak] skill had stopped the blue aura from reaching Caelan, it wouldn't be that far fetched to assume that whatever was affecting her had something to do with magic.

Kayla also seemed to come to this conclusion as she too noticed the blue glow, "It could be magic." She offered up, oblivious to the Abyss Watcher's inner thoughts. However he nodded regardless, prompting her to continue, "You wouldn't happen to know anyone who knows magic would you?" She asked, turning to look at him, "One who attended an academy preferably. I don't know the exact curriculum of magic academies but it wouldn't be too crazy to assume that they teach about happenings like this."
The Abyss Watcher blinked. Huh, he just so happened to know one such person who fit that criteria. The main problem was finding Skyla. He recalled that she had said she and Xander were going to the stables to buy horses. And with that the second problem made itself known. He had no idea where the stables were. In fact he had little idea of where anything was. The only two locations he had even visited so far had been the Guild and this orphanage.
He took another look at Argent before nodding to himself and standing up. He caused this problem, either from his use of [Farron Spellbreak], or his pressuring her into sparring with Caelan. Walking out of the room as he picked up his sword, much to the confusion of Kayla, he silently pushed Caelan into the room that contained Argent. He seemed a little shy but the Abyss Watcher hoped he could take the hint and stay with Kayla.
Walking to the door, he silently planned out possible places that the stables could be located. There was also the possibility that they had finished buying horses by now and had gone somewhere else. He paused for a second, questioning the feasibility of his quest before shaking his head to dispel the doubt.
Besides, it wasn't like he had anything better to do. He tilted his head in thought as he grabbed the door handle. Actually, he didn't really have much of a goal in this world. That didn't seem healthy. Lacking a purpose meant that he didn't have any reason to live. He frowned. Actually, what did he do in his old world? He felt like he could remember doing something important, but it was like a faded dream.
Shrugging he decided to shelve that line of thought for another time as he opened the door. He blinked. Well, speak of Aldrich and he shall appear. Damn, he really hoped that Skyla couldn't read minds right now. Thankfully the confused look on her face portrayed that she couldn't.
Well, at least he didn't have to go on a long and unnecessarily drawn out journey of exploration around Duskrock now that Skyla was right in front of him.
Guess Xander was there as well
