The mutating man started crawling toward me his face bubbling and changing into something else.

"Right this is the part in the movie where the mc runs buuuuut."

I shot a quick bolt of lighting at the things head. The head exploded into pieces and red and black blood started spraying from the body. Seeing how easy that was I started blowing the heads off all the corpses here, just to make less trouble for the near future.

Completing my work I turn to leave when I hear a whimper. I stop in my tracks and turn to the cage where the puppy is currently staring at me with watery eyes.

"Damnit!" I dash over grab the cage and bolt out the door and up the stairs. The black mist had only covered most of the room so haste probably wasn't a necessity but I wasn't taking any chance besides its not even within the time frame yet. When I rush past a body that I dropped earlier the pup barks at me.

I stop and give it a curious look. Somehow I knew it wanted me to take care of the bodies like I did in the ritual room. I take a closer look at the pup and notice something odd. It has three tails, dark red eyes that hold intelligence, and as a pup its teeth and claws look razor sharp. I couldn't place the breed but a guess would be a some weird form of rottweiler. It had the black fur but where the fur should be brown it was silver instead.

I put the cage down figuring I had time and looked at the pup." You know whats going on don't you?"

The pup gave a quick bark that I took as a yes. "Ok can you tell me?"

I don't what drove me down to questioning a weird dog found in a ritual chamber that is going to turn this city into hell. But for some reason it felt right.

The pup then points to my hand with a paw."You want me to touch you?" With a bark and a nod I put my hand in the cage.

The little fucker bit me.

"OW owowowoowow that fucking hurts! Wait how does that hurt!?" I stare down at the pup who is currently holding onto my hand and blood was coming out around its mouth. I have to make sure none of my devouring flame goes into the pup. Then I try to take my hand back.

It didn't work the little fucker was latched on and I could see it gulping."Hey are drinking my blood!" Did I pick up some vampire dog or something?

After a few seconds I was debating whether or not to hit the fucker with a bolt of lighting when it let go and sat back looking satisfied. I snatched my hand away and rubbed the wounds. For some reason they were healing slowly.

"Can you understand me now master?"I stare blankly at the pup whose mouth just spewed English.

"You can talk!?"

"Only to select individuals. You were not one of them so I had to do a blood contract. Sorry about that." The pup's voice sounded like a little girls which helped me place its gender and probably didn't mean good things for me. It was also odd in the way it spoke. Like watching one of the asian films with the bad voice overs.

"Its fine and whats a blood contract?"

"We don't have time. You only slowed the spell it will slowly gain strength and fully activate. You need to help me out of this cage and then we need to get as far away as possible! Once that activates fully your power will drop tremendously." The pup said.

"Wait I slowed it?" I was confused because from what I could tell I activated it.

"Yes. The sacrifice it to be special which is why I was there. Since you made that man into the sacrifice instead the spell backlashed but was still able to activate. Now hurry I will explain more later we need to move!" The pup shouts.

I nod and place my hands on the cage and pull. "No stop!"but it was too late. The cage was lined with some defensive magic and when I tried to pull apart the cage it activated.

"This is going to hurt."

When the magic went off it felt like I was sucker punched with a school bus. I slammed through some of the old stuff lying around and coughed up some blood.

"Yep that hurt."

I then hear footsteps approach and Nickolai, some troops, and the twins show up. Seeing me the all raise an eye.

"What never seen a man who just got his ass kicked by a magical cage before?"

They didn't answer but looked at said cage.

"Ah its so cute!"The twins then rush the cage and peer at the pup.

"Master I don't like the looks on these two. Its like staring into the eyes of predators."I can hear the shiver in the pups voice.

Seeing how no one acted at the voice they must not be able to hear her. I get up and steady myself then make my way toward the cage for round two. While I am at it I start to explain.

"So we were too late the spell activated and we need to get the hell outta of here. And no me waiting wouldn't have helped worth a damn. I knew this was going to happen and rushed in anyway so I could at least take care of the cult so they wouldn't cause any problems during our escape. So every shut up get out and run."

Nickolai gave me a grim look and sent two men toward the stairway. I just shook my head. Poor bastards. Now turning my attention back to the cage I figure if brute strength won't work how about devouring flames?

I wrapped my hands in black fire and grabbed the cage again then let go and spread the fire. The pup looked at this with wide eyes. The twins were still looking at the pup. I guess even in the 80's cuteness is justice.

Once the bars were eaten by my flames I put them out and grabbed the pup before the girls who lunged at the same time. They each gave me sour looks. The pup looked back at them fearfully.

"Master do not let them have me!"She pleaded and dug her nails into me.

"Owowowowowow! Stop that your claws are ridiculously sharp!"I said in pain.

I looked over at the twins."We need to go now no more stupid ass detours unless I say got it!?"

They both glare at me and bared their teeth."Who the hell are you to tell us what to do!? We already agreed to help the general so we are staying!"

That was the last straw."You know what!? I am not fucking you, related to you, or bound to you in some way. So I am not letting you two dictate shit! You will let me save your asses and you will listen to me so I can score brownie points with your grandma!"

"Or what!?"They scream

I reached a point in my anger toward women that I haven't felt since War. In a flash I was behind them and I delivered a hard blow to their heads slamming them into old equipment. Both then lay on the floor quietly.

Nickolai and the soldiers looked at me in shock. I just glared at them daring them to try something. I moved the pup to the top of my head. and threw the twins over my shoulder stacked on each other.

"Don't dig your nails in my head pup but hold on." I turned to Nickolai. "Those two soldier are going to-

I was cut of by two screams. Then we saw one of the soldiers sprinting up the stairs. right as he reached the top a fleshy looking spike pierced his chest.

We all looked at him in alarm. Nickolai tried to rush forward but I held him back.

"Help.......me.....please."The soldier begs us.

But it was already to late. The spike the grew four prongs and looked like a wicked grappling hook. And with a ear piercing scream was dragged back down the stairs. His scream were cut off a moment later.

"And thats my cue. I suggest you take it as well general." with that I took off.
