Thank you all for reading up until this point. This page is for any general story questions you might have, or suggestions. I intend to Fill this page with all sorts of fun info so please feel free to let me know if there is anything specific you'd like here.
You can bug me on twitter this weekend to write! Or motivate me to write even more? https://twitter.com/Docnoximus
Basically ya can ask anything pertaining to the first 10 chapters and prologue. In case ya have questions and don't want to dig thru specific chapter comments.
Hopefully doing this doesn't become spoilery, on that note i'll only briefly mention Characters introduced in the interlude.
Notes on the story in general.
-------------------------------------------------------
So opening statement about the story. If you hadn't noticed by now everything except interlude content will be in the first person view of Nox. Which means if he doesn't know something, you don't get to know it as the reader. the Exception being the Interludes in between story parts, those are like fun peeks into other goings on.
While it is a fantasy setting I am striving for as much realism as possible. For example the Airship in the interlude is in fact a helium airship. It sails under wind power like a sea ship with the occasional aid of magic. As the story isn't locked into any specific time period of our world, fun things like this do get to pop up.
On the note of it being a similar world but not ours, that means religions are different. With the clear existence of many gods who are openly interactive with the mortal realm and have access to knowledge of other worlds, Ideas involving there only being one true god are not popular. that doesn't mean they aren't around.
So with the lack of Christianity we come to a world with different morals than our modern earth. And with non human races come different standards of what is socially acceptable. Animals sleep with who they can, but that's on a case by case basis, realism steps in here, the beast races follow the social structure of the animal they are based on, Growth rate and life span too, exception being that with power comes longevity in this world. the week die young, live short lifespans, while the strong can endure for centuries and in some cases ascend to godhood. For example, Inari is a living goddess among the beast race.

anyway im working on race details next i'll put this up now, comment on anything you'd like me to go into detail on.

Locations! and stuff (lol this will be different next time)
--------------------
Terra:
The word is Latin for our earth and is used in many variations by several ancient civilizations/cultures.
Basically the world in our story is similar to earth but with alterations in the line of where some geological events such as route or size of certain rivers, extent of forests, but as the story is in first person there is only so much the reader will get to know at this point.
The Den and The Dark Wood:
The Dark Wood begins in what would be southern Germany and spreads east until central Ukraine. It reaches North till about mid Poland.
The Den is in an area resembling the mountains of east Slovakia or the south east corner of Poland
The GigaPines:
Black pine trees do exist in Europe altho not the same size as California redwoods. These also add a fun setting to our MC's recurring frustration with trees in his life.
Sirin:
A half woman half owl creature from Russian folklore, they prey on travelers. Its not difficult to find artist's paintings, this particular one didn't like a certain god of polygamy giving her the snub.
Polatsk:
An actual town in Belarus. The events that take place here are based on the area's folklore much like many events that take place in the story.
Vodlaks:
A term loosely taken from the Norse or Slavic ideas on werewolves. while these mythologies lean towards less humanoid versions i opted for the modern concept of what werewolves look like. In this story it is a curse from wolf gods used to punish non beast races.
Kassa Village:
Kocise Slovakia, we didn't actually stop here so that's all i'll say, it does however let you have a reference point to check out what the local country side looks like.
Yoden:
Following the Norse theme that accompanies the Winter tribe, Yoden , the name, comes from the ice world Jötunheimr. chapter 11 will have visual description. Located where Budapest is in Hungary, Yoden will take from roman themes with Norse influence while heavily using themes based on the Hungarian folklore of the royal family.

----------------------------
The tribes/races:
----------------------------------------------
Beastmen Race:
The majority of beastmen races follow the leader ship of the Yoden Tribe. The Yoden tribe consists of all beastmen living within the fortress capitol.
Lycan Clan
The canine tribes are separated by region, particular settlements are their own packs. because of the faster rate at which the young develop they are usually kept away from other races until they mature to their 2nd year and are still closely watched till the 3rd year. Powerful hunters combined with naivety/ignorance makes young lycans a favorite of human or demon slavers and others of the like.
Winter tribe:
white and black wargmen from the north. The black wargs are gone, more information will be given in ch11. the leaders what remain of the winter tribe reside in the Yoden pack. The Leader of the Winter tribe is always named Fenrir
Jackal tribe:
Dark brown or black fur with blond highlights, generally sharper features. Exiled from their homeland by the cats on the south side of the middle sea, the remnants live in Yoden Tribe.
Nico Tribe:
Light Blonde and soft featured, they specialize in medical and healing practices or magics. The Nico lycans where driven from their home on the north coast of the middle sea during the war by one of the Naga Tribes loyal to the demon army. their former home is the current site of a smaller scale war between the naga and humans looking for a port further east.
Stoat Tribe:
Brown furred, rounded ears, longer tails with coarse hair. Traditionally fierce hunters hunted down by the dragon tribes in the war. Now they are considered crafty merchants and are among the most wealthy residents of Yoden.
Kitsune Tribe:
ears and tail fade into a second color at the tips, Most often reddish or orange colored, White varieties are possible especially when bred with Winter tribe. The leader of the Kitsune tribe is always named Inari. Kitsune foxes gain a second tail if they survive to 100 years, gaining another every 50 years after that. the kitsune were also driven from the east during the war after the previous Inari was killed. The current Inari has seven tails and is over 350 years old, as the oldest living member of the beastmen race in the middle continent she is revered as a living god.
Dacian Tribe: Semi (not really important) spoiler, just hasnt been mentioned, i may add it in an early chapter.
The general wolf tribe, fur color ranges from red, grey, brown, white. often smaller in stature and weaker than the warg blooded winter tribe from the north. they are far spread across the continents however they generally fall under the Yoden / Winter Leadership.
skipping ahead, because i have a superbowl thing to go to today, here is super brief relation ship break down for Nox as requested, DO NOTE this will be better written out later for sure. It's important to note that sense the story is in his view point, if Nox doesn't understand something or his relation ship to someone, you're not meant to either and i wont spell it out, you get to wait for the relationship to progress just like reality.
Nox:
Siblings- Akane, Walther
Parents- Vulpi, Skoll (Inari, Fenrir)
Patron God- Freki (Nox's soul was specifically sent to Freki, having great compatibility she chose to raise him as her champion.)
Attendant- Ulfa (temp, Freki's consort), ??? Apprentice Valkyrie
Friends- Maug (Freki's consort), Asta (Walt's mate), Patra (benefits not out of question) Mates- Lupa (girlfriend), Iris (future wife)

Divine Progress
Progress is a dubious god. After failing him, three people are banished from modern times and sent to another world. Seemingly out of place, Christoph is snatched from his own time and plunged into a world of violence and magic with no deity to lend him support. Instead, Progress has seen fit to curse him with an eternal hunger for magical energy. Branded as a demon, he must fight for survival while battling the servants of the god who sent him there, struggling against the 'gift' that Progress bestowed upon him and the past he sought to abandon. Can he make his way across the lands and gather enough strength to survive without the blessings of the Divine? Or will the gods bend him to their will, breaking him if he seeks to resist? This is not a short story, and the plot will take many twists and turns before Christoph's journey comes to a close. After all, it is not the destination, but the Progress that matters in the end. Like many other stories on RoyalRoad, this is my first piece. Feedback is more than welcome, so please leave a reply if you have a comment or question.
